General Info: |
The flagship of Earth's Imperial fleet at the time of the Great Galactic War, the Imperial Star is the only ship of it's class, and is nominally commanded by the president of Earth himself. Her triple-layer regenerative shielding is unique, sychronised by a special process that the Earth Empire keeps a closely-guarded secret, though they do allow other factions the chance to copy their less-sophisticated double-layer model. The Imperial Star is, in addition to being one of the most powerful single ships in the galaxy, almost a mobile base in herself. In additon to her various fighter and bomber squadrons, she carries a number of more general purpose shuttles and some FTL-capable diplomatic "runabouts", too. She can also dock and repair a damaged Aquatic class destroyer and, after a major engagement, remove salvagable parts from multiple destroyers and fabricate a new one from them. This is a pretty rough-and-ready procedure, though, and one otherwise best left to dedicated shipyards. |

Only one was ever built. |

Origin / Inspiration: |
Inspired by my cousin's design for "his" own flagship in an old story he wrote, which was called the Empire Star. Also it is inspired by the TOS / TMP-era Star Trek federation vessels, and the Tsar's Super-Dreadnought from the game Colony Wars. |
