General Info:

A British Motor Corporation car built in the mid-late 1960's. Known internally as AD053, it was badge-engineered as the Austin Cambridge, Morris Oxford, MG Magnette, Riley 4/72 and Wolseley 16/60.

In the Gamma universe, it was put back into production in 2051 by Homonian Leyland, where all badge-engineered variants were named "Farina", after Pininfarina, the Italian design company responsible for the original styling. Homonian Leyland, aside from modifying the engines to run on hydrogen, improved reliability, the heater, and made the badge engineering a bit more obvious and distinct. For instance, the MG version got octagonal clocks and was built as a sports variant, while the Wolseley version was built for sedate luxury, and got the all-important light-up badge. HL also introduced Hindustan, Rover and Watling versions.

Origin / Inspiration:

Based on the real car. After graduating university, I saw a very well preserved Riley version from 1966 for sale. If I'd got a job just a couple of weeks earlier, I'd probably have bought it.
