Review
Whereas Jukimamani is an otaku bar that has taken over what looks a like formerly-classy unit, C-Part is an otaku bar that is also classy. It's dark and sophisticated, with tasteful lighting over the bar and a "cocktail of the month". AND anisongs and figures everywhere. Incedentally it's also the first otaku bar I actually went to! I did go into one in Kyoto not long after moving to Japan, but I was too early and it wasn't open.
This is underground, and very narrow, though it has a decent amount of seats if you can squeeze your way to them. Since I was last there (which was before Corona), he's put various bottles on a narrow bookshelf just to the left of the door, so be careful coming in! The master speaks a bit of English, and there's often a crowd in. He loves Scotch, and used to have a digital photo album up showing off his visit to Scotland and tour of many a distillery. There's no shortage of whisky, so if you're into that as well as anime, this is the bar for you!
When I last went in 2019 it was crammed with figures, they were running out of space! When I got back in 2024 the collection had been downsized a bit, so there's somewhere to put your glass down.
Getting There
Go to Namba subway station / Namba NanNan (なんなん) however. Kintetsu-Namba exits to the same place, come down the main stairs from Namba Keihan station, walk a considerable distance from JR-Namba. Come out of exit 9 and turn left, it's on the left (the bar is underground, look out for the C-Part sign on the street). Or come out of exit 8 and go straight, through a bunch of old bus stops. Look out for the sign for "Italian Bar Pieno" on your right. Go down the stairs there, and go straight.
Details
Open 6:00 to 12:00, except on Friday, Saturday and national holidays, when it closes at 2:00am. Closed Wednesday and Thursday..
Cover charge ¥330, beer ¥715, (and small ones at that), many many whiskies to be had, from ¥770. I guess if you get a good one it costs more!
