General Info:

The replacement for the Ford Cortina mkV, the Ford Sierra was initially controversial because of it's "jellymould" styling. Also early versions had problems being blown about by crosswinds. Modifications, and customers warming to the look as other cars began to imitate it, slowly turned it into a best-seller. By the early 90's, it seemed like every other car on UK roads was a Sierra.

The most popular versions were the 4-door liftback and estate, but there was also a 2-door liftback, 4-door saloon (called a Sapphire) and various performance ones, including the 2-door XR4i, 4-door XR4x4 and the mighty Cosworth, with a giant spoiler. Later the Cosworth was based on the saloon version (with more understated styling). The car was also sold on the continent, in South America, South Africa, new Zealand and in the US and Canada in small numbers.

Though the Sierra had different "marks", there wasn't much difference between them. Earlier ones had square front lights, with the indicators in the bumper and (on cheaper models) a slatted grille. The later ones had wrap-around front lights with orange indicators and a small grille, and the last ones had all-clear front lights. That was about it.

In Felney Software driving games, it is called a Leone. The XR4i version is called Xi4R and the the Cosworth version is called Wentworth 500.

Variants:

Felney - Aaron and Tina have a white estate version, which they even lived in for a while, before moving in with Mike.

Anti Bully - The parents of the White brothers have a mk1 4x4 version, registration no C404JEG. Which is based on the exact one my own parents had for a while in the 90's (it was good at pulling caravans!)
