General Info: |
A large car built by Rover from 1958 until 1972. It was supposed to replace the Rover P4, but production overlapped by many years. The front end was dominated by a large grille and round lights, and it had a comparatively low roofline, giving it almost a proto muscle car look. All had 3l engines, apart from the P5B, which had a lower "coupe" roofline and a 3.5 litre Buick-derived engine (which later became known as the "Rover V8"). The car went through three marks, though there wasn't much to choose between them, just slight styling changes and updates to the engine. It was a popular car among members of the British government, and they even bought up the last 200 of them, registering them as needed for several years afterwards. In 2044, the P5 went back into production in Homonia, the range simplified to the 3-litre saloon or 3.5 litre coupe, all running on hydrogen instead of petrol. Later still they were made electric. Homonian Leyland phased out most wheeled cars in 2180. In Felney Software driving games, it is called the Viking P55, the V8 version Viking P55c |

Felney - Mike has one in his back garden, propped up on some crates. Apparently it starts, but "everything else on it is bust". |
