General Info:

Half Hong Kong Chinese and half White British, Pete lived in HK from his birth until 2000. His dad was a Royal Marine, who used to be part of the garrison when HK was part of the British Empire. This meant the new "protectors" of the colony looked on him with suspicion, so the family moved to England. Pete's dad is a web designer, who got into it right in the early days of the internet (though a friend in signals had been inisisting "computers are the future!" since the Falklands). This means the family are decently well-off, though Pete has dreams of being a writer instead.

Pete has also got into anime and manga, mainly from 'pirated' things he found in Hong Kong during his childhood, though they followed him to Britain, as official English translations, at around the same time. When he went to university, in Farnbridge, he joined the Farnbridge International Anime Society, or FIAS. And the rest is (insane) history.

Apperance-wise, he looks closer to Chinese than White, but is a bit paler and has some slightly 'western' features. Which makes loads of people assume he is Japanese. Influenced by his dad's military practicalities, he is very no-nonsense, and will just get on with things rather than mope about how difficult they are. Which means he doesn't fit in too well with otkau.

Character Origin:

Fiasco is partly a compilation of famous weaboo horror stories in comic form, but all happening to the same guy (poor bastard). One of the more famous ones, which actually made the news in Chicago, involved a half-Asian half-White guy a crazy girl thought was Japanese and kept stalking (she also hanged his cat). Pete is based very loosely on that guy (he wasn't a student, though, he worked for an events company).
