Review

Located out in Fuse, well off the tourist trail (good, no gaijin), this is a Harry Potter-themed bar (actually, given the politics of most gaijin, and what their fellow-travellers have been doing to JK Rowling recently, you won't find any in here regardless). It used be much closer to Fuse station, and had a much stronger Potter theme (illuminated by loads of "hovering" candles).

Now it's moved further away, is a tad smaller, and has more of a vibe of "a place with Harry Potter stuff laying around" than "actually in the Wizarding World". Has a bunch of regulars who are alright. Nobody I've met here speaks English at all. The mama might recommend a nearby bar named "T Bar" where "they speak English". Don't go, it's shit.

Getting There

If you come to Fuse from more central Osaka, basically just walk back along the track in the direction you came (with the track on your left), until you find a big "Comic Buster", it's in that general area on the ground floor of a building (she has a sign out on the street too).Around the New Year, the Kintetsu line runs 24 hours, so you can get blöötered out there and still make it home.

Details

¥300 cover charge. Beer is ¥600, as are Highballs, Chu-Hai etc.

In Conclusion

Remember, if she suggests you can to to another bar where "they speak English", and takes you to "T Bar", just walk away. Apparently there's another one nearby where they speak English called Pastels, which is supposed to be good. Not otakuish, though. Stick to the Owl!
