General Info:

The jukeboxiest of Britain's few jukebox cars, the Zodiac mk2 was the top of the range model in the line which also included the Consul II and Zephyr mk II, the main difference being that the Consul had a 1.7l engine and the two "Z-cars" had a 2.5. The standard models were 4 door saloons, though there was also a coachbuilt estate by Abbot-Farnham, and a 2-door convertible. But the convertible had structural weaknesses so not many have survived. It was the 50's, anyway. People could just buy another! The cars went out of production in 1962, the Z cars got updated versions, and the Consul was replaced by the smaller and more efficient Cortina.

In 2050, the Zephyr and Zodiac were both put back into production in Homonia, under the name Watling Aquarius. This is pretty much the same, but runs on hydrogen gas, and has the common aftermarket exhaust upgrade fitted as standard. The "Zephyr" retains the 2.5l engine, but the "Zodiac" has a 3.0 V6. Also the estate version is styled a bit differently, and the convertible has more reinforcement. Though Homonia is an ursury-free fascist state, so if it does snap in half, you can just buy another. It is popular with the police as a rapid response car.

Variants:

Nick Chiu has a Zodiac, registration no ATE701B. Which is from 1964, so it must have sat about in the dealer for a while.

Sarah Millman has a Watling Aquarius.
