Review
It took me way longer than it should have done to realise it's name is a pun on "Virtual-On", a series of mecha games from the turn of the century (only one came out in the west, and on the Saturn at that). Especially because "B" and "V" get mixed up easily in Japanese accents.
Anyway, I was recommended it by the master of Encount, and wasn't disappointed! The master of Tual-On was a Sega kid (a very rare thing in Japan!), growing up with a Megadrive instead of a SNES, and Sonic instead of Mario. He also loves Rock, Punk and Metal, so of course I introduced him to the V8 Wankers! We even talked about the BBC Micro and Repton. He's pretty cute, too, which is a mere bonus.
Anyway also the bar has a big series of bottles, the beer is Sapporo in bottles.
Getting There
In the Nippo Royal Building, which is just west of Mido-Suji and just north of Dotonbori. The entrance to the building is just over the road from Ore No-Heroine Chan... which should be avoided. Come here instead!
Details
The charge is ¥500, soft drinks are ¥500 too, and alcohol is ¥700. Actually quite cheap by otaku bar standards, I'll be back!
In Conclusion
It's a fun one, and has Golden Wind and Uramakoya as immediate neighbours! Have a mini otaku bar crawl, all in the same corridor!
