Yet another bar I only found because I Maps searched for "アニメバー" whilst actually in the vicinity of it. This one's more of a "live venue", like Guild Nipponbashi, so it's mostly standing room only. When I went there was a DJ set going on, some people stood around and obnoxiously-loud yanks monopolising the seating around the tiny bar. The barman didn't even realise I was there until I walked around the bar in front of him.
It's probably mainly intended for dancing when a popular DJ is on, not a place for quiet sitting-down nights! They have some anime merch in the bar itself, but most of it is out in the "lobby" near the left, and also in the toilet, which is seperate from the bar (and has classic rock playing!).
Getting There
It's in America-Mura, go to the famous Triangle Park, hangout for obnoxious gaijin, and head south. Take the next right, and look for the big red sign for "Boobies Tattoo Studio". The bar is in the same building, there's just one tiny sign for "BK" outside, which is easy to miss.
Details
Charge ¥500, beer is ¥700 and soft drinks ¥600. On the Google Maps page they had a picture of a "Visitors / Tourists are no cover charge!" sign... I don't now remember if I got charged the cover charge or not, but for an Otaku bar, these are very cheap prices (especially post-corona), so I'll be going again!
The firsy time I went, the DJ set ended at about 23:00, so I assumed they were closing and took off. Actually they close at "28:00"! Because in Japan, it's not the next day until you sleep!
Also I'm not a tourist, I've been a resident in Osaka 10 years, but they don't need to know that.
In Conclusion
A cheap place, though you might have to stand / it might be obnoxiously loud with a popular DJ on. The score is a reflection of the prices!
