General Info: |
A British bomber which was built before World War 2. It saw limited use early in that conflict, but it quickly became clear that it was too slow and underpowered. The design was evolved into the four-engine Lancaster. The Manchester continued to see some use in roles such as electronic warfare. It was used to detect German radio beams, which their bombers used to navigate, and work out targets and approach paths. |
