General Info: |
One of the rare and unreliable Spitfire variants with two 20mm cannons instead of 8 .303 machine guns. The cannons tended to freeze at high altitude and not work, only to unfreeze and fire themselves when they got a jolt on landing - no fun for ground crews! XXXX finds one on his estate, which the wounded pilot was able to land before he died. He modifies it's engine for more power, and adds extra radiatiors close to the cannons, to stop them freezing. His estate contains a long field large enough to land and take off from, so he sets out as a "vigilante", striking the Luftwaffe on his own terms. |
