General Info:

Graham Manders is a proper Cantabrigian, he was born in the "town" but became "gown" when he passed his entrance exams to the city's historic university with flying colours. He went on to become a brilliant student in the emerging fields of cybernetics and robotics. Being from Cambridge, he also loved cycling... until 1987 when, close to the end of his university career, an accident left him unable to walk.

Not letting that hold him back, Graham went on to become one of the principal investigators in the university's Department of Applied Cybernetics, and a world authority on the subject. He now had an extra reason to be interested - one day, cybernetics might allow him to walk, and cycle, again. Late one night, he found a sample of a fluid designed to preserve brain tissue indefinitely was actually still working perfectly, though it had somehow been discarded as a failiure by the other scientists. Graham realised he could transfer a brain into a robotic body and theoretically keep it alive far beyond a typical human lifespan. But all of the approval procedures and ethics comittees would take so long to allow a human test, that he'd be long dead before then... unless he bypassed all of that and did it himself, with "borrowed" robot surgery and physiotherapy equipment, Just before he decided to do it, his granddaughter was watching The Avengers at his house. He saw Iron Man and thought why should be just walk, he could fly!
