The universe of stories from my Felney Herald, EU News and SCV sites / comics. Oh and Smallwood cartoons, too. Yeah that far-right maniac who was famous for 15 seconds in one Facebook group was me. Gee, ain't I a stinker? (Also those cartoons are now part of the archive of Mike Comix, so go and have a larf) Most of the stories in this universe are actually in their own mini sub-universes. Sometimes each individual episode of a story is. Nuclear wars, riots, mass murders and apocalypses happen with alarming regularity. |

Description |
Right at the end of primary school, I got into anti-foxhunting, anti-animal testing bullshit. All the usual idealistic stuff little kids get into, but grow out of by the time they turn 17, if they're at all well-adjusted. I thought up a pro-violence group called Environment Freedom, which would have WW2-style aircraft and big ships, armed to the teeth, in order to save animals and the environment. Naturally I did a few comics, too. The only surviving one is about the French nuclear tests that were going on in 1995, our propellor planes and solar-powered, converted oil tanker "battleships" take on the French navy and... win? The IRL "version" of this later evolved into Animal Rights Enterprises (ARE), Human Animal Rights Enterprises (HARE) and finally Harmful Action-Taking Enterprises (HATE). Not one of them did any amount of activism or protest of note. More about that can be read on the Alpha Universe pages. |

Description |
A guy called Bob appears in different time periods, and disasters happen to him. The only one I can remember now is 1969, where he accidentally stands underneath the Apollo moon rocket. My brother and I got these things for making plasticine characters for Christmas in 1996 (I remember because we were watching the last episodes of Only Fools and Horses*). It had a section about how to make stop-motion movies with them ("You need an 8mm or Super8 camera with a single-frame advance button"). We didn't have a video camera until years later, and that was a Mini-DV one, so this never got made. We did make Bob himself, though. He lived in front of the pendulum of a defunct fake-antique clock for years, then mysteriously vanished. Also I knew remarkably little about history, so very few episodes got planned. *-You know, that show that ended in 1996, and no more episodes were ever made. |

|
Description |
One of the "Coping With..." books (children's books from the 90's, in the same vein as Horrible Histories but not about history) had a throwaway joke reference to the supposed organisation that made school dinners. They called it Supervisors, Lunch Operatives and Personnel, or SLOP, and it was responsible for school dinners tasting awful. I made one "SLOP Newsletter" with jokes I'd stolen out of the book. My cousin thought it was funny, so I made a few more. I think I made one at school too, which may have fell into the hands of the teachers and eventually the kitchen staff. Joke was on them, I always took packed lunches. |

A very stupid game I made with The 3D Gamemaker. Back in 2002, I bought that software expecting FAR too much of it. The actual games it could make were rather disappointing. The only game I actually finished was about flying around a city in a spaceship, shooting giant chickens. This was a mammoth ~22mb when it was compiled, and uploading THAT to Fortunecity (and over "Free""serve", an ISP which did neither) was a pipe dream. Anyway in 2026 I suddenly remembered this, and discovered T3DGM is now freeeee! So I re-made the game for the 25th anniversary of Felney... with a more Felney-ish theme and custom resources. |

I had the name of this strip back in like 2000, after re-reading some 90's SAS books Some members of Al-Queda or the Taliban did actually infiltrate a US base during TWAT and blow up some planes. Unfortunately they decided to do it with grenades and machine guns, and got shot after only getting one or two. If it was proper terrorists, like the IRA, they'd have put time bombs on all the planes, got away and written a really catchy song about it before the Americans even knew they were there. But the IRA wouldn't attack Americans, of course. They don't want to bite the hand that feeds... |

Based on the reaction of my uni's LGBT society to a club announcing it was ending it's gay night (which nobody went to, also nobody gave a flying fuck if gay people went to the "straight nights", when it was actually busy and they played something that wasn't Abba). His appearance is based on the mascot of The Mineshaft, a notorious pre-AIDS sex club in New York. Oh, and there's a bit of Ditko's Mr A in there, too. As with some other adventure parody strips in SCV series 2, this one had a very cramped and rushed ending. I'll probably re-draw it. |

The original version was a two-pager made in 2006, for the aborted original version of SCV (which was to have been a fanzine for the local live music scene in Cambridge, remember that?). It was also the first thing I'd ever drawn in my modern "realistic" style, after buying How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way like a week before. It also appeared in Stuff From Before I Grew Up, a "penny dreadful" (literally, I sold it for 1p) comic I created to use up assorted material I'd no other use for. The name is obviously based on Xena: Warrior Princess. If I'd decided to revive SCV a month or so later, I would have re-named her "SuperKaren". |

The contract renewal is based on my own renewal for my first job in Japan. Eboni Plus! is based on alternative school that company ran. I didn't work at it, but I did spend many a freezing day handing out flyers for it in Kyoto. I wore like 6 layers and was still shivering. Then it got sunny and I got sunburned. Then some stranger told the company that the gaijin they had handing out the flyers "looks scary", so I got "fired", even though I'd quit. I'd still rather live here than go back to the UK, and get five years inside for owning a book about Hitler and a knife, though. Also this is basically just a Tabakusho strip that was too long to fit in four panels. |

So he moves to the UK and starts writing articles about how "scary" "fighting-type dogs" need to be put down. *-Never forget the Aussie government banned an "assault type weapon" which was LITERALLY MECHANICALLY IDENTICAL to a wooden hunting rifle, which remained legal. They literally and demonstrably acted on emotion alone, literally and demonstrably using the full force of the law to come down on something just because it "looked scary". |

Based on an idea some frog weeb posted on the Sweatdrop forums. He was asking for an artist to work on his amazing(ly generic) fantasy story, which was all written in 90's American English. Once this had acheived sufficient popularity, he freely admitted he was going to dump the artist he was trying to recruit for a "better" (Japanese) one, move to Japan, and have his idea made into an anime. Naturally he was against "fake manga" and "fake anime" made by westerners... but somehow his idea was okay, no doubt because he had a "better understanding" of Japan than the "corporate suits" at Tokyopop or Nickelodeon... despite having never been there. |

An idea for a videogame my brother had. Much like Raptor Squad, he was designing the title screen, but couldn't spell the words, and got me to write them. The title was very 90's, "Mega" was written like graffiti, and "Blasters" was written in big bold letters with loads of circuit board designs in them. What was the actual game supposed to be like? I don't think there was much of a plan beyond "you get loads of guns and kill shit". I can't even remember if it was meant to be a sidescroller, an FPS or a lightgun shooter. |
