POLICE SIEZE HUGE HAUL OF BANNED "VIDEO NASTIES" Police seized a huge haul of illegal foreign horror DVD's yesterday in a dramatic dawn raid on the home of an Ely market trader. Eric Potter, 47, was arrested after complaints from the Fenland Union of Christian Killjoys complained that violent movies such as "Cannibal Holocaust", "Scrapbook" and "The Day Britain Stopped" where being sold on Ely Market in un-cut versions which had not been vetted by the BBFC, The Tory party, The House of Lords, The Womens Institute and the Queen. Constable Brian Mat applauded the operation, saying "150 officers where involved in this operation, which has successfully prevented the sale of this filth and pornography to the general public" |

APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AFTER BRUTAL STABBING Police appealed for witnesses to a murder which took place outside the Raja Barge curry house in Ely on Thursday night. Owner Salim Kaheed witnessed the savage attack, he spoke to the Herald yesterday, asking "Where were the police?, what were they doing that was more important?"
