General Info:

Built by Ford from the late 60's to mid 80's, the Capri was the "European Mustang", and marketed with the slogan "The car you always promised yourself". It shared many engines and parts with the family-friendly Cortina, and most models sold were not really much faster. However, some performance versions did exist - in Mk1 form, the RS2600, RS3100 and (in South Africa) the V8-Powered Perana. The car was also sold in Australia and New Zealand. In the USA it had different headlights and was called a Mercury Capri. The Mk1 model was replaced by the Mk2 in 1974. The Mk2 had a modern hatchback, rather than a boot, and a smoother bonnet, it was also a bit bigger. The later Mk3 model was not much more than a facelift of the Mk2

The rear suspension was based on the type used on horse-drawn carriages hundreds of years previously, making the Capri very tail-happy. But this was all part of the fun! Many were raced with some success - a lot of racers had totally different suspension, with the 'real' suspension being replaced by a lightweight plastic mockup.

In the 2040's, the Homonian nationalised car company, Homonian Leyland, put it back into production as the Watling Intimidator.

In Felney Software Driving games, it's called a Capricorn. The RS Models are called Capricorn SR, and the Gaydoom one is called Gaydoom Capricorn

Variants:

Felney - Mike owns a part-restored yellow one with no windows, or most of it's interior. It was a 3.0, but has been bored-out to 3.1 RS "spec". One day he might finish it!

Gaydoom / The Fourth Reich - The rebels use one with a mass of barbed wire and rusty, jagged spiked metal on the front. It also has 1-2 side-mounted scrap cannons, which use black powder to shoot an assortment of scrap metal and shrapnel.

Sexton Blake - Tinker drives a 3-litre one in 1975. When Sexton Blake was still integrated with my main universe, it was going to be implied this is the one Mike is later restoring.

Tijuana Bibles - Nick Chiu owns one in Flat-Chested Nympho Cougars in Classic Cars From Heavy Metal Hell, which is driven by Suzie and Katie. It also makes a cameo apperance in Fiasco. This one has a black bonnet, with a Mushroomhead "X face" on it. Reg no: FKL982H.
