======================= HAZY TAXI =========================

A game made with the 3D Game Maker, an old tool based on
Darkbasic, which lets you "click together" various assets to
make (very) simple games. I briefly played around with it
circa 2002, but was dissapponted that it wouldn't let me
make my own GTA3. In 2026 I got nostalgic and decided to
just muck about with it for my own amusement.

A few days before this came out, there was a big
controversy over the latest Crazy Taxi game using AI to
generate a few incedental background textures on buildings.
If you're reading this in July 2026 or something, it's
probably long-forgotten, but trust me, it was stupid.

Anyway, all you have to do is speed around New York making
"pickups", indicated by green "mission markers" which look
more like Mario's pipes than anything. Watch out for the
other traffic, it's... completely harmless but might block
your view of a marker.

* Right click, and go into "properties", then into *
* "Compatibility" and check the box to run it in *
* "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" mode. You can also *
* right-click on the game and select "Run as *
* Administrator" to make extra-sure it will run. *

Controls:
Up - Accelerate
Left / Right - Steer
Down - Reverse

Levels:
1 - Queens (10 pickups)
2 - Brooklyn (16 pickups)
3 - Wall Street & Financial District (20 pickups)
...or whatever, I've never even been to America.

Known Bugs:
-It was made in "toy" software from 2002, so isn't very good

-The textures of shopfronts were made by AI, so aren't very
good.

-I also made a texture to make the road surface more American,
but it got corrupted and I was too lazy to bother making it
again.

-If the time runs out juuust before you get the last pickup,
you re-start the level... WITH all the points from the all-
-but-one pickups you got last time! Oh, Darkbasic!

-The "enemy cars" mostly aren't any trouble at all, they
don't even slow you down!

-One of the enemy cars also gives you points when blown
up. Too lazy to fix it.

-I also meant to turn the HUD texts yellow, but forgot and
am too lazy to fix it.
