===================ICE STATION ESCAPE======================

A game made with The 3d Game Maker, a Darkbasic-based old
creator which lets you easily make basic games by just
picking assets from a list. Once again, the only real
creativity on show in this game is the title screen...
though I did mildly edit some of the textures, too. Mostly
just desaturation.

This is based on Teddy Bear World, a game I actually played
with teddy bears back in the day, though I also made comics
and dreamed of making videogames (without even owning a PC).
This specific game is based on one small part of Teddty
Bear World, dreamed up by my brother and I while on holiday
in a static caravan in Weymouth or somewhere. Basically the
"teddy bear version of Hitler" has been revived in modern
spacefaring times, has taken over a huge factory ship, and
is using it to crank out an army of living ice blocks. Don't
ask how it works, just blast 'em!

This has 3 levels, you need to find all of the holographic
invasion plans, and then exit the level (follow the arrow
on the "radar"). Or, you can "exit the level" first, THEN
find the plans afterwards. Oh Darkbasic!

* Right click, and go into "properties", then into *
* "Compatibility" and check the box to run it in *
* "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" mode. You can also *
* right-click on the game and select "Run as *
* Administrator" to make extra-sure it will run. *

Levels:
1 - Docking bay
2 - Engine room
3 - Escape pod launch tubes
(I DID want to make a 7 level driving game called Felney
Road Rage... but it turns out, if you add custom item
layouts to more than about 4 levels, the engine can't
handle it, and randomly un-customises one of your other
levels. Oh, Darkbasic!)

Controls:
Arrows - Movement and strafing. Strafe a lot!
Mouse - Look around.
Left click - shoot
Right click - jump. There's a few places where you need to
jump over pits.

Tips:
-There's three different kinds of enemies, though they all
look the same. Mostly because there's three different kinds
of Cobra (only they spell it "Cobre", oh Darkbasic!) tanks,
which I distorted into "Ice Guards". Some enemies hang
around and shoot at long range, some rush you, and others
attack from medium range. They take 5 shots to kill, or 2-3
with the weapon upgrade.

-Collect the "holograms" to complete the level. Medical kits
restore 20 health points, and the "gun magazine" upgrades
your gun for the rest of that level.

Known bugs:
-It was made in an engine that was intended for kids to
play about with. from 2002... and thus isn't very good.

-Collision detection is crap, it might look like you are
hitting enemies, when actually you aren't! Watch out for the
rushing enemies, if they get too close, your shots spawn
behind them and do no damage. Oh, Darkbasic! Back away and
strafe a lot to win!

-The weapon upgrade only lasts the remainder of that level,
I didn't know this, so put them near the end of levels 2 and
3, so you'll barely get a chance to use it . Oh, Darkbasic!

-I wanted to have a boss at the end of level 3, but bosses
are automatically placed in EVERY level, if you choose one,
and you can't decide where they go. Oh, Darkbasic!
