A creature I invented for Galactic Conquest. It lives on FW's home planet of Nirisan, and is a T-Rex-sized flying 'dinosaur'. It's looks were based on what Dinosaurs were thought to have looked like in the 90's, so no feathers (unlike the real T-rex!). The problems having such huge carnivorous creatures flapping around on a planet with modern cities might create aren't really addressed. They're regularly in the background of scenes on Nirisan too, so aren't even that rare. It's possible that, being "birds", like dinosaurs are, they are, in fact, quite timid*, and silichions in particular are ominvores and also, usually, carrion feeders. Though there would have to be similarly-large herbivores for them to eat after death. After dreaming up the silichion, I used to draw it a lot in unrelated places. One of the Plagues of Egypt in the Bible is "wild beasts attcked them", I drew a silichion eating somebody. My friend leaned over and said "you draw that monster in everything!" |
* - Now I'm wondering how a T-Rex and a Lion might react to each other. One good roar and the dinosaur might leg it!
