LOOKING BACK From the Herald of 1980 Industrial unrest results in Fenland Mountain Rescue strike. The current state of industrial disputes in Great Britian today resulted in a walk-out by the Felney Mountain Rescue squad, both members of the team stood outside their shed with picket signs demanding better pay and conditions. Meanwhile the Army took over their duties as an emergency measure. An army spokesman was heard to say "Is this a joke?". A Mr Reg Ellesway didn’t see the funny side however, as he was stuck on a molehill for almost 3 hours From the Herald of 1955 A gang of "Mods" who commited a horrendous attack on an elderly pensioner were sentenced to 25 years behind bars today. On the 3rd August they approached Lionel Buntingthorpe in Ely high street before suddenly and viciously launcing a paper plate filled with spray-on cream into his face.
