FELNEY

Felney is a large village in Cambridgeshire. It is located on the road between Newmarket and Ely, opposite the small village of Stuntney. It has numerous businesses including two used car garages, a book shop, three pubs and two general shops. It also has a primary school.

There is evidence of Iron Age and Roman settlement in the area. In medieval times, the village was called Fenlye and is recorded as having twenty households and 45 head of sheep. In Victorian times it had a train station at which slow trains stopped just before Ely, but this was closed by the Beeching Axe because only one person used it.
