This page archives most of the old news updates from way back when this site was first started, and contained only an in-progress Doom wad and a handful of stupid .gif animations. Anyway, as these updates are just pasted in from the news pages of the time, most of the links in them are either dead, or no longer links. However, most of the stuff is still kicking about on the site somewhere, so you should be able to find it. ...until 12th October 2023 when, having a slow day at work, I (started to go) through and fixed every link! I also added many new ones. ...But that was boring and annoying, and a lot of the old updates are unreadable nonsense anyway. So I made the Potted History page instead, which is an easier-to-understand list of what went up and when. |

5/9/00 New news page started,so there-also more insanity animations-guy forks, offensive, trains and shinra direkt-go see em in the insanity section 6/9/00 Welp, started collage today,so expect to see very few updates for at least 3 years, hell maybe a little 'this is an update-here' every 6 weeks to keep it online-but no new animations,no more work on anarchy doom (whic'll give legacy-with-scripting time to come out)-oh well, theres always the chance of fan contibutions...(fans? Hah!)-anyway,there are two new animtions in insanity-square (a romantic philosophical bridge scene, with one illogical conclusion) and an insanity 'trailer' -one good thing-i dont go on Monday! Woohoo! 9/9/00 Two more levels done on anarchy doom, well actually theyre the same level repeated, one where you finish it by walking forward, then an intermission, then the same level again-where you fight the omega bot.Now theres only one more level to do,but that doesnt mean itll be released soon-theres a lot of de-hacking a sprite drawing still to go,not to mention sounds for most of the enimies 14/9/00 Corrected the dates-7,what was i thinking?-anyway,i started college properly and havent had time to do anything-check out the new animation 'dinosaur' 22/9/00 So youve been to school for a year or two and you know youve seen it all.... Anyway, anarchy is very nearly finished, but nowhere near being released. And theres some more insanity animations that where made up quickly and are fairly short-oh well, theyre 'shinra driving school'-if youve ever seen 'i like trucking' on not the nine o clock news then you'll get this-and theres 'sweet dreams'-where the security system comes into effect. (nicked off ssdd) 24/9/00 Another new animation, computer rage. Also on anarchy doom a lot of modifications have been completed on the first level, you can now sink into a tank of chemicals and a room now has a lot of detail, such as tools on a workbench and a drill, also theres a sign above the enterance for thompson fuels,a made up company-but petronas is real-other recent stuff is some sounds have been changed and the uzi looks better (as good as my crappy paint sk1llz allow anyway) Also-im starting with the ideas for me next T.C-I'll leave the names for now:The gun/Tedddy bear wars/Galactic conquest/Bughunt 2-or-INSANITY! SAME DAY:I Gotta messageboard!-probably doesnt work, but still-POST ON IT!!!! 25/9/00 Now theres a WORKING messageboard-as has already been done-so go and post on it-I also figured out how to do doom deep water so ive put summa that in,none of its deep enough to swim in but its just for the sake of complete-ness (and its cool to watch a police chopper fall in,with only some bits of wreckage poking out). Also for the other tc ideas i'll put up an info page for them soon 26/9/00 A new animation, the cone,is up-also my doom wad page is up on angelfire-it has bughunt, skewl and the core on it,the link is in the anarcho-doom section 27/9/00 Found a few 'stick death' ripoff sites today,so i had to make my own-check out stique death, the new section, also theres a link to the page on me-with the evil pic! 29/9/00 A story-i got a flash-making program, installed it,ran it,had a heart attack, recoverd, tried to draw a shinra soldier in its excuse of a program,laughed,uninstalled,forgot.-looks like this site is gonna be sticking to gifs for now. Also the 'me' page has some pics of my last day at skool-that was put in yesterday but i couldnt be arsed to change this 5/10/00 Havent updated in ages,oh well-my doom wad page has been updated (link in anarchy doom section) with br-a twilight warrior level-and skewldm-a deathmatch version of my school.Another animation is up in the insanity section too,the missile-also for the insanity comic,i might start doing short ones on a contnious story, like road waffles (a comic on keenspot-look in the links section for s.s.d.d-then look in his link section for road waffles) 6/10/00 Thats right sportsfans!-the new, daily insanity comic is started-the downside?-less animations-but oh well...The first one is the story of terra,so go read it! 10/10/00 The interfering of a generally interfering person prevented me from updating this sooner, anyway issue 5 of the comic is up,and the links page now includes cool sites like road waffles,bi.org and metallica sucks!-git dere nahhhw! 16/10/00 The doom page has been improved-and the screenshot is a different one at last, the alien weapon in the docklands level 17/10/00 Anarchy doom is dead, thanks to inkworks deleting all the files when i put a coulormap in,if anyone knows how to undo this, they might tell me...otherwise its onto something else for me 20/10/00 The site is now insanity only,i'll make some different insanity pics maybe, but fortunecity are dicks when it comes to uploading pics (part 15 of the comic was up for half an hour with no pic cause i was trying to upload it) Update-i forgot to upload this with the rest of the stuff, shit! 23/10/00 Noticed that the dates on the comics are for the day before-but its fixed from now on-AAAAnd a few more links have been added/alterd-including a link to the site that made my kick-arse logo, for free, and in under 30 seconds!!! (try and tell me your NOT interested) 24/10/00 Added some background sounds around the site 25/10/00 Ive started to make insanity doom!,so far there are some weapons (punch, sword, uzi, rifle, double rifle,w-machine guns, rocket launcher, flamethrower and GPMG)-not all the weapons are done yet,and the rifle will probably change cause its really crappy looking. Also the uzi and GPMG are straight out of anarchy,so you know what thyre like-the flamethrower is from the flame.wad-and the de-hack for the sword is from a lightsaber patch (and works really well).Theres also two enemies done, the shinra soldier and soldier:1st,and the chaingunners gonna be a mighty grunt 6/11/00 Looks like fortunecity went down for a while, but now everythings back and the uploading works!!!!!!,hum, anyway the profiles page is in the process of being re-done as the comic characters 8/11/00 Fortunecity have fucked again-it took half-a-friggin hour to upload #33,in other news,#34 is in a better resolution so its small, but a little slanty-damn £70 scanner! Also i think this site is getting to the politicians, theres this damn military helicopter flying round near my house right now 13/11/00-God save road waffles! Yes,thats right- Road waffles is back!-hopefully its got as much insane violence and murdering as before!-on a related note, the latest S.S.D.D Is pretty funny too. Now,then, what i came here to do-Insanity doom is progressing pretty well, the rifle has been re-done in a 3-d model thingy so it looks...slightly better. And now the secret level is that from the otaku convention wad, just cause.Also-find tei tenga, its an excellent wad for zdoom which reminded me a little of apocalypse now 17/11/00-Kill BT The infamous BT telemarketing call is now in the Rouges gallery ,if you havent heard it get it now (its a zipped .mp3)-also in the rouges gallery is some of my altered songs that ive done,i discoverd im actually good at it 21/11/00-Bit late... Changed the Insanity needs you! Page to something simpler, and made the old 'charchters' page into a W.T.F? 23/11/00-God save doom legacy! The doom legacy 'release candidate 1' is released,it contains the beta scripting and 3-d floors that weve all wanted (but no docs on how to implement them)-other than that its pretty standard, with the blackness around transparent textures/holes in gl mode and other stuff that were used to-also it doesnt seem to support linedef 270 (swimmable water) anymore, which some of the levels in insanity depend on-so im gonna go have a bitch in thier forum soon...anyway go to the Legacy site and git it iiiin! 24/11/00-No 50! Insanity comic has reached issue 50,with NO known readers and NO feedback-aint it great 25/11/00-SOMETHING!!!!!!! I made a game for you lot to download,it has nothing to do with insanity, but the next one will, and the links page is updated 4/12/00-Condemned in the press, banned in parliment... Updates!!!!!-Right,the songs page has a new one (which was actually put there a few days ago)-the first insanity videogame is out,in the Rouges gallery -Also the first insanity fanfic is finished and is there as well (it follows the start of insanity and the 'star wars' storyline-which has just ended).I also found a cool site at www.otakuworld.com/toys which has various free animie-inspired games for download (get neophyte-koplios story-it RULES!)-annd the newest RW Is hilarious! 6/12/00-Oh shit! The british goverment is intending to introduce under-16 curfews!-they must be stopped-burn a flag/spray a bush shelter/put up posters/write letters-DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!-They will be announced in the queens speech at christmas-so dont watch it! 9/12/00-Lateness Its up later than it should be today cause i been doing tonsa shit-like starting the new insanity RPG in the games factory (6 levels and its still only the inro!)-and revamping most of the doom site (i needed to do something with it or angelfire would shut it down from inactivity)-then my brother got duke3d to weve been friggin around on that-well i could use wintex to steal shit outta it later on (and i thought of a great doom wad based on american mgee's alice-duke nukem in wonderland-should be pretty funne!) 12/12/00-Haley! Yep,haley has returned to Road waffles (did yesterday-but the image was fucked-but is now fixed). Also insanity is now on a comic list!-i'll put a link to it in the link section sooner or later (later knowing me).Anyway todays update:The WTF? Has been changed, thankyou. 16/12/00-Skewl revistited Ok,now weve all played my skewl.wad for doom2 right? If you havent its here Well-ive started to make an update for it,this will feature alinged and fixed textures, better level design, storyline, modifed enemies (wearing the school uniform!),modified guns (including some cool twice-risen-style lasers!) and more detail-expect it fairly soon! 21/12/00-Ok,maybe not Well,i decided 'sod this' and started some more work on insanity doom instead-level 5 cant be finished cause of legacy fucking about so i cant test it-but i have made some improvements to the other levels.Like level 1 now has some diffrent features-also originally i put in all the textures from this massive pack-but now ive deleted all of them and took about 3 megs off the file size 29/12/00-Stars and stripes-of corruption! The latest version of legacy kinda supports swimmable water..so now i can get on with insanity doom.Anyway i made a 'rant' in the Rouges gallery About why doom is better than half-life! Oh-get 'frankenchrist' by the dead kennedys!-everything on there RULES! 31/12/00-Just a thought! Hey politicians/psychologists and NASA workers sitting snug in your chairs, eating apple pie and wtaching jerry springer-you got the millenium bug fixed right?-so now all computers recognise 00 as 2000?-well what about 01?-1901? You may now shit yourselves 1/1/01-Or maybe not Ok,maybe not The profiles page is being brought up to date at the moment, with relm, tifa, cloud, kefka and all the other people its missing-also ive thoght up some original characters so expect some weird shit to come, like the 'evil mutant hitler' charcter (who is nice-cause the original one was evil) Hmm,onto the latest DooM news-i downloaded ROD from the team kill site, and tried it,it (of course) refused to run. Also i went to the page about fraggle script and downloaded some shit-none of it works. Therefore insanity doom will remain scripting free no matter what 4/1/01-Its done! Finally finished making the comic index, where you can jump straight to a certian issue and find out just what the hell is happening. 5/1/01-Updated enemy page The enemies page over at My DooM site has been updated, also some guy said that most of the zip files where corrupted-so i'll be uploading re-zipped wads tomorrow that should work right 7/1/01-Big panda Ive signed up for a comic list called bigpanda, cause well everybody else does!-but am i being conformist or spreading anarchist ideas further?-awnswers on a postcard to:THE UNCENSORED FUCKING ADVENTURES OF SOME FUCKING ANARCHISTS AGAINST FUCKING CENSORSHIP SHITARSEDICKWANKSHITFUUUUCCCKKKK! 11/1/01-Hmm,i seem to not have been accepted... Looks like i havent got into bigpanda,oh well!-I started a new section called 'agony anarchist' where you can get REAL answers to all those questions about AIDS when you already know the answer!-email some in today! 14/1/01-Room 101-NOW! Its issue 101!,also the index page has been altered slightly and the ME! Page has been updated,as if anyone cares 21/1/01-At lasssssst Well, its back on track after the embuggerance with 'free''serve' and theres another actual story-thingy developing now, rather than some stupid mincing around. Also i wrote a new song!,find that in the rouges gallery in the songs section. 22/1/01-HALEEEEY! Haley is reeeealy back at road waffles now!.Also i corrected the song from yesterday-and added a new one: 'alternative hentai'-check em out Here Twats of the day: www.marijuanaaddiction.com First for being prohabitionist-and second for so-blatantly-its-funny nicking thier design from www.urban75.com 25/1/01-STUFF! I cleared the news page again!-Also,the profiles page has been updated with some better pictures of the characters (Vincents so cuuute!).Also theres another link in the links section-to the official archive of stuff!,run by me good friend (kinda) minette le chaton. 29/1/01-Linkage Some more links have been added, like the brilliant (and bisexual, and british) comic jake the rake!,And some pissed rednecks who can be laughed at in the 'burn all gifs' shite,er sorry, site!.Hmm,also i got MSN messanger so people can contact me at m_deathbringer@hotmail.com ...And a new series of futurama has started on sky, which is a great larf! 1/2/01-MWAA! I tried to get onto keenspace to start a new comic called felney,But this now results in me getting 27 stupid mails like its a forum or something. So now anything with keenspace or [keenspace] in it is blocked from my e-mail,I might still start felney though,on a fortunecity site!-Also theres another song in the songs section, its a pretty lame one-but had to be done! 2/2/01-Heres somewhere i dont belive in I put up a new item in the rouges gallery called 'Everything you wanted to know about anarchy-but where afraid to ask'-Its there to explain the real meaning of anarchism, and what anarchists want FortuneSHITTY couldnt pick a worse fucking day to break down! Not only do i have TWO sets of those new buttons to upload (I gave up doing the second set, incase yer wondering about the ones in the archive)-But since fortunecity have shut down FTP acsess (for an unspecified reason,of course) i have to do them ONE BY FUCKING ONE using the file manager, which DOESNT support multiple uploads, wants your password for every second page it loads (Including error messages),And crashes every third upload (Occasionally wanting a password just so you can see the error message)-Well anyway, the latest comic is up,the site will be sorted out once FTP acsess is re-allowed (If they can manage THAT) IDIOTS,THIS PLACE IS RUN BY IDIOTS!!!! Update-10:44 GMT-I finally got back FTP acsess-ahh the sweet taste of 'connection established' 3/2/01-Buttons,whos got the buttons I added the buttons to some more of the pages, like the animation section-The anarchy section is up-but theres not much there right now 4/2/01-Wanna play a little game? I added a new games section to the site!-This contains the two (soon to be 3) games that ive made-And will also soon have some online ones-powered by vitalize! .Vitalize! is a super cool extension for internet explorer (And i think theres a netscape one too) which allows you to put games factory-made-files into websites!-And cause the games factory is so easy to use,i think this allows us to all say UP YOURS SHOCKWAVE! -Soo,anyway you should be seeing some online games soon-and some TGF-made animations as well!-Go get vitalize now! 5/2/01-Wanna play another little game? Damn this games factory stuff is getting addictive, for all those of you who listened to my nagging and got vitalize!-theres now an online game for you to play! Ive added some more of the characters to the cast page,Which are some of the other non-main people in the comic and the animations. Also the insanity RPG has been started,well-ive got sprites for terra, celes and locke-Unlike the last attempt, this will have FF6-Style SD charcters, with huge heads and eyes on small bodies-ahh well it looks cute! 21/2/01-Hehhhh Ive started the insanity please RPG,Well, the intro is being done-Im up to about where terra wakes up in lockes house...Also,I got a Stiff little fingers CD,OMG! Unlucky 13th!..well it has been for me...First i get constant annoyance from THEM,then when THEYre not glued to my back RPGmaker is fucking up in all different ways. Well anyway, despite the fuckups the world map for insanity please is finally completed,I'll get started on the intro and the narshe bit later on and you'll be playing (an early beta of) this thing before you know it! 16/4/01-Ok then... Right,im off to disneytopia in france for a week,so the comic will stay on the 15th of april's issue till i get back-I wont bother filling in the gap,but carry on with it when i get back Also-I been working flat-out on the insanity please RPG,expect an early release soon after i get back 22/4/01-OI! Ok,i got back yesterday, the comic restarts today! 26/4/01-HAHAHAHA!!!!! Yes,i decided i would also take the piss outta that stupid lawsuit against video game, film companies and bands-The parents never fucking realise that it was the bullying and the teachers that are to blame-but the tossers cant hack it and make a scapegoat for it (Next they'll be blaming id software for all the homlessnes and unemployment and sticking em in death camps i suppose)-As the strip says,Doom doesnt make me violent, taking it away from me will. And if they do ban violent games us klickers can make our own ones anyway.I wouldnt worry though, the defence has such a strong case (Anyone who has played doom and NOT shot up a school is a possible witness for the defence)-This is gonna be laughed out of court (Unless the justice system is even more retarded than i think) 29/4/01-200!! Ok,its the 200th insanity please today!,who'dve thought it would come this far?-Anyway to celebrate ive started another 'So outrageous it'll make you an anarchist' storyline,Also ive uploaded a doodle called 'Rule terrania' and a page for my sailor moon pisstake,in the Misc section-While yer there check out my new ultra-offensive song: Being a doomer!.The links section has also been updated and all the scum removed 6/5/01-Arce I got abode photoshop the other day,and i been using it for colouring stuff (See felney),soo anyway,i coloured a doodle of vinny ive been meaning to scan for a while now,its in the misc section 7/5/01-Oh god why did i marry you? Er,well anyway, ive updated the 'me' page with a few more bits, and simplified it...also there is now a news archive with all the old stuff in it (see link at top) 8/5/01-Blind acceptance is a sign,of stupid fools who stand in line..like THL! Yes the cunts at thin H line have blocked by IP adress or something from viewing them, well fucking done!-These tossers are obviously still living in the 19th century, and support blatant ageism and class discrimination like its funny or something Also-A new picture 'Outrage' is uploaded,in the misc section Oh,also, your hero and mine, ronnie biggs, was arrested early today as the army flew him back to england,he is now behind bars...even though i heard they had dropped the charges against him-seeing as he was on the run for years...But then thats the kind of back stabbing you'd expect from the government FREE RONNIE! 12/5/01-oops First off,THL is down for a reason, and the maker is not to blame, the nazi that resulted in it being shut down is (I wonder if i can legally transfer the comment of 'cunt' over to that person and not clay),apologies to all concerned there And now for a message from microsoft: Hey,is your word 97 becoming boringly easy to use? Upgrade to word 2000 and get all these exciting features! -Instead of linking to images normally,it copies your images, renames them and links to the different image, even if the one you are trying to put into your html file is in the same directory. This feature is great cause it takes up more hard disk space and cant be turned off! -When you insert a picture it automatically resizes it to 'barley visible' level, this is great for all those who like to see thier pictures through an electron microscope -The drop down menus have half the stuff on them hidden -The open file menu is confusing and slow -Saving takes at least 5 times longer than in word 97,providing it doesnt crash -Random crashes ensure excitement and loss of vital documents See,all these great features! Buy Microsoft word 2000 TODAY! 18/5/01-Mnip Altered the 'me' page again 2/6/01-New site Ok,the new site design is up! Most of the sections are ready to go,but a few are still being made, the cast section should be up by tomorrow 3/6/01-News Ok,now you can actually acsess the news page from the site! Okay, one flash animation made!,its not exactly miss dynamite standard but it is flash!-gotta love vectors (mm...zooming) anyway,if you wanna see this 20 second (at most) soundless masterpeice goto the misc section (better animations will be done,i promise) 18/6/01-The perfect crime! Yep,the news page has been cleared again!,the second felney flash movie i was making has been junked cause, well it was crap. Also the doom site on angelfire is being re-made and should be uploaded soon 28/6/01-Okaayyy Maybe not so soon.. Also, the games section is now working,it has the two TGF made games (the space battle one is gone) in it,the RPG will probably be too big to store on fortunecity,so that will have to go somewhere else 2/7/01-Filthy lucre aint nothing new I found some leaflet i graffited on back in school-now online for the first time,to show the fuckers what i really think of them! Find it Here 5/7/01-The only doom i knew of came in green and blue cans I added some more people to the cast page-Tina's girlfriend (who i named ann as a spur-of-the-moment thing),Mister hilter (the teacher) and the pedophile farmer from off the train 6/7/01-The time is right for me now I added a new flash menu to the site, check it out 22/7/01-FUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!! Word XP is identical to word 2000-IE SHIT! And the comp cant run XP and 97 together can it,no you have to virtually install 97 to edit html files and XP for word files.BULL FUCKING SHIT!! Also,i missed issue 50 yestarday due to not being here, its in the archives for reading though 01/8/01-Ahh At last july is over, god that month was dull,i thought it'd never end! Hmm,there was this thing taking the piss outta pedophiles on recently that offended tons of people...so i gotta copy it! Watch out for Nonce sense! Also,I uploaded a new thing in the misc section- Sex pistols comics! Which takes the piss out of an nsync comic i saw once 13/8/01-Game As a slight break from making stuff on the doom wad im making a felney videogame,Its done in the games factory and will mainly be a platformer zombie blasting one, also there will be a driving section and other felney related stuff...coming soon! 16/8/01-Blah David got a new graphics card today...doom legacy GL in 800x600 and 32 bit colour looks gorgeous!,Pity about all those texture errors really...Anyway i uploaded two sets of doodles in the misc section,in the second one the blue 'cat girl' and the bright blue haired anarchist girl are minettes characters,"The gun" is a redisign of the gun from my first good comic (Not online, and probably never will be) and as for the cute light-brown haired guy with glasses....you'll meet him shortly 25/8/01-Game The felney videogame is done!! Back to college tomorrow! Gah! As a kind of "Final farewell" for a year i did a big load of updating to the site, the cast page has had a total refit, the anarchy section has had another thing added to it and i put a pic in the misc section of "Ye legend of felney" 14/9/01-Yes,no you cant, but you can if you know why The updating scehdule has been changed from Friday-Monday to Saturday-Tuesday,This will take effect on Saturday 22nd of september 29/9/01-Each dollar a bullet Okay, its late because of a long series of annoyances and outside events beyond my control, but anyway, the main site has a new menu, and the rest of the pages have had it removed, and a new fanart has been added 30/9/01-AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH After almost a day of trying, ive reverted back to the old flash menu, the newer one worked fine offline, but when i tried to add it to the site (and stopped my cache from fucking up and displaying the old one) the frames for each of the descriptions just kept fucking up,this might have been down to my connection-but even if it did work for everyone else i have to be able to navigate my own site,so me comes first If any flash-knowing people are reading this then maybe they could help me give it a working pre-loader..dunno why i bother asking though, nobody ever bothers 7/10/01-Yep Inspired by urban 75's flash-tastic map of wales,i made The hitch-hikers guide to felney! 9/10/01-Crap fact: I added a felney fact thingy to the bottom of the index page,go and look at it shiteness! 13/10/01-More games Ive added a driving game and a shooting game in the games section, theyre both pretty rushed though-but fun! 14/10/01-Just because youre paranoid it doesnt mean theyre not watching you Ive fixed the bugs in the old new flash menu so that it now works,BUT if you use shit "services" such as freeserve then it wont load because they cant handle a 300-odd K file,so there is also text links to all the main sections underneath the current comic strip 24/10/01-BYAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRP! Okay the comic is 3 days late because of fortunecitys FTP royally fucking up,but they fixed it at last (after my email to tech support that began with "Dear monkeys-ooh ooh ooh ooh ohh!").Anyway theyve already done enough so the comic is going to be moved to keenspace where it can actually be up;loaded ON TIME!,most of the site will stay on fortunecity though but the main page will be http://felneycomic.keenspace.com after its set up (nothing there now) 9/12/01-He only introduced me to a wider reality Yep,still on fortunecity at the moment.Ive started a new section of the site- Animations ,its not on the site menu yet though because ive seen enough of flash for the time being,i'll sort that out tomorrow maybe.anyway go and "enjoy" the first felney movie! 14/12/01-Do they owe us a living? Added a new pic of mike to the fanart section, and no he hasnt got a tache, that was a mistake ^_^ 29/12/01-Carst! Updated the cast page,at last! 31/12/01-Huh Last strip of 2001..and due to davids meddling its being uploaded in the last hour of 2001... We need another computer... Fuck/Knows/When-AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Please read this page: http://www.livejournal.com/users/deathbringer/day/2001/12/31 12/1/02-Downtime Fortunecity are suspending service from 13th to 16th of janurary,so no comics till thats over-i dunno if the page will remain online or not. Also ive got a joint-aching desease so im gonna lie down, this chair is hell-Thats also why thr comic is up earlier 21/1/02-Important update If you havent been following my Livejournal,Opendiary or the Forums then you wont know the situation..fortunecity where supposed to go down from the 12th to 16th of janurary, instead they where down from the 15th to the 17th..and FTP acess has only just started working again.During this time my scanner has fucked so future comics will be drawn on the computer for the time being..,regular comics will re-start with tom orrows (Tuesdays) issue. Im also working on a new Flash movie based on an orginal idea and not any of the comics ^-^.It uses a clip from the song "Power in the darkness" by the Tom robinson band,Who are an ultra cool band all anarchist bisexuals should hear ^-^ or anyone else for that matter-nomatter what your sexuality "Glad to be gay" will stick in your head for ages..and if you are gay you'll love his sexy voice too ^-^.Also a new picture has been added to the Fanart section 26/1/02-Missed this As of yesterday (25/1/02) Felney was 1 year old...my scanner had to be fucked though so i couldnt do anything special..when (if) i get it back working i'll make something special to commemorate it 29/1/02-Do you really belive in Art? ART SUCKS! Well, the crap in the tate gallery does anyway..Ive started to put the pictures onto the site into seperate HTML pages with descriptions on them,So that people can learn about the picture and so i can outside link to the pictures from message boards without people being led to a "Fortunecity-100 megs of free space!" logo (though thats now been downgraded to 25..at least it says so in thier emails,i cant get into the file manager to check how much space i have/have used). Anyway, pictures by me and pictures of other peoples characters will eventually all be on a main page of the Art section, pictures by me of my characters will also go into the Misc section, and pictures of other peoples will ONLY go into the art section..this is only in progress at the moment though,so for any pics go to the misc section or browse the art directory HERE 30/1/02-Yee Ive finally got my keenspace account!!!!!! Yee!..I'll set it up and start to move the comics over onto it over the weekend. Also ive updated the links a bit 1/2/02-Pic The current pic in the Me section has been updated to one i actually like ^-^ 3/2/02-Sing if youre glad to be Keen Yep,the move to keenspace has finally happened!.Im not even sure if the archive and all that are gonna even work properly yet *prays* but i can hope anyway ^-^. You may notice a lot of inconsitencies with the site at the moment, like the fact that most of the sections are still on fortunecity (and they will remain there) and a lot of the pages have a black background and not the image (the pages will stay divided for the time being,im not sure if i like the image yet) also on a lot of the pages the "back to the main page" link leads to the fortunecity page. Just bear with me and things will become sorted out in time ^-^;; i hope Update Ive updated most of the Fortunecity-hosted sections to have the background image in them 4/2/02-Yep The background image may have looked cool, but damn did it hurt my eyes when i tried to read things,so away it goes and back comes the dark green of the original felney site from janurary last year! ^-^,except that was a slightly lighter shade than this but ooh well Update Im gonna create a "Destroy the monarchy" wallpaper soon ^-^ in the spirit of the great "boat trip" 6/2/02-Art Ive started the Art section up,so go there! 10/2/01-Fan Art Ive got a new fanart from Minette, its of Ann and very funny ^-^ XD..also i started up a new section dedicated to the onion and other parody news sites- The Felney herald Its a pisstake of the attitudes of the people in the village, and what passes for "news" around here 18/2/02-New thing!!! Ive made a felney "trailer" with some images partly explaining why i made this site, its in the Animation section and you need flash to view it 21/2/02-Thier days are numbered Another new animation, Relative removals! Are you fed up with your overbearing and obssesive parents? Then bring them in to be subjected to torture!. Unfortunatley we live in a barbaric and unfair society so the fuckers can pretty much get away with it...for now.. 23/2/02-FREE CAP! I have finally escaped ezboard and got a forum at keenspace! Dont delay, visit today! 24/2/02-I EAT BABIES!!!! KILL!! If youre one of those totally insane people that enjoys polluting your page with other peoples banner ads willingly, you'll love these new images! The "warping childrens minds through subliminal messages" look The "Sex sells and i love it" look The "If the daily mail was right" look 5/3/02-Yuggle Added more links to the links section, including the based-on-a-true-story-which-is-very-scary Mint gum ,and the totally hilarious Brampton bugle -what the felney herald aspires to be..XD 17/3/02-SOLIDARITY Ive updated the Me page 23/03/02-They just sit on thier overfed arse, feeding off the work of a less fortunate class The felney herald has once again been updated, this time it has banner ads of local businesses on it too,all of which are totally real, honest! 29/03/02-I know a girl who lived on my street freedom was her naaaaame I addded yet another parody,Q666,and made a new page to organise them all together 13/04/02-Hardkore thumbnailzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Ive completley updated the Fanart page and added two new pictures 27/04/02-"I said im not buying it! Bonjour!" *slams phone down* Thats right, the next 7 comics are guest comics by the local fan from sunny france,Banshee! ^-^ 12/5/02-Okey Okay, actually there was 8 comics from banshee XD,anyway ive altered the colour scheme of the websites main pages a bit,and used a cool font from Crass CD's ect, which you can download if you go to the bottom of the main page 27/5/02-Work work and work your arse off,the only one smiling is your sun-tanned boss.. Ive made a few minor design tweaks to some pages of the site, mainly a darker background, more black boxes for the text and (hopefully eventually) fixed the link to download crass.ttf so you can view the site the way its supposed to be 17/6/02-Slaughterhouse 5, Cattle 0 Ive updated the Cast section with Mei yonghong, from planet felney. Also two new comics have joined the redspace dropdown.. ^-^ 20/6/02-One day to go!!!!!!!!!! The Art section has had a large update made to it,also i turn 18 tomorrow ^-^ 2/7/02-Who wants go have a go on a boaty-woaty? Well you cant, you can however fly through an asteriod field in a space car, or tear down the M1, or blast aliens at the NEW, working felney games page! http://www.geocities.com/deathbringer666uk 7/7/02-bbbbbbayd! Ive changed the way the characters are drawn a little, theyre now a bit more anime-esque, especially with the eyes. Im gonna start up a poll in the forums to see what people think of new new style, and weather or not it should stay.. 20/7/02-I actually wrote this date backwards, can you tell? It happened a while ago, but ive reverted the drawing style back to the old style. Also Felney UFO blaster 2 has been released at the games page, and this also happened ages ago but my keyboard was buggered so i couldnt make news updates without using a virtual keyboard thingy and driving myself mad, but now i have a new keyboard so here is the update, yay 27/7/02-And that... Ive updated the links section, removed links to dead webcomics and added a link to the brilliant Nobody loves the whiner . Also im gonna make a few comics for a special felney feature, which will be called "Stop shitting yourselves about that damn rock and cheer the fuck up already" XD 28/7/02-Nazis walk among us Yep, todays comic actually happened last night, i was leaning out of the window due to heat, when a light flicked on and i turned to look as a natural reaction, and saw adolf hitler in black and white dramatisiation-of-my-hero-vision staring right back... i wonder who actually lives there?. Also, ive updated the Felney herald for the first time in millenia 01/8/02-flashback-flashback-FLASHBACK! I tried to make a "dress up tina" vitalize application only to find theres no version of vitalize that yet supports things made in my version of MMF..duhh!. Anyway, ive also put a new picture in the Art gallery 05/8/02-Yay Clickteam got off thier arses, so you can now Dress up tina! XD, dont forget you can use the arrow keys to scroll the page, and be sure to read the advice at the bottom 09/8/02-I HAEV HAXORED +HIS COMIC!!!!!!! I'll be going away for a week, leaving tomorrow, but the comic will update, i'll just be absent from the forums and cant reply to email (like i get any) 18/8/02-XD I was back yesterday, but didnt have the energy to do a comic, but i will still do 4, they will just be a day out..Also ive changed the tone of tina's hair slightly, but you probably wont notice..XD 20/8/02-New pic Yet another new pic of me can be found on the Me page 3/9/02-Opera is good, because gangsters can sing along as they kill people Ive updated the Cast page a bit, with new profile text for some of the characters. Ive also made a few little alterations to the section about me and the links, because my girlfriend is..not my girlfriend anymore, just my best friend XD 5/9/02-OI OI OI,UNITE AND WIN! GET TOGETHER, YOU PUNKS AND SKINS! Ive made a new Planet felney game over at the Games page 13/9/02- _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ will be _ _ _ _ against the wall I added a new comic to the links section, and took out one because it never updated, alough the one thats there hasnt updated for longer, but i only just discovered it so that doesnt count XD 16/9/02-Can we ever retreat from the destruction ahead? Another links update, the tired and pathetic rpg world is out, replaced by the far, far superior Anicons 6/10/02-Youre gonna kill him for not liking sum 41? Ive updated and overhauled the Felney herald as part of a site re-design which will happen slowly over the course of a few months.. 18/10/02-Youre gonna like him for not killing sum 41? MAJOR update to the page XD, there are new parody sections online, changes to the front page and "Todays features" table, and an ALL NEW tourist information map for felney on the old index page at http://members.fortunecity.com/deathbringer666/ 31/10/02-Kicked the scum completley off the street, shows that nazis can and will be beat... Only a few months back i was trying to go into an anime-style of comic, and now im reverting back to how felney looked when it was first made XD, ooh well, i can put more detail in when i dont have to worry about photoshop destroying fine details like magazine covers on racks in the background, and there's also MUCH less "post-production" involved, which was the bit i always found most boring XD 02/11/02-Back in black And by that i obviously mean "No longer in black and white", it may take longer to be in full colour but at least it keeps the trend and is good and clear and stuff XD 09/11/02-All the best commercials, and great music too..."excuse me?" Ive changed the method of displaying the banner ads on the felney herald pages so that now it loads an html file in an iframe and the banner is in that file, the advantage being if i want to change the banners or add more new banners to it (which i will, i'll make one for bobs sludge soon) i'll only have to edit one html file and not all of them. Eventually i'll use this method to display the banners on the Q666 page too, and maybe add banners to the other pages (not the comic pages though, just the "felney network" of local businesses and websites, though theyre all made by me anyway but its not supposed to look like that XD) 15/11/02-"I was little more than a peice of meat to them, and now-you can be too!" New page: Freeserve art! People not on the freeserve "isp" will probably not get it XD 17/11/02-What will it be 8th march 2003? Pah, ive managed to go One better with next to no effort! 13/12/02-Herald update Ive finally moved the keenspace HTML stuff over to my new computer so i can make updates to the news again, and correct bugs on the front page that werent obvious in 800x600. Anyway, the Felney herald has been updated (on the 12th) and im thinking of starting some new sections to the site including -A timeline of felney/the world around it (Big bang-Planet felney, with the odd huge time gap XD) -Updates to the anarchy section, at last! (The "fighting for our lives" book, or a link to it anyway. Anarchist images/emblems) -A Bisexuality section -An Aliens section, i belive in extra-terrestrial life but havent got round to mentioning it on the felney site yet XD -An atheism section (perhaps, very tentative) -Photos of the village/other stuff (Very maybe-ish, and my digital camera is rubbish! XD) 22/12/02-Who doesnt brag about wanting to kill thier parents? No new sections yet, but i do have an update to the links section, or rather a downdate seeing as i removed a load of links that are no longer functioning or the sites have gone to shit 10/1/03-Random update I updated the Misc section, the About me section, The parodies section (gave it a full list) and various other little modifications to the website 17/01/03-Felney to be 2 years old on the 25th-Crap wanted! Okay, im now going to feature the current latest news update on the front page as well as in the news page, so that people can stay more up to date on new things added to the site and also see what new sections have been added, or see what updates are made to other things. Now the main news is that Felney will turn 2 years old on the 25th of janurary. So if anyone wants to send in fan arts or something for the anniversary (i wish XD) then Go ahead ^-^. If i get enough i might start a special "second anniversary" page with all the things on, and i will also make a special pic myself just like i did last year (see art section) 25/01/03-2 Years of ANARCHY! Felney is two years old today, but everything is down or fucked up so you cant read this! 27/01/03-Now... Everything is back online, so you can see all the site again ^-^ and catch up on various missed comics 21/02/03-Yes, its happened Due to me not having easy access to a scanner, absolutley nothing happening locally and the wierd unexplained tiredness i keep feeling, Felney is going to have to take a short break, probably only 1 week though, it will be back soon ^.^ 7/03/03-Updates 'n shit The 7th march 2003 page has reached its stupid conclusion XD. Also the felney haitus will probably be ending next week, with a NEW drawing style and NEWISH direction for the comic XD ^-^ wait and see what 'appens! 14/3/03-I know youve got the strength of will to STOP IT! Felney has re-started!, with a storyline the LJ user 'nadezdha' may find VERY familiar XD ^_^ 29/3/03-Update and stuff I guess i should actuallt update the news as well as the site XD, well as you can see we are now in the second 'sex scene week' XD, it should have been last week, but the war thing got in the way. Also i have changed the felney logo to a bisexual anarchist symbol with oi polloi-like celtic writing XD 03/04/03-I wanna beeee,i wanna be a homosexual... Ive updated the Felney porn site, and now i have also included its URL on the actual Felney page. So far there is nothing there that isnt on the main site, but its easier than scrolling through the archives XD. It also has the mike and harry pic from the art section..hm, i might write a comic about that moment specially for the porn page-yaoitastic XD 07/04/03-Insanity Ive added some more stuff to the Misc section 14/4/03-Tina Ive changed the colour of Tina's hair from black to red, back to just red..because its easier to do..and she looks cuter XD 1/6/03-Update I guess it's time to update the page and explain what the hell's going on. As you can probably tell ive currently got very little motivation to do comics, not to mention im running out of ideas about what to put in them anyway. I guess felney is on a(nother) hiatus, but there will be random comics when i feel like it, or if something happens which needs to have the piss taken out of it. On the other hand, i am working pretty well on a Doom project which should be fun to play XD 13/6/03-Bois r us A comic! Yay! XD, okay I was bribed into doing it with some sexy fanart, which you can see at the Fan-stuff page, hehe, its sexy 20/6/03-Mikey I actually got it ages ago, like 3 days after the last one, but theres a new fanart from KJ in the fanstuff section ^-^, its of mike this time, and he has all his clothes on XD 10/7/03-Holy fuck balls!!! Yes, the site is updated, pity theres no new comics, but I will be spending a week with the family in a small caravan soon, which should net me some lovley new racist sayings for kate to use, and I may make a small comic soon poking fun at the gay bishop row, but if you know me you can probably imagine the EXACT dialouge it will have XD. Anyway, onto the main update: The "Timeline of felney" I promised a while ago is finally finished. It can be found Here and covers everything from the beginning of time to..the end of time, but I had to skip some bits XD. When youre done reading that, or skimming the whole thing to see if theres any tits in it, head over to the fanstuff section to take a look at what some michigan journalists have had to say about this website XD 21/7/03-Bax0r Back from my holiday XD, you can see some various photos I took on holiday here also ive updated the Me section (at last) and added some more stuff to the Felney timeline 26/7/03-This is undoutably another SAS book.. New things added, visit things in browser, download things to look at time to time, put them in house and also in cuboard, worry no, things are here XD. Also there will be a guest comic on the 27th 31/7/03-Sexuality, Your laws do not apply to me Hope you liked the guest comics, but that run is completed-though if anyone else wants to send some, go ahead..contact details are in the Me section ^-^. There will now be normal felney comics uploaded every day for a little while, while i have some creative ability in me 5/8/03-Some updates Ive cleaned out the news page again and added all the old news to the archive, that thing is getting huge now XD. Anyway ive altered the Anarchy section (no new stuff..just gave it its own directory) and ive also made some changes to the links (descriptions mostly) 15/8/03-heh I actually did it ages ago, but a new version of Slocoach scambus is up, also ive corrected the link to the "new" anarchy section so you can actually read it 23/8/03-Action camera lipstick lights, Im wearing mercedes tights.. I got sent an updated version of the Michigan journalist's reviews of Felney, now its even longer and even more insulting XD 25/8/03-Supercharged fizzies on the ashpalt.. Ive made some new updates-An amusing new link in the Links section, and a new issue of the Felney herald (after nearly a 6 month absence XD) 31/8/03-Indefatigable Nope, no comics XD (I may make 3 tomorrow to fill in the gap), but im working on an update to the WTF section (which will be renamed Comic guide)..Finally! XD. It will basically explain the meaning of certain comics, and the issues behind them 1/9/03-Safe sex doesn't mean no sex The new Comic guide section is finished!, go and see the amazingly hateful and bile-filled rants related to various issues of the comic today! XD 14/9/03-Eep Sorry for the recent lack of comics, ive been busy (read "playing vice city"), and other stuff. Im slowly working on a grand theft felney website, for a game that probably wont be around until near the end of the decade, the Felney text magazine, and some other random rubbish... perhaps i'll be able to make a few comics over the next 3 or 4 days to make up for the missing ones 19/9/03-Crown victoria Yep, still no more comics, i havent been able to draw recently, lack of sleep, nothing interesting happening (well thats probably not true, ive been too tired to find out), i did draw two but they where rubbish and not worth the time to colour, maybe tomorrow i'll re-do them. Anyway, the first issue of Felney magazine should be out at the end of the month, since typing is one thing i can still do 4/10/03-Aye Ive added a new section filled with old stuff I uncovered when I was digging through my old computer before it was formatted, some of it is quite interesting, find it Here 21/11/03-Wow, a real update! with text and everything! Ive started a new 'side project' comic called Queer as fuck, which is obviosuly a pisstake of Queer as folk XD. I may start making other side-comics like this and put them all together, but Felney will remain as my main comic XD (Readers say: "Why arent you updating it then? you twat!") 17/02/04-Life is shit Ive had quite a bit of trouble in my life recently, including moving into a homeless hostel with my girlfriend, her being sent to one in skegness and me being forced to come back home, no jobs, lack of money, both of us getting depressed about it... more info in my livejournal, still, there will be a few updates while i am at home 01/03/04-It'd be "Hilarious" to make an update tomorrow! Yay, new comic, which is drawn and then coloured in!, pity its still random shite thats got nothing to do with Felney, The fens, or my characters XD. Anyway, i am planning a MAJOR update to the website, including whole new sections, such as Cars and Sexuality, reorganising the existing sections, especially the "Other misc stuff" one, giving the site a new dark purple colour scheme (the red and black is great, but getting on a bit), and even adding in whole new mini-stories and comics, such as the "infamous" (amongst my friends from the school bus anyway) Postman Prat!, stay tuned! 02/03/04-Fucking bloody...YEEEEAAAHHHH! Yep, GREAT NEWS!, Rockstar have announced GTA: San Andreas!, ending speculation and finally revealing what most people predicted, of course, theres not much on the official site right now, but still, its great news!, and i suppose this game will form the central part of the new games section on the redesigned website when it comes
06/05/04-New site! The new site design is coming!, While i work on the fortunecity side of things, the keenspace site (ie this) will remain the same, then be intergrated into the new design when its made. Get ready for a new era of Felney!
11th May 2004-A new error in the anals of Felney Yay, the new site design is online at last!, Be sure to use the new Tag board, or the old keenspce forums, to tell me what you think about it!. Especially if you find any errors or dead links, i had a vast amount of files to upload through my clunky, unreliable connection and its pretty likley some got lost along the way!. Anyway as you will have noticed there is a new colour scheme, new-ish layout (on the keenspace pages anyway...), and some all-new sections!. They are... Cars- Stuff about cars, what i like (classics!), what i dont like (moderns!), and reviews, not much there at the moment but expect it to grow, specially when i remember to take my digital camera out and snap some of those lovely 70's motors i've been seeing around.. "Penny dreadfuls"- Cheap and nasty!, this is easily the biggest and best new additon to the site, remember Insanity please? Queer as fuck? The chosen ones?..well now they're all under one roof!, Its not just recycled old stuff though, You'll also be able to find new stories there such as Postman prat, and the upcoming The fourth reich! Games- What was one of the most neglected sections of the site, is now one of the biggest!, read all about my completed games, upcoming projects, and planned ones..i just hope you dont wanna actually play them (sorry, fortunecity..wait till i can shift Felney software to a paid server), it will also contain Reviews and Previews and all that lovely stuff!. Also an update which hasnt been made in that section yet, is that Insanity please doom is not dead!, i actually found the file recently, so ignore the section saying it was deleted XD Politics/Anarchy- This section has been changed slightly, and i DO intend to add new stuff to it eventually..i promise!! Sex and Sexuality- This new section is all about Sex, Sexual politics, and the Gay scene ect, its quite slim now but will have things added in the end So as you can see..the site has had major updates and is growing rapidly, i have several ideas for things that i will add in the coming weeks/months too..hey, i might even add some Felney comics in!
20th May 2004-Nothing really rocks and nothing really rolls... A few updates to the site, In thePenny dreadfuls section there is now a page about (almost) all of the comic strips i have ever made, and when they where set, so its like "the history of the world in the Felney universe", except that most of them are in the future..oh well, Also i added a new comic section called "The comic of someone who can't sleep!", which is quite senseless and stupid, but read it anyway XD. And finally i also fixed the parodies section, because, as nobody told me, the links all went to files on my hard drive XD
26/05/04- My goriest comic yet?..maybe XD Over in the Penny Dreadfuls section i have posted a new comic called Zombie Shock Massacre XD, Lets just say it starts off with a 19-year old student having an affair with his 43-year old University lecturer, then goes downhill from there! XD, its also drawn entirely with either a biro or a red paint pen, in my brothers innovative style called "Black white and red", ie only the blood is coloured in, it looks quite cool, and using a paint pen means i can make all splatterly effects, which is handy cause a lot of the comic involves hacking zombies up with Axes..So anyway, go and read the 8 pages of madness (with more to come!) Also i have updated the Links with a few more cool comics i have seen, one is a very obscure keenspace one i found through the guide with cute artwork, and another is a very popular 'spotted one that youve probably heard of already anyway XD And finally..i'll make a comic about it once ive done the current storyline, but its about time i re-introduced the news section rant. Ely has always had parking troubles, there is Waitrose, which isnt that big, Ship lane, which is always full and is partly used as residential parking, and Woolworths, which is really big, though not huge but loads of people who work in ely (specially down that area of the city) rely upon it for thier daily parking needs, so what did the THICK AS SHIT council decide to do but invite some SHITTY FUNFAIR to come and stick thier rides over the largest part of it for a week!, you couldnt make it up!..this is just beyond satire..and to think the fucking council woman gave ME a dirty look when i went angrily past revving up, listening to "Breaking the law" and glaring at her after an unsucessful search for a space in the tiny bit they havent filled!. Not that i am against funfairs of course, one year they had it on a green next to Ely cathedral, which was an ideal place!, it was away from a main road, so safe for the kids, right in the centre, and surrounded by beautiful old buildings..oh wait, having it near the cathedral would "Lower the tone" and be offensive..what a load of shit!
30/5/04- Chicken tikka masala, chips and rice! As you can see from todays comic, Felney is taking a new-ish artistic direction. For a start its now going to have a genrally standardised layout on the page, so that all strips will be more or less exactly the same size (allowing for slight scanning errors of course). Also the art is going to become much simpler and cleaner..a lot of the 'spotted comics, such as SSDD, have nice and simple colouring and pretty minimal backgrounds, and thats what i'm gonna be generally going for now. Also, after this storyline, the strip will re-organise a bit and i will remove a lot of characters or reduce them to just Cameos, the ones that will remain as "main characters" are Mike, Aaron, Tina, Kate and Malcom foss..the rest will just have rare appearances when they are needed. And yes that does mean the couple we are concentrating on at the moment will just be reduced to background characters again..oh well XD, i was actually planning on totally re-starting Felney from the first comic again and doing it "again, properly this time!", but then i'd really have to put all the old strips somewhere and that would mean getting a new keenspace account or putting them all on fortunecity manually (never agaiin! XD), so instead i'll just re-arrange the strip in the present time and leave all the old ones up too XD
07/06/04-Mikenote XD Yep, ive decided to re-do Felney after all, though the old Felney will remain online, but all new strips will be marked "FELNEY 2" in the little date thingy at the bottom..when i remember to put it on there anyway. Basically, Felney 2 will be about what i experience in daily life, to show a more realistic view of what life is like in the fens, also some changes will happen, for instance the Mike character will be like me as i am now, whereas the Mike character in old felney was like i was in 2001..ive changed a lot XD. Also characters will generally be based on people i meet in real life, though this will mean the erasing of my favorite characters from old Felney (namely Aaron and Ann..the only two characters to be really 'developed', though they will have cameo appearances, and maybe even 'starring roles' in special strips if i feel the need to...or if people demand it XD), it will mean new characters who are based on real people, and that will mean they will actually act differently to one another XD, Look out for Lee and Naomi making appearances..probably with different names though XD. Also a few of the generic made-up characters will remain, for instance Malcom foss who is based on the local MP, and the job centre woman who is basically a merging of all of the people that work there. Other big changes will include Mike being 19, and with his parents..though that does mean i'll have to make them up (should be nothing like my real parents though, dont want it to be THAT boring!). Well this has been a badly typed news post hasnt it, got hayfever right now... the basic meaning of it is.. Old felney gone, New felney coming, new one based on real life and good, though old characters will change a lot/vanish
12/06/04- Another Mikenote XD, they need a new name Ok, ignore what i said in the previous news post XD, Old Felney will continue on this website, and New Felney will be hosted somewhere else, and called something different, like "Mike comix" XD. Though ive had bad hayfever recently so i havent been able to do any more Felney stuff..did have one about the euro elections but i didnt colour it, and it's now out of date XD (It called the Tories "Unelectable has-been's", and they went and won!). Ah well, for all the Splatter fans out there the final two pages of Zombie Shock Massacre will be made soon, not that they take very long to make..i just took a break. Also i should do some more on The Fourth Reich as well, seeing as i have been reading "Savage" in 2000AD, from which the story is rather obviously taken XD. Hm, ive also started to get into VIPCO vault of horror movies, way back in the late 70's and 80's, when Nerds where not cool (yeah, i know, its hard to imagine now XD), they didnt use to watch Anime, instead they watched what became known as Schlock horror, Splatter movies, or Video nasties, well, now you can get them on DVD for £5.99 a time, ive gotten into them too (well i never liked anime much XD), and i might start a section of the site dedicated to reviewing them, and other cheesy movies XD. Hm, Finally, its my birthday on the 21st *hint hint*, so if you wanna send a few cents using Paypal, do it XD..i could use them to buy a rusty old ford thats been in a hedge for the past 30 years and then restore it, which would give me something to put in the Cars section hehe
07/08/04- Motorway planned through ancient wood/ Triple-S.I's could be lost for good... Right, About time for an update XD. As you may have gathered, the Felney comic has ceased to be, i havent decided to declare it officially 'finished' yet, but its VERY unlikely that it will ever be continued That said, i have a HUGE array of new updates for you all to enjoy. Over in the politics section I have its first update in several years, the Mini-rants! XD, they are basically an array of times that i have "gone up to 4" on various issues in LJ/Forums XD, so..er..'enjoy'. In penny dreadfuls we have a very old, and previously un-seen comic by me, Insanity Please Classic!, go and see the origin of the 'new' Insanity please comic, as well as getting a sample of the stuff me and my mates came up with on the school bus XD. Finally Felney software has had a redesign, so far the DooM section looks good, the rest are quite slung-together, but will be improved sometime. Also i am working hard on getting some doom stuff finished, so you should have something to play pretty soon!.
31/10/04- Halloween! Heh, there hasnt been an update for ages, so here is a big one!. Okay first off, in thePenny dreadfuls section Zombie shock massacre has been completed and all 4 parts are now online. Also the whole thing has been re-scanned and is presented in (marginally, i was experimening and will probably need to re-re scan it sometime) better quality than before. Next in the Cars section we have the Campaign for real cars, and Moderns i like. In the Games section some stuff was added to the GTA: San Andreas preview shortly before its release, though now it has been released that section looks a bit out of date anyway XD. And last but not least, we have a NEW section!. The Felney magazine is a new, monthly text e-zine filled with info on politics, splatter movies, cool websites and more!. Currently two issues are online, the first one from over a year ago, and the second one, for october 2004. Right, i'm off to see if there was a "Fright night" comic crossover this year..if there was thats ANOTHER one i've missed XD
12/03/05 - The last 12th March 2005 ever! Well, here we are with the new site design!, as you'll notice, there's been a few changes. The sections have been re-organised, some areas have been re-designed and there is NO ADS! (You may get ones off the Tagboard though). Also there is of course the cool new drop down menu to make navigating the site much easier. Apart from the new design, URL and menu, there is actually not much new stuff that has been added, the news Iframe and Tagboard have been moved off Keenspace and onto the main site, also the front page news is now yellow, so it can be read in firefox (it used to go all black). More importantly, if you head over to the Felney Software section, all of the released games and doom wads can actually be downloaded, also there is some FF hentai I made in the re-vamped (ish) Sexuality section. All else I can say is enjoy the new design and expect cool stuff like more games, videos and mp3's to be added as time goes by.
01/04/05 - My darkest and most evil comic evar! (Until the next one anyway) Scum Slaughter is finally online!, go to the comics section now to read the first eight pages of it. More should be added over the weekend, including either the beginning of an "I spit on your grave" style story (rape-revenge), or maybe I'll just jump right in to the story of the videogame (Sunitas boyfriend is taken away to be "cured of his attraction to pakistani freaks" by his dad. And she rescues him in a gory way). Also, in the Writing section, the "Old Anarchy" section has now been changed into General written stuff, and includes my report on the UK Web and Mini Comix thing 2005, which was cool, if a bit confusing cause I didn't know many cool people where going and missed a chance to meet them XD Anyway, I have two other comics in the offing, but I wont concentrate on those as much, one is Car Blah, just rambling about cars in the style of "Vented Spleen", and one is Shag Shack 2, which is pure sex, its set in Homonia, the gay homeland, which I dream of making, and will also feature Watling cars, which is the car company I also dream of making (as well as Jaguars, Daimlers, Rovers, Aston Martins, Austins, MG's, Morris's, Singers, Hillmans, Rileys, Sunbeams, Rolls-Royce's and Wolesleys in the way that I would make them after making billions from Watling and buying all those names XD), but those shouldn't be on the site for a while Also considering Re-Re-Making The Gun, an action packed comic set in World War 3, well, Zombie Shock Massacre, later Scum Slaughter and the 2014 storyline of Felney actually all have links with The Gun, so it might be a good idea to put that story on the site, but the old versions are ultra-cheesy and have terrible artwork, so a remake would be in order XD Finally, personal stuff, for once, I went to see Stiff Little Fingers on the 27th of March, coolest experience of my life evar, you MUST see them before you or they die. They said one of the old favorites was actually written in Cambridge, though buggered if I can remember which one, I think it might have been Tin Soldiers though. I'm actually wearing my shirt I got at the gig right now, its from 2004 really but who cares, its red and has a big flame on XD. Its like a dress on me though, my brother did the asking (I did the paying) and he got two XL's XD
12/04/05 - Eurosceptic week!(s) You've probably already noticed the UKIP banner at the bottom of the site, but probably didn't notice that the link was broken cause you went "Who the hell are they?" or "Urg, he supports those racists", well now the link is fixed!. And as an extra anti-EU incentive, the Piss-takes section has been updated with EU News, which is made in the style of a ranting tabloid newspaper, but is pro-europe. Mainly it just calls people racist all the time, and accuses anyone who flies a british flag in britian of offending muslims. Speaking of racism, as in real racists and not just people with legitimate concerns about a bunch of people they didn't elect and who have never visited their country making their laws, Scum Slaughter has gotten into the proper storyline at last, and features Sunita naked for the first time, it only took 14 pages!. The updates have been pretty slow of late, but ought to chug along a bit, I'm gonna put some effort into making updates, at least until I finish the Hunting Holocaust storyline. Speaking of "Urg", I have once again started to re-make my old comic "The Gun", ive been going on about it for a while now, but basically a bloke in World War 3, with a big gun, runs around and shoots people, The re-makes will be in full photoshop goodness, and have decent violence, and a proper plot this time!. Also I'm working on writing up the stories of the original The Gun comics, well partly describing what happens, and partly MST-ing them, expect this to all go up when book 1 of the re-make gets finished. Finally, there has been a bunch of minor tweaks around the site, the story chronology thing has been fiddled with, and I made a 'thingy' which shows how some of my stories referenced my other stories, this will go online sometime later. But it contains a few 'spoilers' of certain things that are coming up in Scum Slaughter at the moment And finally, i got a new fanart!, its from the creator of the super-cool High Maintenance, so go and check it out in the fan-stuff gallery
14/05/05 - Killer "Wore black t-shirts and played computer games" Yep, a new game has been uploaded! (at last!). You might remember, if you followed my Livejournal, that I was planning to make a "101 Offensive Games Pack" using Multimedia Fusion, Except it only had 9 games, I only finished two and discovered it kept buggering up the hi-score table. Anyway, instead I decided to release the games seperatley, and then decided to actually make 101 of them, though so far I have-wo XD, Spak Invaders and Centrefold are online now, in the special 101 offensive games pack section (check it out under Felney software and Klik). I'm also considering setting up a Cafepress store, some designs I have in mind are the above headline on a black t-shirt, another t-shirt saying "I am NOT alternative", and possibly something with FAGSHATEGOD.CO.UK down it, in the style of the new God hates fags.com t-shirts (check the site). Either way I'm gonna include hoodies, get yours before they become illegal!. Who is behind the campaign against hoodies anyway, they must be christians, I wouldn't put it past "Christian voice", the same people who want to ban freedom of speech, and activley campaigned against cancer research. Then again there is also the record number of complaints against that ad where people sing with their mouth full, I'd imagine christian voice are behind those complaints too. I have no evidence to back this up, but then christians almost never tell the truth so I don't see why I should have to when I take the piss out of them.
05/06/05 - Not long till I'm 21 XD See SIN CITY now, you bastards!. Blows Ep 3 out of the water as coolest movie released this year, but then how can you go wrong with Classic cars, Ultra violence and Tits. In fact it gave me quite a lot of inspiration for Scum Slaughter, which, incedentally, will be soon going into Photoshop mode, well I was running out of black pencils XD. Onto website news, the Doom section has had quite a bit of tweaking, some stuff was tidied up, and spell-check ran on some of the pages. A lot of my doom stuff is in a right mess right now, there is the infamous "Lost backups" I'm sure most people who come here for doom know about, and other things just arent being worked on that much, some more detailed info on the doom projects is below. Finally I updated the links section, well corrected the link to High Maintenance anyway XD. Ultimate Hell: This has been knocked back a long way, because I lent my CD of backups to somebody, and never saw him again, and a crash of my computer lost a lot of my stuff. When/If I track that CD down I'll carry on with this. If I don't, I may just release what I have, or re-make the monsters I lost but create all-new levels, which will not resemble anything realistic, like the original plan, they'll just be ordinary doomish levels Bughunt 2: The stuff I lost from this wasn't so bad, one gun sprite (made by Scuba Steve), and a bit of EDGE coding to add a torch to that gun, plus some additional passageways to the ants nest level 1, I'll add the new gun in, and start making the ants nest into a massive, non-linear maze of pitch-black tunnels that you'll need to nose through by torchlight, great XD ZSM: My template zombie sprite has been sent to some guy to have a fiddle with, because its proportions looked wrong in doom, but then again this is a TC, with no doom stuff in it, so that wouldn't be so bad. If I don't hear back from the bloke in question the current template will be used anyway. Or I'll tweak it myself. Insanity Please: Officially "on hold", may either carry on with using Legacy, just have its graphics tidied up and levels finished, or may go into an all-out "from scratch" EDGE version with Magic, tons of new weapons and different shinra enemies/dragons and all that mythological stuff, and scripted bits. Rig Doom: Officially "In Progress", but is only in the planning/discussion stages right now. Some EDGE coding and gathering (stealing) of weapons graphics may be done soon though, to get it underway. Plus I've gotta test out my idea for the water, if this idea works it will be one of the most amazing "natural environments" seen in DooM. Bet it doesn't. Gaydoom/Detective Doom: Waiting to be started The Gun: Awaiting a few of the new version of The Gun comic strips to be completed, this may be years yet. A weapon-only wad of The Gun, for EDGE, may be made sooner though, so you can fight the demons as Steve Gunn (possibly also a skin and status bar face, and MAYBE the zombie enemies being turned into zombified Wolf Force soldiers) Out My Ass: Er, it was finished ages ago. Play it!
09/07/05 - A Rectal rasp blows a hole in his jeans I've bought a Mini XD, with a stripped interior, cage, MG metro engine bits, big exhaust and no stereo, ah well, with the engine sound you don't need Iron Maiden XD. On to the site updates anyway, I've been maintaining a list with the splatter movies I own on it for ages now, along with mini reviews of them all, and I've finally linked to it, under "Writing" on the menu. Emails for what my 100th splatter movie should be are welcome XD. In the Art section there are some photos from the Burwell classic car show, back in June, and finally a special (and out-dated) page has been added to Scum Slaughter. The next page in the actual story shouldn't be toooo long now, I've been doing it in Photoshop colouring instead of using pencils, and another 2 pages have been done in line-art to be coloured
21/08/05 - Want to see some new, quality comics from me? Well you cant, you can see some old, crappy ones though, in the new Rejects section under comics. I also re-designed the menu by the way XD. The splatter movie review list is being 'constantly' updated, without the news pages being updated, so keep an eye on it if you want to know what are the sickest ones to buy. Anyway, onto more important stuff, I've made a "new" logo, which is actually a revival of an old one, but it looks a lot better, also Scum Slaughter has a new page explaining some of the background on the strip, and finally the site has a new, less offensive alternate address- http://www.felney.co.uk/
03/09/05 - Poof! Scum Slaughter is BACK!!, and now its in black and white "Sin City"/"Simping Detective" style too!. The storyline has been re-started, so it doesn't follow on from the previous ones, and will eventually come back around to the point it was at in the first strip, with a few differences (Sunita's boyfriend may be a girl, and her parents are still alive in this one). Also the "About" page for scum slaughter has been updated and extended, with more explanations of things. Also the Links and Me sections have been updated, and the blue colour used for the fonts has been made a bit lighter
16/09/05 - Minor tweaks and things I've made a few little adjustments to the site, first I have uploaded my old text story "The Fourth Reich", which was never finished (what a surprise), but some people on doomworld liked it. Next I've made a few more adjustments to the Menu just to make it function better, and added a few more Links that I added last time but a cock-up with uploading meant that I had to hastily add them at the last minute, and a few got forgotten. Finally I've temporarily taken a few things off the site for editing/altering. Because they, coupled with a little research, gave directions directly to my house. And as this site is getting a bit more controversial, some scum like the BNP, ALF, Peter Tatchell, Freemasons, Genewatch, Al Queda, The Westboro Baptist Church, Cambridgeshire County Council, The Church Of England and other gangs of thugs who solve everything with violence might have came around and attacked me. But now I can say what I want about them. Cunts. Finally the Timeline Of Felney has had a large update, and a lot of tweaks, so its not even angrier and funnier, with lots of wacky conspiracy theories about Freemasons too.
25/09/05 - Holy shitting titwank in Macclesfield town centre! Remember Insanity Please? my silly comic that was a crossover of Final Fantasy 6 and 7? -ITS BACK!! Yeah, after about 4 years and 2 months (eat that Krazy Larry) I decided to revive it. Now you might wonder why, as I hate Final Fantasy now (all the recent ones have been shit) and I no longer believe in Anarchy? Well because it was FUN! So yes, its going to keep the wonky frames, black and white artwork and senseless violence and silliness (like vintage Deathworld). I'm also going to go for daily updates again. Now of course that's easy to say on a Sunday, on Monday night I may feel different XD. Still, if I do draw a comic that's purely for fun every evening, it might get me into a 'drawing mood' so I'll get stuck into on my strip which is more serious and angry, Scum Slaughter!. Either way updates to the site should get more frequent for a while, so there will be a reason to check back more often
28/09/05 - Ok, ya got me Yeah I said I'd bring back the daily updates for insanity please, them promptly missed Monday, well the pounding headaches, inability to stand up for more than 5 minutes (driving home was "fun") and not being able to hold anything down (the water I drunk overtook itself in its rush to come back out- made drawing it a bit low on me priority list. Anyway, by 3-4 on Tuesday (I wasn't at work that day, surprise surprise) I felt better enough to continue, and hopefully will be able to carry on for a while longer XD. I have written the outline of a few storylines which should move the plot forwards a lot, as opposed to the snail-paced crawl of the old insanity please, in 227 comics they only killed one of their main rivals! So anyway, apart from an actual plot these strips will wrap up the esper story, re-characterise the characters and give them some individuality again, as well as featuring a stupendous amount of violence, a lot of sex and, of course-Zombies!! Stay tuned! Oh yeah, the next "UK Web and mini comix thing" will be on 11th March 2006. If I can get the third (and fourth and fifth?) storylines of Scum Slaughter ready by then, I may set up a table to pedal them from. But so far I keep re-starting story number 3 cause I'm never happy with it XD. Also I could possibly do a "Greatest hits of Felney" comic with a few of the good ones, as well as selected bits and bobs from the Timeline too. Also considering a Crystal Knights CD, which would have loads of stuff from the website, as well as some 'exclusive' (couldn't be arsed to upload it) content, but that's only an idea.
08/10/05 - OMG 4UM LOL FINALLY Crystal Knights has a forum again!, after I ditched the keenspace one I had ages ago, and the Ezboard I had absolutley YEARS ago, I now have a PHPBB, the best!. Pity I cant get themes to work, so I cant make a crystal knights colour scheme. Or even use that cool "28 Days later" one I found. Ah well, in other news Insanity Please missed a few days due to FTP and Mike errors, but its now caught up. Also I have uploaded some more Hentai, all but one pic is really sketchy crappy biro stuff though, well all pics but that one where not really intended for public viewing XD. At least 5 more pics are in the works, but may take a while, because I got a PSP and its cool XD. Been playing "Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition", which is a game where you stick spoilers and stripes on cars I've never heard of. Oh and sometimes make them actually go faster too, Cant wait for "GTA: Liberty City Stories" though, and I gotta get the UMD of Sin City, well I doubt that will be re-released as a 2 disc special edition in a few months, like the DVD will XD.
23/10/05 - Its Back! Remember the Felney Herald? That spoof newspaper I made years ago which wasn't funny? Well now its back!, and it may actually be funny this time XD. This time around it will have several 'pages' which will have different stuff each time, as well as the news there's also gonna be "looking back" sections, competitions, occasional cameo's from the columnists of yesteryear, letters and other things, but not in every issue. Oh yeah and even more spoof/topical ads. Next In line for a re-work is either the Me page or maybe the Q666 parody radio station, maybe I'll even make some shitty dance/ me doing DJ-ing/ spoof ads as an MP3 "Podcast" to be downloaded. Except it wont be called a podcast of course, because -People who use that word are SCUM -FUCKING KILL THEM -DIE YOU PIECE OF SHIT -The Ipod is not the first and only MP3 player in the world -I had one with 6 gigabytes of storage space on it in 2001 -Macs are for scummy "rebels", shut up and face the front, imagine if we had two different forms of money or something that we really only need one of, you attention-seeking kids
31/10/05 - The Crystal Knights halloween special! -ill be one day late XD, as expected. I spent virtually all of Monday on it, but cause I spent all of Sunday reading "The Inside Story of VIZ" (very funny by the way) its behind XD. So far I have the lineart of all 8 pages (it ends rather abruptly, there's no real battle with the, er, bad guys) and have coloured 4, though I'm not very happy with 4 due to a technicality. (me fucking up saving copies) I'd have to re-do a large amount of the colouring and then re-shrink it ect, so I cant be bothered XD. Plus all the pages I have are quite dark, "Qeueing Woman" keeps blending in to the background and is just a pair of eyes XD. Ahh well as it's a "horror" story I'm sure that's bareable. Oh yeah it also has cameo's from Matt Blaster (Deathworld) and Jess Mason (High Maintenance). And finally, you may have noticed Insanity please is on another short break, while I make the halloween comic which has been delayed XD. It will return soon, I promise, and I'll draw a lot of strips in advance too - Yeah, I have one of those unconventional (for me) 'Script' things - so all I have to do is upload them XD.
01/11/05 - Halloween special one day late "Hoodie Apocalypse" in Menu, read. "Fright Night 7" in menu, read that too. Proper news update tomorrow. Bed.
10/11/05 - Ya fuckin whaaaa mate? Ya don't do pillz? Are ya like, fookin, gay or what mate? I've made the logo of the site now randomly select different logos that are related to different causes I believe in, and where relevant it links to their websites. Ones I have so far are Fassit, UKIP, stopping congestion charging in Cambridge and bringing back the True Mini (as well as the normal logo for the website). Ones I intend to add include "Build more wind farms, shoot anyone who complains!" and "Stop building your fucking featureless characterless estates on our countryside when there are loads of empty houses in the cities". I've finished the script for episode 3 of Scum Slaughter, and I also plan to tweak the first one (just change Sunita's waffling about her car at the start to something more useful, like her explaining her 'hobby' as she drives). Also I had a message recently (in the Tagboard, which is right next to the news box XD) asking when Felney is updating, it isnt. Its officially dead at the moment, however it may be bought back when I go to university, as I have been scripting a few more of them, and I might try and send it to the university paper. If they don't accept it I'll probably draw the ones I have done and put them online/release them as a book, because some of the scripts are quite funny.
27/11/05 - "My doctor, he wont let me out, wont let me out" - Akon Yeah you probably noticed the alternate logos thingy vanished after a few days, because it was shit. I will put 'campaign notices' on the front page somewhere eventually (got a new one too: Abolish VOSA!, They are some scummy agency that are like money-grabbing social workers but for cars). Maybe they will go in the place of the UK Webcomix thing 2006 banner. I'm going to that by the way XD, MAYBE I will set up a fags hate god table there, but I'll probably just wander about, depends if I can create some comics in time and get them printed XD. Considering the printed version of Scum Slaughter to have a cover like that on "Cannibal Holocaust", with a slogan like "This is an imitation (of High Maintenance), This is NOT the original, this is the other ONE THAT GOES ALL THE WAY!". But where Cannibal Holocaust has a picture from the movie in a 'lens', I will have a frame from the comic with "BANNED!" stamped over it. Which is what Grindhouse did when various companies refused to print the Cannibal Holocaust packaging, but I thought that was the final box design, and I thought that was be cooler XD. Also you may have noticed Insanity Please hitting various delays and the artwork has very visibly suffered. I've been trying, but I haven't had any energy to concentrate on it (too much playing Runabout, oh and UCAS stuff too), oh and I lost my good pen. So anyway its on hold again, hopefully for less than 4 years though XD. I'll give it some time and then carry on, I do have a good few months of long storylines written out, I just want the art to improve and that means I need some time off XD. Hopefully when I am off work for a week in December I can sort it out. Oh yeah I'm gonna be making a Runabout Fan-site soon, possibly the only English one in the world? I wanna get up a very basic (and empty) design as soon as possible, and then add info later. Anyway, I wrote all that waffling and then realised I didn't actually inform you of the updates to the website XD -The Felney Herald has been updated, it was rushed and done in one night, basically I only wanted to put in one joke, and I actually forgot the joke until I was about to upload it so had to hastily add it afterwards XD. -Fright Night 7 continues to grow, I had a few extra links submitted
30/12/05 - Woo You probably noticed that my week off at the start of December didn't actually result in any new Insanity Please strips, oh well I guess. Fright Night 7 continues to be updated as more Halloween strips drift in, I didn't know there was so many comics out there, almost all of the ones I have seen sent so far I have never even slightly heard of XD. Anyway, onto the REAL news: I'm gonna have a table at the UK Web & Mini Comix thing 2006! I'll be sharing with Mal of High Maintenance, under the banner of "I thought of it first productions" (I wonder which one of us did think up the idea of a 'transsexual avenger' first?). Stuff I hope to have on sale is a "Best of Felney" book, collecting the best issues of it, I have actually finished this one it just needs printing, if I can afford it, its quite big XD. A book collecting the first 3/4 storylines of Scum Slaughter, in re-scanned and tidied up form, with altered dialogue too (to make it meaner, the first two issues as they stand are quite silly), an EU News newspaper and a Felney Herald newspaper. The first two are more likely to happen than the last two XD. Last thing, the Runabout page has been uploaded, under games. Some bits of it are unfinished, and may remain that way for a long time.
01/01/06 - The Polar Bears are here! I suppose its about time I cleared the News page XD. I added a "End of year In/Out list" to the Other section, so read it XD Scum Slaughter should actually be updated soon. For real this time!!
04/02/06 - Slow I haven't had the time or energy to do very much updating of the site at all really. And i need to start working on printed paper versions of the EU News and Felney Herald to sell at the UK Webcomix thing. Speaking of those two, the recent Muslim protests inspired me to update them. Though the idea for the article that has appeared in the EU news has been in my head for ages.
11/03/06 - Snooooze -.- Just got back from the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing... What a blast!! In the end all I had to sell was the first 4 stories of Scum Slaughter, and no Felney or spoof newspapers. The Scum Slaughter comic was printed using the self service copiers in Staples and was not up to amazing quality, still I thought that gave it an added grittiness and the feeling it was "underground". The punters didn't agree as I sold, er, 5 XD. Still a few more people had a look through it (and then slipped away trying to avoid eye contact and didn't come back past the table again) and hopefully they remembered my memorable web address (hello to them XD). I was sharing with Mal of course, and she had the (excellent) re-do of High Maintenance chapter 1, which was printed far better than mine, and she was selling loads XD. She is also very friendly and snuggly and has a cool accent hehe. Proper report coming tomorrow, I need to sleep. Hope I remember everything XD
12/03/06 - The number for the special clinic's on the wall... The Thing Report is up check it out under Writing. Scum Slaughter story 4 should be uploaded later today. And as the Thing was very inspiring, I'll probably continue with some comic or other later on and that will be up soon. Oh yeah something I ain't mentioned yet is i have finally started Homonian Stories, its another "because its fun" strip, which means drawn with a biro and shoddy artwork. The first one is fairly pornographic, and stars an officer from the Homonian Security Force (the police and army) undercover branch, nicknamed Agent Smoke XD. She's investigating the bosses of the sex parks (including Shag Shack, my ancient porn comic from years ago), and looks like a chubby version of the Queuing woman (who first appeared in Shag Shack, hey, full circle!). She also has a Ford Cortina mk1, which by the time the strip is set, is 100 years old XD.
01/04/06 - Nowhere to hide! Felney Magazine issue 4 is up. Bet ya weren't expecting that XD, yeah I'm trying to get back into regularly making it again, except this time it won't have regular features that 'have' to be in each issue, which means it may get done more often XD. This issue contains some gig reviews from the local Cambridgeshire rock scene (and the excellent band Saint Zoe), and the Thing report with a bonus "exclusive" report on a silly incident XD. I'm also in the process of creating a new printed comic, this one is going to be a paper incarnation of Felney magazine (even sharing articles). But also with in-depth splatter movie reviews, pictures from gigs and Viz-like comic strips, basically it will be like what Viz was like when it first started then XD. I'm planning on Issue 1 being a "pilot", just to see how it is received, and I'm planning on selling it either through local gigs or a paypal-powered website. (Probably the former XD, though it means only local readers will be able to get it, then again I have already had a 'pre-order' from Manila of all places XD, but thats only 'cause i asked to use someone in the strip, and she agreed, so she gets a free one XD). I do have ideas for future issues if number 1 takes off though. Oh yeah, and i have fiddled with the colour scheme, to match the very first pages about Scum Slaughter, when it was still gonna be a game. The games should still be made... ONE day XD
17/04/06 - Urg I've been repeatedly banging on about doing a re-make of The Gun (my first "modern" comic, the one that started off everything you see on this site today), and I even started to do it twice. This time though, I'm gonna hold on, sort my drawing style out, and then have a proper go of it. And to show I'm actually gonna try, I've put up a page about it, in the comics section. This also has reviews of the original version, and some other background info and that. I've also made a few other "housekeeping" edits around the site, such as fiddling with the story chronology and altering the page for "Rig Doom" a bit.
26/04/06 - Hey, we fell about the place As there are local elections coming up, I've "Nailed my colours to the mast", so to speak. I would have done a UKIP menu too, but changing the colours of the menu is a bit annoying now it has so many things on it, so it stays grey. The normal colours will return afterwards. Anyway, to improve my drawing style somewhat, I've started on a new Zombie Shock Massacre comic, and I'm not gonna pencil it in, but just draw more realistic characters with biro from the off, so I "brute force" improvements in artistic skill upon myself. Because if I don't it will look like total crap XD. It seems to be working so far, looks better than the first ZSM anyway (of course), though everybody looks like they are shouting, even when talking normally, and there isn't enough variation in people's faces. It also includes a "familiar" face, Stu from Queer As Fuck, who is now 20-something in 1996 rather than 1985, and should also be in GTF (when and if that gets made XD). Once my drawing style has improved I'm gonna get on with Millman, for real. That's what the proposed "Agent Smoke" porn comic has evolved into, except now it's a detective drama set in Homonia, the gay homeland, in 2062. And features her cracking down on various things that are against the law there, like cosmetic surgery and religion XD. She also has a different car, a Riley 4/Eighty, which didn't exist in the 1960's, but its what it would have been called if there was a Riley version of the Austin A110 or Wolseley 6/110, when actually the "last" Riley was the 4/Seventy-six, based on the Austin A99 or Wolseley 6/99 XD. And I cant think what else to write so here are some offensive quotes I have planned for the strip: *Laser zaps the roof of her car, blasting off the paintwork* "They'll never fix that under warranty!" "Ahh, a week off, what shall we do? -ey, shall we get sex changes??" "Some of your best friends are religious are they? Perhaps you'd like to come down the station and tell me where they live!" "I came out to my parents when I was 18, seeing as I lived in wonderful, enlightened England in the 2050's, they kicked me out of the house and said as far as they were concerned they never had a daughter, so I caught the next Zepp over" "I know it hasn't got airbags, I chose not to add that option" "Fucking foreign cars! They'll be making them bomb-proof next!" "Control, we got one for the meat wagon-yeah its me DI Millman-bah, you just aint got any appreciation for classic literature!" "Oh dear, my own Mum and Dad here to try and drag me back to England, don't you know attempted repatriation is a crime? But as I'm a copper I'll try and get you off lightly. You'll probably only be hand-making gravel for 40 years. Hmm I fancy doing me driveway, my girlfriend's just bought an MG Mini you know- "A little bit of police brutality never hurt anyone!"
15/05/06 - Uncle Bush loves you Work on me comics has ground to a halt. What a surprise XD, I need to find a new red paint pen but nowhere seems to sell them. May have to resort to a normal red marker. Or try Newmarket. I am considering re-making Anarchy doom though, but this time rather than being an anarchist you are a revolutionary fighting against the EU Superstate in 2014. The levels would be the same locations as the anarchy doom ones (for instance level 1 see's you blowing up a chemical plant, level 2 see's you making your way home). But they would obviously be far more detailed and better looking than the old shoddy ones. I've put up a review of the Bristol comic expo under writing, it was awful, a waste of a weekend that could have been spent doing up an old printer, filling in the student loan form and finding Commando comics XD. I've been seeing a lot of a band called Zeroscape recently, who rule. They are playing at The Cartoon in Camden, London on August 1st 2006, and I'm trying to get as many people down there as possible, so if you are free, go for it! Note you'll probably (certainly) miss your train back, so book the next day off work and we'll all find a late-opening pub and sit around there till the stations open again XD. Oh and "Life On Mars" is now out on DVD, well it is in Ely Tesco anyway, despite the fact I thought it wasn't coming out till September. What are you reading this for? BUY IT!!
06/06/06 - OREMOR NHOJ ,EM LLIK TSUM UOY EMAG EHT NIW OT As it's the devil's day, I'm back into Doom editing, and I last posted a big doom news update a year (and two days) ago, I thought I'd give you the latest on my projects. However as I haven't been into doom for a while, very little progress has actually been made XD. Ultimate Hell: Has not been touched, I now plan to re-add the monsters I lost (the more 'hellish' heretic and Hexen ones) and make normal levels that don't resemble anything, in fact I plan to make them more like the original DSV, i.e. deliberately under-detailed, with tons of ammo and a zillion monsters to wade through with the SSG Bughunt 2: Re-added the machine gun with torch on it that I lost, and added more passages to the ants nest level. I wanted to also add levels set on the lawn, and In the cellar of the house, but instead I'm going to make the ants nest absolutely huge, and make it the final level. Basically Bughunt 2 will be released "unfinished" just the same as Bughunt was. Then I'll start number 3, full of promise XD Insanity Please: I plan on doing some minor tidying up to the Legacy version, and releasing it as "abandonware". I've been trying to align some textures in Doom Builder, but what DB considers aligned and what Legacy considers aligned are two different things entirely, so actually some areas of the levels look more ugly now than they used to, but fuck it, I'm not fiddling around with textures for ages on this shitty wad. It will have levels 1-6, plus 31 (the level from that Otakon 96 wad), crappy paint graphics and some bizarre dehacked work. Watch out for it getting flamed in /Newstuff! Insanity Please 2: The re-make, in EDGE!, not started, but I want to make better shinra soldier enemies with various weapons, as well as sprites of the player using those weapons, and release a "test" wad where you play as Cloud rather than Terra in a single level. Zombie Shock Massacre: Not been touched. I never heard back from the guy about the template sprite, so I will make a new one myself. Unfortunatley when I made the last one I was in a distraction free (and boring) environment, this time I'm not so "lucky" so it may never get done. Shame really as most of my projects rest on having a template sprite to base new enemies off. Scum Slaughter: My new project, a re-make of Anarchy Doom, which was the very first thing that was ever put on the Crystal Knights website!, except it was on a different host, had a different address and was called something different back then XD. It will be set in the nightmarish, euro-police-state of 2014, and you wont be Sunita, though you will meet her. Expect RPG-like scripted bits, brutal battles, lots of satire and proper mission objectives. General Wads: Working on version 2 of one based on my school (if anybody has version 1, called skewl.wad, I'd love to have it!) Teddy Bear Wars/Gaydoom/Detective Doom/The Gun: Not likely to be even started for months/years Also I'm working on another wad, 666hell.wad (may be renamed if one like that is already in the archive), which is going to be a series of tough boss battles. I was planning to do it and release it on 06/06/06 but I didn't start till gone 6:00, and I need to work tomorrow, so it will be late. Like everything I do XD. Speaking of the devil, who saw the "Impossible Planet" episode of Doctor Who??? It was fucking great, and VERY scary, like proper horror, rather than "screaming deformed thing jumping from the shadows" shitty 'horror' that virtually every horror movie this side of 1990 has been. I call for it to be named as the 'real' Doom movie, rather than that shitty one. And I saw a picture of the monster that the Doctor will be facing in part 2 (shown on Saturday) in the Star, it looks EXACTLY (with no RL) like the Doom 3 Cyberdemon! That Russel T Davies knows what he's on about! (But Queer As Folk, yes I am talking about the "better" British version, is still shit Update - 7th June 2006. Oops, forgot to actually upload this update! It's the devil at work I tell ye!
25/06/06 - Eric Dylan And The Massacre Finally got around to finishing and uploading the tweaked Doom section, it includes the latest news on my projects, a few minor updates to the project pages, two new project pages (one good, one crap) and (at last!) some downloadable wad files, including 666hell.wad, and a crap one I made in 5 minutes, a re-make of my fourth doom map ever created!
03/07/06 - R is for Spaceship Done a wee bit of tweaking and tidying up around the site. Mainly in the Click games "Planned" section. Also put in an order for MMF2, so, though I'm still in Doom mode, expect some Click games to surface in the near future as I experiment with its new features. Also been working on the new version of Ultimate Hell, its website hasn't been updated yet, but I suppose that's next on my list, it will now have several new weapons and only a few new monsters, but lots of levels. Its set on a distant planet that you are sent to after the end of Doom 2 and cleaning up earth of the hellspawn, of course the UAC engineers are stupid and opened another gate to hell, so its time to kick some freakin' ass! Then you go back to hell again and find the new ruler of hell (actually the last level will be a longer version of my recently released 666Hell.wad, with three new, even badder bosses) and kill him too. I also have three sequels (probably roughly 10-15 levels each, I want Ultimate Hell to have at least 25) planned, I'll only give you the names for now: "Jupiter Station 1","Doom: Counterattack" and "The Vile Planet"
09/07/06 - Indian mythology? Bollocks! I want armed lesbians in 60's muscle cars! You 'ear me Brahhhnsun? I've gotten rid of the Tagboard at last, as it made popups appear, was repeatedly attacked by spammers and never used by real people any more. Its been replaced by a sort of "info-diary" thing, which incorporates the "Todays Features" bit from the old site design (VERY old now o.o), which links to my current favorites, the "I Fancy" section will probably be a random outburst about something I think it would be cool to own and/or gushing about who I currently love at the time. The most important part of this new thing though, is the "current project" thing, I have decided, spurred on partly by a good friend I recently made, to not "spread myself too thin" but choose one project and stick to it. You have probably noticed I'm always having ideas for new things, (in fact there are several I haven't even written down yet*) and say I'm going to make them into comics, games, doom wads etc, but they never get done. Well now I'm going to get all the ideas written down in design docs when I have them, and then file them away, meanwhile, I'll pick ONE project, and stick to it until it gets done! Of course this does mean some things will be delayed for months/years (like Millman and The Gun re-makes XD) but this way I'll be concentrating on one project and sticking at it. This should be better than thinking of new ideas, starting to work on all of them, and never finishing anything XD. With that in mind, and to give me a psychological boost thinking that this system does work, I've dug out my old "Zombie Shock Massacre 2" comic, which follows some London gangsters getting caught up in the 1996 zombie outbreak in the Fens, and continued to work on it. Its looking good so far, and my still-developing new drawing style (a vaugley anime-like simplified version of the "Marvel" art style) is starting to shine in it. Of course ZSM is the comic equivalent of a low-budget B movie, so the frames are wonky and the ink smudged, it's a good place to pratice new styles and experiment with them. The next thing I'm likeley to start is either the Grand Theft Felney Prequel (not even mentioned in the Klik section, though I've been thinking of ideas for it for almost a year), Scum Slaughter Doom, Rig Doom or the first Millman story, "Crime and punishment", in which she has to arrest her own parents. Yeah its gonna be nasty and unforgiving XD. *-A "Nightmare Creatures" style 3D game set in the Zombie outbreak of 1996, a Doom TC set on Europa fighting rapidly-evolving insectoid aliens, and a secret agent comic set in the 70's, in the style of "The Professionals". Based on a dream I had about Norwegian secret agents trying to assassinate the Prime Minister, they fail and escape in a Gloucester Meteor, which breaks down XD.
26/07/06 - Vavooom! How does she do it? A decent sized update for you this time around!, over in the Comics section we have the first part of Zombie Shock Massacre 2, with much-improved artwork (starts off good, gets very good then gets crap, the next parts should find a better balance), lots of blood and stereotyped cockney accents! Plus a fen-boy farmer to even things out. It's going to also loosely be a re-make of "The Dead Zone", a non-stephen-king related comic my brother did ages ago. In fact I may even ask him if I can put that up on the site too XD. You may also notice a familiar character in it, Stu! He's been repatriated from Queer As Fuck Classic and had his date of birth adjusted, so he's 18 in 1996 and not 20 in 1985 XD. Speaking of Queer As Fuck, I've finally admitted that the new version of it will never actually happen, of course you always knew it wouldn't anyway XD, but its now official. Wait for the DVD of "The Line Of Beauty" instead XD. Also the Art(?!?!) section has had an update(?!?!) with "massacre art!". I downloaded that PDF of Eric Harris's writings, when I first heard about the Columbine shooting I wished I could have seen inside his diaries so badly, I reckoned it would be endless pages of sick, blood-soaked pictures, satanic and nazi symbols and plans for the massacre. But, like Rome and Manhunt, it is actually pretty tame. So I went back through my own diaries and dug up some of the goriest stuff to stick on the site. Lots of pictures of people being shot and run over XD.
20/08/06 - Fahhve thoosand? Almost a month since the last update XD, but not too much has happened on the Crystal Knights front, too busy with university preparation. Still I have now finished part 2 of Zombie Shock Massacre 2, the art is improving steadily. I think I'm gonna do a Scum Slaughter next, but don't hold me to that, I better start Millman too, soon. Also I will have to draw a few Felney 2 strips soon, for sending to the team that makes the Lincoln University paper, to see if they will approve. I may do that next, but as that will be an "ongoing" strip it will have to be made alongside other projects. I know I said I壇 "only work on one thing at a time", but four-panel gag strips shouldn't eat into it too much should they? In other news, I've done some more edits to the Storyline Chronolgy. I may start adding pictures to it, as well as pages about the characters. Felney used to have a "cast" section a while back, so it will sort of be a revival of that, but with other characters in it as well, such as ones from Cart Wars.
07/09/06 - That means "drop dead", thank you. Been doing "art practice" recently, which means trying to replicate the generic hero from "How To Draw Cutting Edge Comics", and failing. I think I've hit an artistic peak at the moment, with the style being used in ZSM 2, and its not going to improve further until I work on this one a lot more. That tends to be how it always goes, the original "shag shack" was the first time I used the style used in Insanity Please and early Felney, and now it looks awful. Also my first attempts at the style that came after that (seen in late Felney and Scum Slaughter) where pretty awful too, I have some very dodgy pics of Ann in a book somewhere XD. So anyway, the effect of this is that Felney 2, which was going to look "cutting edge" will now not XD. Having accepted that I cant improve my artistic skills any more, I've started to get on with part 3 of ZSM 2, in which the car gets stuck on a pile of zombies and cant move because the wheels are bogged down in chest cavities XD. However ZSM2 may have to be put on hold to actually get some pilot strips of Felney 2 made, so that they can be submitted to the Lincoln University paper (called "Bullet", I believe). Anyway, onto actual website updates, the story chronology has had yet another vast update, with even more old stories I did when I was young added in, like "Crazy Cats" and "Mini Men". Eventually I'll also start adding character, location, techonolgy and other pages to it as well, but that's a very long term idea (and nobody except me actually gives a shit XD). I've also added info on the various re-makes I'm planning, including one of Galactic Conquest, which was never done properly the first time around. This time it will actually be about the war of the united people of the milky way galaxy against the genocidal invaders from outside, called Starkill (who have been changed considerably, they now look quite demonic and their ships look like metal skulls and bones). It will also have a slightly pessimistic note about racism (as in white humans hating other people) still existing even in the mid-24th century. But that is earmarked for between The Gun 2 and The Gun 3, and I havent even started the first one yet. Oh and I did some tidying up of other pages too, as usual XD.
14/09/06 - Splendid updates to-day If you have been following the news updates on the site (likely as that's the only thing that's been updated recently XD) you may not be surprised by this. If you are called Sally, are tall and pretty and aged 40 and live in a village that's named after cheese, you may not be surprised by this, though I suspect other people might be XD. In other news, I'm off to university on the 16th, so this is my last news update from the home computer. And potentially the last using Word 97, depends if Openoffice can edit HTML, as Word 97 on the laptop doesn't seem to feature spell check, and I've lost the CD. In other other news, I've made some updates to the links section, namely to a big Sexton Blake website (as I have become very interested in him) and to a site about Commando comics, as the owner gives descriptions of the latest issues on sale, so I know if a decent one is coming out. Yeah I've finally started buying them again, even if they are £1.10 now (I remember when they where 45p! and then 50, and then 55-it still meant you could get a decent amount with your tenner holiday money though!). Not long to go before they reach issue 4000 either, even more than "The Dandy!", though they are cheating by releasing 1.3 issues a week XD.
18/10/06 -First update from university But theres not really much to say XD. I started on on a Halloween comic called "The Legend O Bosun Jack" but it will never get finished in time, i'll probably finish it eventually (like ZSM 2) and get it online, but not any time soon. I also started another one called "Four colour nightmare" which is likely to go nowhere at all, but is set in Lincoln. Finally Felney 2 has been ticking over at the rate of one a week, though not nessecarily on the same day XD. Eugene Manx and Scum Slaughter are in line for updates next, probably Scum Slaughter first as i'm starting to miss Sunita and her brutal adventures. Finally, I found out that The Gun was actually started in 1997, which means that it's 10th anniversary will be next year. Which means i can put off the re-make until then and continue to improve my artistic skills XD. Anyway, as for university, its shit and i hate it. I've paid for a year in me accommodation, so i'll try and stay for that, but will probably drop out before then anyway. Can always cancel the last instalments. But Lincoln itself is nice, and my flatemates are very nice. Unfortunatley the news update for 6th September 2000 applies again XD. Finally, i'm intending to finally produce some kind of paper publication. Maybe the first issue will be a bonfire night special. The first idea was SCV, a VIZ ripoff, then it became a Victorian "Penny Dreadful" type thing called The Horrific Picture Paper. Now the final title is The Red, White & Blue, a play on the name of the Edwardian story paper (which frequently featured Sexton Blake) The Union Jack. The logo is pretty much the same as well. Three titles and the first issue hasnt even came out yet XD. I may be selling it at the UK Web & Mini Comix thing in 2007, though i wont have a table there, just flogging it out of me pockets XD.
03/11/06 -Minor Updates Just a bit more fiddling done around the site, now that i finally have Word 97 working correctly on my laptop (Microsoft "accidentally" blocked the HTML editing dll files in it from the registry, so that you dont "accidentally" install the "obsolete" Word 97 and use it for HTML editing, instead you pay them £500 for the latest Frontpage). Issue 6 of Felney is now also up. The Halloween comic rather obviously didnt get done in time, and probably never will be XD. More Eugene Manx should be coming soon, though comic production may drop off a bit (er, from four panels a week?) as i now have actual uni work to do, fancy that XD. For people in Britian, go into Smiths, or some other shop that sells Commando comics, and get "Chamber Of Horrors", because it rules. Finally, i've gotten involved in a Scribble battle! Its fun. And yes i am going to Thing 2007 just in case you may have wondered XD. Wont be exhibiting this time though, though i may have issue one of the Red, White & Blue done by then XD. Well i have FINALLY finished writing the story for the first issue, Social Services Slaughter. I'm also hoping to have a page or two of Eugene Manx (re-arranged to be four panels across, and with typed text so you can read it XD) and some "one world film reviews" XD. If i do i'll carry around a bunch to sell from a backpack, or just take two and sling them in the reading area XD. You'll also have another chance to buy Scum Slaughter issue 1 (and STILL the latest one XD), at the reduced (to get rid of the bastards) price of 10p!
27/12/06 - Eating food is good indeed Merry Christmas to all our readers. Its been quite busy, with carting all me important stuff home and sorting it all out. Only 5-6 months left to go ^-^, then I can be out of that shit hole forever "Massacre Art 2005" is FINALLY up, there's some pretty brutal stuff on there. The 2006 lot will be coming up once I get back to uni and have access to a scanner again. there isn't as much sickness in the 2006 stuff though, just a "boring tosser" being shot in the head, Doom coming to Altarincham and a stickman getting his cock chopped off and leaving a river of blood behind as he runs to the hospital. I'll have to try harder in 2007 obviously XD Speaking of next year, what's it got in store? Well the fourth UK Webcomix Thing to start with, I wont be exhibiting this time, but will be visiting, hopefully with issue 1 (and maybe even 2) of the Red, White & Blue picture-paper stuffed in my pockets XD. Also the 10th Anniversary of The Gun, though it must have been started in very early 1997, but the re-makes aren't likely to be made until late 2007, meaning it will be closer to 11 by the time they start XD. Also I plan on finally starting another Scum Slaughter, chugging away at Felney and Eugene Manx (now in larger page format!) and maybe making a start on Millman. In other news, the book "Great British Comics - a century of ripping yarns and wizard wheezes" is excellent, and highly recommended! I've seriously got back into collecting "Commando" comics again, and the current issue "Deep Secret" is a cracking story, though the artwork isn't that great. (Still if the mighty DC Thompson takes artwork of that calibre I shouldn't have much improvement to make before I can see if they will take me on XD). "The Dangerous Book For Boys" is cool too, as is the Rebus series XD. I also bought a cool-sounding second-hand book called "The Four Just Men", which sounds like Scum Slaughter but made 100 years earlier XD. Finally, I've been getting into a children's cartoon series called Skyland, which looks very cool. Better than that Transformers shit we had when I was young XD. Could do with being set in the early 70's and having people blasting around in RS3100's though
09/01/07 - La Grille? What the hell is that? Back in me student accomodation now, which means i have a scanner again! May remain in Lincoln even when i drop out, as when i moved back in my parents finally made my mind snap with a truly subhumanic comment, i could hardly even belive i had heard it. Or just made up a new word XD. Forgiveness for that comment will never be given, i think the only trip i make back there will be to pick up more stuff, and my Mini, when i have dropped out and am living in a shared house somewhere here (the bonuses of a student city, even one in which they are despised, endless cheap places to live), and have a full time job here. Anyway, site news, Massacre art 2006 is now up, unfortunatley there isnt really much blood and gore in my 2006 diary, though there is some XD. Lots of mk3 Cortinas though, its full of them... probably something to do with Life On Mars hehe. The UK Webcomix thing 2007 rushes towards us, i'm planning on a submission for the anthology, though i have no idea what, i'll probably go for the 4-page length and make something set in my universe, but seperate from the other stories, though still linking in with them. Just what it should be is the question XD. Theres a large gap between the 2060's (Millman) and the 2310's (Galactic Conquest), so it may be a sci-fi story somewhere in between those two. Not that those two themselves actually exist yet anyway XD. I'm planning a cheap Mspaint strip called Gamer SCUM for sometime in the near future, as it won't take long to draw an episode and i have a few ideas, mostly involving dribbling morons sitting around playing thier Samecube and another guy going "What was the last thing you read?". It will probably be done in a style reminiscent of Little Gamers and the myriad ripoffs that are around.
21/01/07 - The title for Ugly Betty looks like cover of Alehouse Rock XD A new Felney is up. That's not news! Well also the Felney site now has it's own colour scheme and two new "about" sections, which explain what it is about and the differences between the old version and the new one. The Comic Genesis Felney site has also been altered a little. Finally the felney.co.uk domain now points to Felney and not the normal front page (like it used to) The reason for all these updates, you ask? Well Felney is now going to be published every 2.5 weeks in The Linc, a Lincoln University student paper. This also means that the comic will be updated more often, I'm going for once a week (i.e., like I originally planned XD) so I can stay a nice distance ahead of the newspaper version, and also so the editor can advise me about stuff that may need censoring, or just isn't funny XD. I've also written a few more scripts recently... it's gonna be good! UK Webcomix Thing update: I'm aiming to do a story for the Anthology, but it may not get finished by the 1st Feb deadline... or started, in fact XD. Then again there seems to be bugger all in it right now so the deadline might be extended... I imagine XD
19/03/07 - Ca$hed out on culture About time there was another update XD. I went to the UK Webcomix Thing 2007, and it was very cool. Full review can be found in the writing section. No pics though, I took only one this year, and it was of Mal at her table XD. Anyway also whilst there it was mentioned some bloke in Ireland lost his girlfriend, house and job in the week before Christmas, so kept plugging away at making a comic called Mr Amperduke anyway, and is now gonna be published in 2000AD. Which puts moping around and not updating Felney after being ignored by Dale into perspective. So expect more updates soon! Especially as the only real Uni work left to do now is (yeah, right) revision. I also removed the banner for The Linc, as it appears to have disappeared, issue 2 never turned up and the website hasn't been updated since the start of the Ashes Finally, for all the people I met at the Thing, or who are coming here because of my anthology submission, the girl on Page 146 (Tina) is SUPPOSED to be saying "Hmm, I should have saved for some soundproofing, me new bass amp might drown it out a bit. Hey, I wonder what Mike bought?", but I didn't proof read it XD.
30/04/07 - Shortest news update ever
15/05/07 - Bristol was fun There will be a report on it later, but the short story is Saturday I went to a party at Mal's (writer of the excellent High Maintenance) house and got stupidly drunk, met some cool people and passed out on a desk in the very room where HM is made (which I think makes me the ultimate fan XD). Sunday I spent far too much on comics, annoyed Mal and Cliodhna of Ztoical some more and got very wet from nearly non-stop rain. I wanted to take pictures but didnt, except for a few of the street my hotel was on. Anyway, I have also done some minor updates to the links section.
17/05/07 - Porridge! A treat to eat and a delight to shite! Two updates within a week? Well anyway I have the report of the Bristol con 2007 online now, just look at the menu, or the writing section. I've also been reading some actual Modesty Blaise strips that I bought at the con, and have decided to re-start Eugene Manx. Except it will still be full-page strips rather than one-line four panel ones. Page 1 of the new version ought to be done tomorrow. Ive also been giving various thoughts as to the numerous self-published comics I want to put out. Hopefully I'll have one issue of each ready for the next thing. They are... Scum Slaughter: Issue 1a, containing the first four stories, but printed better, and issue 2, containing 3-4 new stories (better get a move on eh?). One new story is mostly written, it features members of "an un-named religion" which practices honour killings and sexism being shot with crossbows. SCV: A Viz rip-off, with stories like "Zina: Middle class warrior" and maybe, finally, "The New Mini Twats". As well as some Felney Herald-like spoof news. The Red, white & Blue: An old fashioned "boy's paper", it's now going to be "child friendly" (for a child of the 1920's anyway) so the story about a columbine-style massacre in a council office will have to be excised. I'll bung it up on here eventually. Expect a story about Sarah Millman, but with no sex or politics, or perhaps a story about a detective in 1910 or so named "Victor Sexton", as well as Eugene Manx, Imperium and a possible motor racing strip. Un-Named: Havent thought of a name for "the other one" yet, but it will contain serious* adult stuff like Millman comics (with sex, politics and religion... well religious people being enslaved and shot), and maybe part one of the written version of "A Nympho Astronaut In Dinosaur World"... with the odd illustration XD. MAYBE Felney strips too Felney collection part 1: The first strips of Felney... either a set number (maybe) or just however many I have finished at the time (likely) The Gun: World War 3: The first story of the The Gun re-make. This one may not be done in time... Steve Gunn is sent with the British contingent of Wolf Force to liberate Saudi Arabia from the evil grip of the orwellian Stealth Force superstate. And will probably be giving away Scum Slaughter issue 1 (the crappily photocopied edition) for free, while stocks last! If you're lucky you'll get one with a crease down it cutting out the dialogue XD *Barely!
13/06/07 - TIME LINE. I replaced the old "Felney timeline" with one that only concentrates on events seen in the comics, doom wads etc. The old version is now on the Felney page for anybody that still wants to see it.
04/07/07 - Self burying monster! Yeah yeah there hasn't been any comics, or anything in fact, despite the fact I've had about 2 months with nothing at all to do. I guess it's the inevitability of going back to Lincoln that makes me wonder what the point of anything is... that and at times it seems like there's nobody who wants to read traditional British comics any more. They all want wanky Americanised* revivals in full colour with "meaningful" stories where the characters have "motivations" and the bad guys aren't just two dimensional, cackling evildoers. Which bores me to death, frankly. I guess I could also blame having awful hayfever for practically all of June, but that would sound like a cop-out XD. In spite of this I do intend to get one issue of the Red, White & Blue finished before the end of the year, and also "start on" the The Gun re-make, even if "started on" means "half pencilled the first page by 1st Jan 2008". Anyway, now on to something that's actually been added to the site... BBFC Smash!, it's an old 1-level platformer I made back in 2001 or so. After they announced they where banning Manhunt 2 I gave it a wee polish and stuck it online, check it out in the "released" section of Klik Games. And remember the main released page contains the DLL's! *-Yes, I know most of the time the artists and writers actually are British. The fact they are dancing to the tune of a bunch of cynical fatcats in no way "makes it alright"
13/08/07 - Lucozade, yay Blakiana is back up! So go and study it, look in the links section for more. The links section has also been updated heavily... well HM couldnt stay on the top forever XD. Also the second page of the new Eugene Manx is up at last, hooray. I was working on the Sexton Blake story "The Missing Million" for my storypaper The Red, White & Blue, but now I've got a cold and a terrible headache so it may be delayed a bit. Still aiming to get everything done by the end of this month though, still stuck for how I'll publish it, if I go through Lulu it will be almost £4 a copy, and I wanna keep it less than 2000AD, which is £1.75. Might use a printing service in Cambridge/Lincoln and ask them to do it on crappy 70gsm paper (which I'd actually prefer beleive it or not) and not even fold and staple it, to keep costs down as much as possible. Then comes actually getting it out, with Lulu it's a simple as posting a link but without I'd have to set up some kind of mail order business in my bedroom and factor in postage and loads of annoying stuff, orrrr just sell it only at the UK Webcomix thing, meaning people will only have a chance to buy it every 364 days XD.
02/09/07 - Shine on, silver sun Work continues (really!) on issue 1 of the Red, White & Blue. And to prove it I've made a rudimentary page about all the publications I aim to do at one time or another. I might even end up setting up some mail order business from my room XD. Anyway check out the new "Self Published" link at the bottom of the comics menu. Or go to www.crystal-knights.co.uk. I've also re-arranged and made a few small tweaks to the other items of the menu and the comics index page.
10/10/07 - Fucking Lincoln Having decided that all videogames are, in fact, bland samey shit which are creating a "lost generation" of barely-literate cattle who probably reckon the film "The Longest Day" is a ripoff of the Medal of Honour games, I have ripped the old games section apart, leaving only the downloads, which are now listed under "other". Oh and all my videogame projects that where planned or underway are now cancelled forever, just so ya know XD. I'm back at Lincoln university, and it's unbearable, so I will be going away again. Most likely on the 16th after SLF have played here XD Only one more page of comic needs to be done for the Red, White & Blue, then the cover, a "next issue picture", a short article on Sexton Blake, and it's DOOONE. Still hoping to have 3 issues done for the UK Webcomix Thing in March 2008, but it's probably more likely to be 2 now. I've just been so 'beaten' feeling I haven't had the energy to do anything much at all Lincoln Smith's have stopped selling Commando comic again, fucking city... still there's some nice second-hand bookshops here still. The Oxfam is legendary, and Harlequinn would be too if I could find anything/it was open. I just KNOW there's gonna be loads of stuff I really want in there, but you gotta get to it first! Or else be rich and just grab a huge haul at random... hmm...
27/12/07 - Leave a message when you hear the gong About time there was an update XD. Anyway the self-published comics section has had some minor updates, to reflect the fact that issue 1 of the Red, White & Blue is now definitely ready and printed, and also that I have booked a table at the Thing (number 71, right on the right hand side when you come in, look out for a gigantic union jack) in March 2008. Work on issue 2 of the RWB continues, I've already done the Sexton Blake story and all the illustrations for it, plus two Eugene Manx pages.
30/01/08 - March of the defenders of Moscow General update time! Thing: Preparations for the Thing are well underway, my anthology submission is almost "in the can" so to speak. Unfortunately that doesn't mean flushed down the bog. Issue 2 of the Red, White & Blue 'needs work' to say the least but ought to be ready in time, though a desperate rush for the library printers may ensue. I hope that 24 hour opening campaign works. Scum Slaughter will now be sold for 20p at the 2008 Thing, any leftovers in 2009 will be free though, definitely. It will also be up for comic trades off people, and traders will also get a small 8-page mini comic of reheated leftovers from the early version of SCV and RWB. I'm also planning a big googie sign (splittable into small cardboard sections for easier transport) to go with my gigantic union jack. Comics: Issue 2 of the RWB, as I said, has stalled a bit while I work on the anthology submission, but ought to continue at speed through Feb (with the odd bit of uni work tossed in as an afterthought, my priority is getting out of here not passing). The Pocket Libraries are also in the planning stages. They ought to be A5 sized with colour covers and the odd black and white illustration inside, along with longer stories than the text ones in RWB. 2-3 stories are planned, though one may be able to be crammed into the RWB. One of the stories is also even 'topical', as golden age Sexton Blake used to be. All I'll say is the title is "The case of the terrorist who wasn't". I may get involved in some way with the Camden comics stall too this year. Site: The message board has been re-organised and cut back, though nobody uses it anyway XD. I also now have a Futaba-style image board. This one of course requires no registration, so get posting!. Registration on certain sections of the message board may soon be disabled (the self-published comics section for certain) tentatively, so Thing customers can leave their thoughts, and to see if a spam attack happens. Another possible section is one about my collection of Boys' Own-style stories.
23/03/08 - Thing Report! Is now up, here
14/05/08 - Insanity, The Game! Remember the Insanity Please RPG Maker game from 2001/2? Well now there's a new version! For those that did play the old one, that was about 2 thirds of the 'progress' of the new version storyline-wise. But the new version also has many, many new additions, cleaner and better NPC dialogue, much improved and more detailed towns and house interiors and numerous other improvements and additions. There's around 2-3 hours of gameplay in it if you try and do everything, so if you've got nothing better to go, go and download it now! In other news the colour scheme and fonts of the site have been changed slightly and the index page has been modified and tidied. I was also going to do a new googie-style logo but never got around to it. I was embroiled in University work but that is now coming to an end and I'll have plenty of time to work on comics and other things again. I'll also be going to the Download Festival from the 11th to 16th of June, so anybody else that is going- look out for me and my cute friend Chrissy as we stumble about in a drunken / heatstroke'd stupor. On the Red, White & Blue front, I have written the Sexton Blake written story for issue 3, and it's a corker, over 10,000 words of modern-day set action with brawls, chases, an evil and ruthless villain and a gigantic train crash! I have also decided to up the size of a standard RWB issue to 24 pages, though I haven't any ideas what to fill the extras with as yet XD. One new feature which is in place is Sexton Blake's Casebook, a look back at some of his most daring past adventures (as in the ones published in old storypapers XD). I may also revive one of my old humour comics for the back two pages, which will be in colour, too! Watch out for it at the Thing in 2009! (as I've more than likely left it too late to book places at any other 2008 conventions by now... no money anyway since I bought the Download ticket)
02/08/08 -Few days til exam re-take XD Work is now underway on the third and final part of the Eugene Manx story, which will temporarily leave the pages of the Red, White & Blue after issue 3. That will of course mean that the webcomic will cease updating for a time-but to compensate for that I'm planning on making some more "one issue a month" (hah!) Felney-at last! Also after issue 3 is "in the can" (there's still much to do on it, mind) I'm going to finally start work on the definitive version of "The Gun". Watch this space! Or that space, rather. The Gun will come in two versions, a "family friendly" black and white print version, which will be akin to "War Picture Library", a pocket library comic from the 1950's with an unrelenting grimness to it, and the "online" version which will be in colour and will feature swearing, blood and political content. Also there's even a chance of Insanity Please and Agent Smoke seeing updates-I'm on a comic roll right now. Onto website news, I've been doing a bit of tidying and general housekeeping. Mainly in the Agent Smoke and Eugene Manx pages. The Story Chronology has had tweaks too, as if anybody but me is even interested in it (oh well, it's a handy reference for my own use). The The Gun section is next on the list for fixes and alterations. I'm also planning on uploading the un-coloured lineart from the two failed re-makes, so you can see the way the strip could have gone. The definitive version is considerably different, hardly recognisable, even. After uploading the Insanity Please RPG (Critical acclaim from my mate Natasha: haha i played ur rpg omg, its so funny / ur such a nutter) I noticed a few bugs, for instance a completely pointless "car" (raft!) which appears on land but which can't move on land. Version 3 ought to be out "sooner" than the length of time version 2 took to come out, though that still may be a year or two. I haven't touched it in months but I was working on a very cool new aircraft chipset. However who can tell where my interests may lie in a few month's time, I may be RPG-obsessed again and not delivering any comic updates-such is the way of my brain XD.
01/09/08 -Short update I've done a little tweaking around the site (namely fixing various duff links on the links page). I've also removed the imageboard as nobody was using it (OK nobody's using the forum either but I'll leave that hanging around on the off chance XD). I've left the folder and link for the imageboard up, though, as there's the potential for that directory to take on another meaning and use in future. I've also added a link to my Blogspot blog dealing with the old Union Jack storypaper (of which the Red, White & Blue is an unofficial continuation, of course). I'm going through the issues I have at the moment (which includes the first 25 from 1894) and reviewing the stories in them, as well as commenting on any other items of note. The U.J. ran for almost 39 years, covering 2018 issues. So far I have reviewed, er, 3. Speaking of the RWB, It was always intended to recall the old storypaper days of the 1890's to 1930's, the adventure comics of the 40's to 60's, and the "tougher" comics of the 70's and 80's. Tigers Of Punjab being the obvious candidate to represent the latter. However the page layouts have kept to a more old-fashioned rigid panel layout so far, but this will change in issue 3, and the story will take on similar layouts and action scenes to early Judge Dredd. Though for the traditionalists, the other comic serial (Eugene Manx, coming to an end in issue 3) will keep the more solid, conservative layout approach. Other comics traditionalists may look at the covers of the two already-produced issues and lament the days when comics used to have strip on the cover-well they need lament no longer! From issue 3 a full-colour tale of Sarah Millman (of Agent Smoke fame, though rather toned down for the family friendly RWB) will start, and will be presented in 3-page instalments. I have also decided to knock the planned "Sexton Blake's Casebook" feature on the head, and will instead produce a 祖omic-about an event very relevant to the Tigers of Punjab, The battle of Saragarhi-you've heard of the 300, this was the 21! Future issues may use these two pages for instalments of yet another serial, likely a text one (undecided what to do it on- the Roman occupation? A boarding school story? The Navy?). All this will still be at the loss-making price of £1! (or maybe "£1ス" if the credit crunch has caused a major printing price hike in the uni library- Back to the website, there remains the very vague possibility that the photo gallery section will be updated. If I can be bothered to manually make thumbnails anyway. (Or I suppose I could steal them from Myspace or Facebook, where they are made automatically). Well, that update wasn't so short after all.
23/12/08 -I don't update very much do I? Note added 7th Jan 09: ONLY just got internet access back (well OK I actually did last night but was too busy with an essay) after discovering it had buggered up as I was going to upload this update. It was then "initialising" right up to Jan 6th! Update for 2009 coming sometime. Right, it's time for the sixth update of 2008: Nothing has happened! But more importantly, there are no more tables at the UK Webcomix Thing 2009, though I still hope to go as a visitor and ought to try selling comics out of a bag. I'll also be chucking out flyers like nobody's business at anybody I can harass XD. Issue 3 of the Red, White & Blue is still not done due to too much university work. It probably won't get finished until I finish uni in may 2009, now. That does give me time to improve my art skills in lectures, mind. The third part of Eugene Manx is already looking a bit wonky compared to what I can achieve now. And some of the art on the Sexton Blake story might get re-done entirely, as it's so bad. I have been able to snatch short bursts of work on the first issue of the Red, White & Blue Adventure Library, an A5-sized storypaper. Issue 1 will be a Sexton Blake story set in the first world war, with brutal scenes of battle alternating with tense spy drama set in a castle high in the Bavarian mountains. Another big project I have plans for after university finishes is to greatly expand the crystal knights site. Currently it is only about my self-published comics but I want to turn it into the ultimate resource for British comics and Storypapers, collating information from various books and sites that are available. But in addition to dry "this comic ran for this long and had this character in it" information, I also want to actually describe the stories within. Obviously such a huge effort is going to take a great deal of time, and will require lots of outside assistance from other collectors. Hopefully the finished result will be well worth the effort, though. I'm also considering a wiki-style site with actual issue-by-issue information on comics and storypapers, alongside pages for major characters, writers, artists and editors, all cross-referenced. There is another site in that vein just for storypapers (and not wiki-ised), but it is, again, just a collection of statistics, with no real feeling for what the stories are actually like. There's such a gigantic wealth of picture and text stories out there in dusty collections, and some of it is very good indeed -it's story deserves to be told.
13/01/09 -MMIX it up Ok, that joke is played out now. But 2009 has bought with it a bit of a revamp on the site, a new colour scheme (that I refer to as "sunset" for lack of any better term), a bit of a general move-around and one huge new feature! The feature in question being the new British Comics area, and it's vast wiki site that (it is hoped) will one day catalogue and review all the issues of British-based comics and storypapers, along with interesting features on their origins, famous characters and plots, and the people behind them. But it needs the help of outside contributors to start throwing in big amounts of information (I'm too busy with uni right now to go through my collection), so if you have any British comics laying about, get typing! The Wiki is now located at www.crystal-knights.co.uk/ whilst the page about my self-published comics (nothing to report on that front, by the way) is now at http://press.felney.co.uk/. You might also have noticed that the main site has again been re-named Felney Productions-but a new logo hasn't been made yet. The other changes to the website are just general shifting about and streamlining. The documents about Anarchy have finally been eradicated, and the "other writings" section broken up. The Sexuality section has also been dismantled and the bits and pieces of it moved around the site. Also the Games and Cars section have now been moved into Other, which has itself been re-arranged slightly, and some more rubbish has been thrown into the skip for collection. The comic convention reviews now have a page of their own and a few other minor tweaks and fixes have been done. As with all move-arounds and renovations, a few things have probably gotten lost (or have dead links!) in the process. Also there may still be some wet paint (or pages that don't link to the CSS sheet and so look white) around. These ought to be repaired in due time as they are noticed.
26/01/09 -Guilty until proven guiltier Hourly Comic Day is held every year on February 1st, I took part in it last year and will this year, and to organise the site better I have now added an hourly comics page in the comic section. Well the image files were going to be hosted on this webspace anyway, so I thought I might as well make them accessible. And then one I had done that I also decided to choose six other days at random on which to do hourly comics, so remember to visit on the days after those's to see "amusing" commentary on the amount of tea I drank, or something. Also, a new thing has been added to the Skip, about writing sure-fire award winning comedy. And I also took the opportunity to do the usual bit of misc. tidying up around the site.
03/02/09 -Hourly comics up 2 days late (well actually as I finished hourly comic-ing at midnight if I had scanned and uploaded them right then and there they still would have been "one day late" date wise XD), but now available. Unless of course you are a reader of the hourly comics forums, in which case you have seen it already. I also realised that the Massacre Art section needs updating, so I'll be doing that at some point. Oh and if you haven't noticed I'm trying to bring back the "short and often" news updates of the site's early days. I will try not to XD quite so much, mind.
05/02/09 -??????? The 2007 Massacre Art section has been uploaded. Better late than never eh? 2007 was probably the worst year of my life so there's some proper sickness in there. Unfortunately 2008 was pretty nice by comparison so I might not even bother scanning stuff from that diary. In other news there ought to be an announcement of the Download Festival headliners soon, as well as a sale of cheaper tickets, still undecided about going. Might wait and see who's playing.
29/03/09 -Awh baggah! It was an hourly comic day today, but I completely forgot about it >.<. I do however have the excuse of having only just discovered the Lincoln local pub gig scene. There was a thriving one in Cambridge I used to love being a part of, but in Lincoln I didn't think there was anything. Turns out, though, that it's possibly even more active than Cambridge here! So, three gigs in as many nights later (rounding off last night's with a trip to the brilliant Sugarcubes, who even played something I requested!) and I wasn't feeling particularly "active" today, so the comics wouldn't have been any good anyway. I'll do them tomorrow instead as I'm actually doing some stuff then. In other comic news, the UK Web & Mini-comix Thing was today, I couldn't go ;_;. The first time I've missed once since the second one in 2005! It's sounding like it was mega-fun as well. And would have made a brilliant subject for hourly comics of course XD. If only I hadn't ruined my life by coming to university eh? Still at least I won't be making a longwinded report to read through. In other website content news, I know I promised to upload all sorts of odd new things as I had ideas for them, and then didn't. Well-been too busy with university work. Well not university work, wasting time on the Download forums. I have got plans for a page that will be pretty funny though, but it requires a wee bit more waiting for the last few lecture printouts from a lecturer who loves mangled powerpoint slides. I'll then post a top ten (or twenty) of the "best" ones. In other Download news, I'm definitely going! And going with my new probably-will-happen-this-time-really-boyfriend :3 which ought to be cute. I've also been getting into some of the bands playing. Faith No More, shock headliners for the Friday, are amazing. I'm also growing to like Tesla, Def Leppard, Steadlur and even Slipknot. Constrained budget means I can't buy lots of CD's though, and a refusal to pirate stuff means no free downloading (also it's all torrents and P2P these days and both of those are banned on my halls' connection). I'm also off to another event in Leeds called Deathfest. That's mainly mega-heavy screamy type bands, but they're fun to mosh to, and to laugh at the semi-knowing ridiculousness off it. I'm also "going with" a Japanese woman who's coming all the way over to see one of the bands! In other live bands news, I damaged one of my ears at Stiff Little Fingers (probably the support) and now have a constant ringing sound in one that's probably permanent. It was going away but the recent three pub gigs didn't help and now it's louder than it was. Though will hopefully get quieter again like it was before. Must remember to get earplugs before I go and see the seriously loud metal of Deathfest! I also mentioned to numerous people that I fancied learning to play bass guitar and kept getting egged on (most encouraging was a derisory snort from my guitarist brother after I said "because it's supposed to be easier than guitar" XD). Cash Converters tiem! As soon as I get money anyway, which won't be for months and months. Oh and finally I have a youtube at last. That does mean I should be banned from voting though. I'm sorry, but the comments on there are so stupid that ALL youtube users ought to be tarred with the same brush. Anyway it's at http://www.youtube.com/felneymike
14/05/09 -Hourly comics You may have noticed that the hourly comic mentioned in the last update was finally uploaded almost a month later. You might also note that another hourly comic date (10th may) has passed but it has not been uploaded. This is because it contains some personal views on "current", "controversial" things in my life and may cause hassle if exposed to the public gaze immediatley. Hassle I don't need in this exam period. So it will be uploaded later instead. In other news I have a few plans for content to add to the website, but as it's the exam period I can't do it at the moment XD. Once they are done (on Monday) I'll be free a while. I want to add more Vitalize content, including an "interactive" website logo-with zombies! Also planned is an interactive "site map" which you can run around in like a town. While shooting zombies. You may notice those are not actually new ideas but ones I had ages ago, now that I have free time they might actually get done though XD. I also want to do an update to British Comics Miscellany again. Don't think I could stretch to a big update though, might just review an 80's Victor issue.
04/06/09 -Ooooops! I have managed to very cleverly miss another hourly comic day -_-, gonna be busy in Happiburgh (or however it's spelt, it's not spelt Hayesburough, which is how it's said) tomorrow most likely, so I won't really be able to do one then either. OR the next day when I'm going to be getting drunk at Strawberry fair. Oh well. To make up for that I WAS going to upload the previous hourly comic, but I just turned away from the computer to find it and it's nowhere to be seen. I must have left it in Lincoln -_-. So to make up for THAT, have a new videogame instead! It's in the new Online Games section under "Other", and more will be developed in time. Though quite how much time is anybody's guess as regular visitors to the site (both of them, hello Dave and Yasue) will have by now noticed that sometimes I am busily working on videogames, RPG's or Doom wads, and other times I'm ignoring those or doing comics. In fact most of the time I'm ignoring all of them and playing Doom or reading comics instead. I am also slowly working on a new downloadable game that I hope to finish before I give up on game making again. It's a "Crazy Taxi" style game with an isometric view, and the taxi you drive is a big 50's Cadichevrolordebaker with a rumbling V8 and crazed Jamaican driver. So far I'm 3D modeling the player's car. It's going to be done in Multimedia Fusion 2, though, so the car sprite made up of renders from the model with have 32 viewing angles. However I'll be using a custom driving system to give it 360 "real" angles of steering, and of course allowing for big drifts! Also I have a couple of ideas for smaller games that are neither here nor there at the moment. One is called Attack Of The Killar Chibi From Hayle, and is based on an old Felney strip, and the other involves classic cars and zombies.
17/07/09 -Finally a new update University is officially over-and now I'm on the dole, magic! BUT I did blow the remaining money from my student loan on a plane ticket to Japan! :3 going there in September, it ought to be good fun. My first proper foreign holiday, as a weekend in Disneyland in France hardly counts, that's more like holidaying inside the TV. Anyway, onto actual website updates, the games section has been fiddled around with and sorted out, as the CSS file link was missing on a lot of the pages there. Also a new game is available -Jambuster EX! It's a very improved version of the original Jambuster game I made back in 2001.
27/07/09 -Mrs Lovett's pies are-people! The hourly comic for the 10th of may 2009 is FINALLY up-now that I'm never going to see the various people it insults ever again. Also, I decided to make up for the missing June 4th one by making the September 14th one instead cover a 24 hour period going from whenever I wake up on the 14th to that same time on the 15th. However as I'll be in a totally different time zone on the 15th it may be longer or shorter, haven't got around to working it out yet XD. Either way it's going to be an interesting time, well apart from the 16-odd hours on a plane anyway. I'll take many Sexton Blake and Edge things to read.
30/07/09 -Captain Hurricane is the greatest The Felney comic has now been moved to the regular comics pages, and shares the same CSS style as all the other comics. The main Felney page now also contains the drop down menus. The www.felney.co.uk address now links to the Felney Press page, which is about my various self-publishing efforts, and which will be completley overhauled in the not too distant future. For a start the Red, White & Blue has a completely new, and very grand, logo.
29/08/09 -Bulldog Drummond is my hero Almost a month since the last update! I've uploaded a new section, a fansite for GTA fangames. This contains reviews of various home-made GTA games created by people around the world, for anybody who just can't wait to explore a new city and "test" some new cars! So far there's only two detailed reviews, but several mini-reviews for other games -just google the names and you ought to find downloads. In other news I have a "temp" job which is being extended and extended XD. I definitely have it up til I go to Japan on the 14th of September, and then we'll see when I come back. Still applying for other places, though. In other other news I have taken the plunge and started learning Japanese. Which carries unfortunate connotations of otakuism*. Ahh if only Yasue could speak German I'd have an excuse for finally learning that instead XD. Oh well, it is to Britain's shame that a second language is an exception rather than a rule here, so I'll try my best! Might even open up a job opportunity in 2012, directing Japanese people to toilets ("Ano wa doronuma desu"). In further minor news Inglorious Basterds is brilliant. It's not quite a return to the glory days of family-friendly war films ending with a pan up to the sky accompanied by a harmonious rendition of a patriotic song, but it'll do. There's even loads of subtitles in it to keep idiots away. It also chucks historical accuracy very far out of the window!
* - Buying up an armful of Escaflowne and AI Love You comics probably didn't help either. But in my defence they were 49p each (normally £5-6.99) so I can easily unload them on the next idiot** that happens by for £2-3 and leave him thinking he's got a bargain. ** - Though not the same kind of idiot that hates subtitles, obviously. In fact this kind of idiot usually hates anything without them!
04/10/09 - Britannia's not prepared to take an insult, yet. Here I am back from Japan! I had a great time there, and saw many wonderful things. And usually bitterly thought "why can't Britain do it this way, the trains might run on time then!" But enough of that, now I have returned I've found myself unemployed again, magic. Back to the job centre soon, then! Unless something turns up. In actual website news, the self-published comics section has had a minor overhaul, and a long news update over there explains where I am currently (and how little progress has been made, magic.) I've also deleted the forum as it was attracting far more spam robots than real people to make tinkering around adding a spam-avoiding question plugin worth installing.
08/11/09 -I love bonfire night and long may it continue. I missed another Hourly Comic day date -excuse this time? I got a job! Interesting that two arbitrarily-chosen dates from back in Feb some time both fell on significant life events. The next one is due on November 16th, free time at work permitting to do some sketches. Or maybe some other significant life event will happen on that date too-hope it's a good one XD. In other news I have done some mild tweaking in the writing section. Work continues to slowly plod on at issue 3 of the Red, White & Blue. I'm also working on a videogame which will help people to learn Kana, two of Japan's four alphabets. I got a couple of games with an ebook I bought, but they were so shoddy and badly-made I thought I壇 be able to do better myself. Oh yeah my one will also be freeee! I don't know if I want to make it in MMF2 (most likely choice), Unity (a powerful 3D game-making engine, which uses Java, a language I know nothing about) or Darkbasic (just to say I did it). Actually come to think of it Darkbasic might be the best bet in this case, the game will just involve manipulating a few bitmaps and picking random numbers, what could go wrong?
29/11/09 -Publish the Roy of the Rovers first season book you tight bastards! The section you assumed would never be updated again has been updated! Yes the GTA Fangames Review site has one new in-depth review and several new mini-reviews. I would have done two reviews but unfortuntely Word 97, which has served me well as an HTML editor since 1999, has finally failed me, some visual basic error means I can't even put images in pages now. So I need to learn how to do html in notepad find another WYSIWYG HTML editor that's as simple to use and free. I think some have even been made using Clickteam products, so it's off to the Daily Click I will trot later. In other news I have booked a table at the UK Webcomix Thing 2010. I'll be at table 79, which is right at the back of the hall in the middle, so if you can get to London on the 27th of March next year come in and buy some proper Boys-Own adventure yarns (and Scum Slaughter too, at a knock-down price because I'm fed up of tripping over the buggers). The Thing site still doesn't have any banners to put on homepages, so I decided to make my own one. It's very artistic I think. I'm also preliminarily starting work on a new videogame, my first one in Unity! Well I did pay around £150 for it (shortly before they released the next version for which they charge £0, Brilliant! Unfortunately I know nothing about 3D model making, but will eventually get around to trying out this Blender thing I have been hearing about (and tried once before a very long time ago -before video tutorials) and seeing how I do. I somehow suspect, given my "success" with other modelling programs, that I might just have to write off that £150 and forget about it.
19/12/09 - Not quite a month since the last update. See, i said i'd make more frequent updates in 2009! Anyway this time there is a new videogame available, a simple one called Kana Learna. It's a quiz-like game that helps you to learn Japanese Kana (two of thier four alphabets, the two uniquely 'Japanese' ones). If you're into that kind of thing. In other news an update to the Felney Herald is being slowly worked on. As intimated in my last news update Word 97, which i had been using since 1999 to edit web pages, finally stopped working. I don't know if it was incompatibility with an updated XP, the CD being buggered up, or both. Either way i have switched to a new program called Pagebreeze, which i am still getting used to. It has a few quirks of it's own, such as how invisble tables in it are actually invisible (in Word 97 they were light grey), which makes them a bit hard to set up and lay out properly. It has it's advantages too, mind. For instance it doesn't resize images to the size it "thinks" they should be. Nor does it "correct" table cell spacing and cell padding to what they "should" be. Anyway when i went into the Felney Herald folder i discovered i had actually made a short one-page update for it back in 2007, which i had then forgot to upload! Which is annoying as it's probably the funniest Felney Herald issue ever. Oh well when the new update is done i'll upload them both at once, two for the price of one!
21/12/09 - Herald updated! Oops, forgot to put the correct date on the last news update. Oh well i'll correct it on the news page. Anway, the updates to the Felney Herald are now updated. See the not-that-great new issue or the actually good but overly-late one i did in 2007! Also i may have accidentally recommended a program called Pagebreeze in my last update. Don't use it - it's shit! Creating tables in it is completley fucked. Unlike Word 97 where you could select a row of 3 cells, and make it 4 cells by going to "cell properties" and inceasing a number by 1, Pagebreeze decides to be uncooperative. You go into "row properties", and see that the row "spans" 3 columns, you increase this number by 1 and it adds an extra column to ALL the rows. But... but... but... didn't i click on ONE row and go to an option called "row properties"? Why are you editing the whole table? I then decided to click on the middle cell and try and split it in two, not an ideal way but at least i'd have something. Wait a minute, it says that the cell spans 12 columns! 12! All of the rows in the table have different numbers of columns in, but the largest of them all is 3 columns, where did 12 come from? Anyway, already knowing it was going to fuck up i increased the number to 13. Guess what happend? Yep, another column added to the WHOLE TABLE again. But i was clicking on ONE cell and going to "CELL properties". WHAT THE FUCK. The final straw came when i tried to edit the page i had JUST STOPPED EDITING SECONDS AGO. The thing locks up, i give it the three fingers and close all instances of "pagebreeze" and, to be on the safe side "iexplore". Then i try to open it again, now it's opened "stuck on minimised" and i can't do anything with it. I restart the computer and try again... SAME RESULT. That's right, if Pagebreeze crashes once, it crashes FOREVER. After the computer's been off all night and day i tried it again earlier, still fucked! I even tried renaming the page it was trying to edit (it always opens the one you were last on) to see if it was that page that was causing the bug, nope, now it just crashes and gets "stuck minimised" saying "cannot find page" instead. SO, it's off to find another web page creator, anybody know a decent one?
02/01/2010 - WYSISYG HTML Editor reviews, honest ones! After my rant about Pagebreeze in the last update i have been trying some other HTML editors that i was able to get hold of. I thought it was maybe a good idea to relate my experiences here so you know which ones to download, and which ones to avoid. Webdwarf - Ok, that's it downloaded and installed. Now, lets open at HTML file ...what it can't open HTML files? Only "projects" that have been previously made in it? WHAT. THE. FUCK. Biggest waste of bandwidth ever, and i've downloaded Guilio Galassi doom wads! Verdict: Shittest thing ever Sea Monkey - Ah, this one's more promising, as in it can fucking open a page. Right, lets try to add a new section to the Story Chronology page. Here we are, add a new row... what, why has it given the new row 8 columns? The row i clicked on to add a new one below only has two columns in it. Oh well, lets merge these 8 into two. What? Why has merging the 6 in the bigger column added loads of little piddling cells to every other row? WHAT THE FUCK. Ok lets look at table properties, what? Why does it say the table has 8 columns... anybody looking at the page can clearly see that some rows have 1 column, and some have 2. Where the FUCK did 8 come from? How could anybody design such a SHIT program? Why can't it just add a row that looks the same as the one i clicked on? Verdict: Shit, don't bother Kompozer - The layout of the folder it was installed into was worryingly reminiscent of Sea Monkey, when i opened it the interface was worryingly reminiscent of Pagebreeze. So does it work properly then? Does it fuck. Identical table problems to Sea Monkey - do these scum think people don't use tables or what? Verdict: Shit, don't bother Amaya - This pile of shit ought to carry a health warning. Ugly, cluttered interface, ram hogging, very slow scrolling (how dare you have a long page with a lot to read on it?). It also only partly loads CSS, so when i was trying to edit the Story Chronology page (or, mercifully, a copy of it) it loaded the CSS which made the cell backgrounds black, but NOT the CSS which defined the text colour - meaning i was reading black text on a black background! It also fucked up the cells with a single line across the table. Plus when i clicked on a cell and clicked on "insert..." it just added a blank text line. WHAT THE FUCK. Surely "insert..." with the "..." at the end means that you click on it to bring up another menu where you can choose what you want to insert? Has that not been a STANDARD since the days of Acorns, for FUCK'S sake? To give this piece of shit one more chance, i opened the page, saved it, and closed it, having done NOTHING to it. I then opened it in IE, surprise surprise, the formatting is all fucked up! Verdict: This isn't an editor, it's a fucking virus Trellian Webpage - "Choose the version you want, enter your email address then complete this form" ...ahahahaha. Fuck you. Verdict: Scum Frontpage Express - Effectively has NO table editing options. Yes, you read that right, NO table editing options. Verdict: Sheer disbeleif Openoffice.org Writer (2.0) - I was really hoping this one would work. Openoffice Writer, with it's sensible and logical handling of columns (as opposed to the utterly shit way Word handles them) seemed the perfect option. My confidence rose when i was able to edit tables exactly the way i wanted to (albiet slightly more slowly and clunkily than in Word 97). Then i came to save and the dream turned sour. It deleted the link to the CSS style sheets and drop-down menu. That's right, it deleted the links to the CSS style sheets and drop-down menu. It hasn't heard of CSS. It deleted the link to the CSS sheet. In the 21st century. It hasn't heard of CSS in the 21st century. Verdict: Great word processor, bad webpage editor. It hasn't heard of CSS... i mean WHAT THE FUCK. Openoffice.org Writer (3.1) - Ah, of course, i'm using an old version. Surely the BUG with the CSS and drop-down menus will be fixed in the newest version. I mean, deleting important parts of webpage code in the interests of "tidying it up automatically" can only be a BUG can't it? Nope, the same BUG is present in the latest version too. You'd think they would have fixed the BUG between now and 2006, when the last version i had was released, eh? Verdict: They're taking thier time fixing that BUG aren't they? Fix Word 97 and use that - In desperation I turned to re-installing Word 97, seeing what wouldn't work, then searching for a fix. Turns out htmlmarq.ocx is seemingly already installed as a different version in Windows XP. Luckily with some registry fiddling, as described on this site: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=142411 you can get it to reinstall correctly. I'm now using Word 97 to edit HTML with no bugs! It's like 1999 never ended. Verdict: An obsolete word processing app that's over 10 years old is STILL the best HTML editor! Oh, and Happy new year I suppose. My resolution is to do one panel of comic per day (or draw one day, colour the next for colour panels / pencil, ink and colour over 3 days for big or special panels / one page of text story / one page of script / one heading block or story illustration.) So you ought to see some productivity around here, including FINALLY starting the The Gun re-make (which was also originally made in 1997, fancy that). Might also get some more Felney out the door! Oh yeah, I should think days spent in Japan will be non-productive days, though.
13/02/2010 - Happy not-quite Chinese new year! I heard the chavviest conversation ever on the park and ride bus in Cambridge today, including gems like "I'm going on a test drive in one of them Kia's-cause you get £10 m&s vouchers", "I'll be getting me new land rovah or raynge rovah-I heard the freelander is good" and of course "ohh I don't wanna get 'ome" "why not?" "Mark will shout at meh for buying too many necklaces". As I got off the bus I turned around to see just what blonde, fat, covered-in-pink 'princesses' I had been overhearing-they were normal sized and looked about 45. WHAT. Oh also I uploaded a new comic section for-anything! It's a bit like the closing days of original Felney when I uploaded any old crap like fake newspaper cuttings, satirical images or weird sketches.
13/03/2010 - Disaster. The news section in the self-published comics section has been updated, effectively to say that it's unlikely issue 3 of the Red, White & Blue will be finished in time for the Thing 2010 at the current rate, as I don't want to rush the last bits of artwork like I did in issue 2. However issue 1 of The Trident, a text-only A5 sized paper, ought to be finished in time. In other news I've been doing quite a bit of thinking about the overall timeline of the "Felney universe", which is now a multiverse! Each section of the multiverse is given the name of a greek letter, and they are, at a basic level: Alpha universe: Real life. Beta universe: Almost real life but with stories which feature minor incidents, such as "The Day of Green Skulls" from the RWB. This is primarily for 'small' stories set in modern times as, in the main Felney universe (Gamma) Europe is a stalinist dictatorship between 2008 and 2014-which would make stories set in these times rather different! Delta universe: The one in which Felney takes place in, as all the other stories that happen 'around' it have diverged too much from reality XD. Gamma universe: The Felney Universe in which most of the older/bigger stories take place such as Scum Slaughter, The Gun and Zombie Shock Massacre -or the Gamma universe is also one in which zombies are real! A bit of a departure from real life XD. Various planned stories set in the future are also set in this universe, including Sarah Millman. Mu Universe: The universe in which Eugene Manx did not exist, and thus the "new" Nazis invaded Britain in 1977-it's the universe of "The Fourth Reich"-which was never even finished anyway! Omega Universe: In this one Hero of Alexandria invents the steam engine in Roman times, and thus the Roman Empire has the industrial revolution 1800 years early and rules most of the galaxy by 2006. Sigma Universe: The universe of Sexton Blake, as I have now written some stories of the character. This basically encompasses the Sexton Blake continuity and is thus separate entirely from all my other stories. Mark Hodder of www.sextonblake.co.uk has put together a timeline of the Sexton Blake stories. At some point I will draw up a(nother!) timeline of my stories explaining which universe they take place in. Some of them may take place in more than one universe. Also a version of Sexton Blake exists in many universes, but in the non-Sigma ones he will only be encountered in crossover stories. The Doctor of Doctor Who also exists in several of them but will never be seen-It's just an interesting idea of various weird time-hopping adventures taking place in the background XD.
02/05/10 - Election fever Oops, been a while since the last update! If you follow my British Comics Blog (easily the most popular section of the site despite it's slow updates) you will have already seen the Thing report-and the fact that I did actually get issue 3 of the Red White & Blue finished on time after all! Also issue 1 of The Trident is all but done, just needs arranging and printing. Then I'll start on issue 1 of SCV-or issue 4 of the Red White & Blue, not quite decided yet. Also I have "declared" for the upcoming election with the now traditional change of colour scheme. Lib Dems? You may well ask-don't they massively support the EU? Well yes, but it's probably going to have to get worse before it gets better, and also this overhaul of the voting system they want will apparently make things easier for smaller parties in the future-all of which lays the path for future UKIP victories! Also anything to get rid of the red lot.
13/05/10 - Oops Oops, forgot that I'd put the election colour scheme up! Now the site is finally back to normal. Oh and as a bonus the red lot did get kicked out after all. The government we have now is pretty unprecedented. The last time there was a coalition it was of all the parties and there was a pretty pressing matter to resolve. Things are certianly going to be interesting. As one bonus at least ID cards will probably be binned, and not before time! Also rolling classic tax exemption kplzthx. In less good news, there will be no more UK Webcomix Things! More info about that has been added to the news section of the self-publishing site.
04/09/10 - Felney is back! (again) The other night I was thinking I'd taken on a lot of comic work, attempting to get issue 1 of The Dragonfly done in time for the London Small Press Expo. Then I also decided to take on even more work and bring back Felney! So strip 16 is finally up after spending nearly 4 years in a half-finished state. What will the new update schedule be, then? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? No, it will be-more often than it has been! But seriously I'll try to work on strips to get the 'storyline', such as it is, moving. I have had about 100 scripts for Felney done for years, and have material for a lot more in my head that has built up during the intervening time. Also as I mainly make comics on paper now, there will also be Felney books at some point. Though I doubt any will be ready for the 2011 Expo we'll have to see. Oh yeah, the London SP Expo is the replacement for the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing, which breathed it's last in 2010. It's run by the people who make High Maintenance, who have had an Expo in Bristol for a few years, so it ought to be good. Finally my self publishing website, under the comics tab, has been updated with a new name (again!), a new logo and a new colour scheme. It is now called 1910 Press, as a reference to George Orwell's "Boys Papers" rant in which he accused them of being stuck in an endless 1910. 01/01/11 - You can bet this year's going to have a lot of silly updates just because of the date. Well the promised revival of Felney fell flat on it's face didn't it. At least, in this year of 2011, the story of Felney has now reached 2006. Maybe I'll continue it in 2016. But for now, Felney is going to be even more flat on it's face because I have new year's resolved on the difficult but hopefully-not-impossible course of taking The Red, White & Blue bi-monthly! Of course this is a family-friendly Boys' Own adventure comic that's printed on paper. This news page really relates to the rest of my website, which is filled with blood and swearing and 'printed' on the internet. What of that sort of thing? Er, well, there isn't any. I got bored of it. However early summer always seems to give me a blood-lust (probably something to do with the insects driving me crazy) so we'll see what I come up with then. Perhaps something with zombies in it.
11/04/11 - Do you like gore? Do you like violence? Remember the old webcomic Insanity Please, which was daily in 2000-2001, then briefly came back in 2005 and 2006? Well It's back again! This time I have decided to try and do it daily again. In the old days I used to draw each strip on the day it was uploaded, which isn't possible today. In the more recent revivals I just drew strips in arbitrarily-sized batches, then uploaded one of those every day until I ran out. This time around I've decided to draw a week's worth of strips every Monday evening・because I usually finish work a bit earlier on Monday. Also forcing myself to draw 7 comics when I really don't feel like drawing any is bound to improve my art skills and productivity・or send me insane. Anyway, the upshot of this is new content every day・and it's content that's going to be packed with ultraviolence! In fact todays strip features people being blown to shreds by a grenade, what more do you want?
26/04/11 - At Laaasst! Issue 3 of my self-published, jingo-tastic adventure comic The Red, White & Blue is finally finished! Well it is cover-dated "Jan-Feb 2011" ・-_- The Mar-Apr issue, which has not yet been started, will probably over run. Not that these will be available to buy, er, ever quite possibly. There's no conventions I could reasonably attend coming up before August, when I hope to leave the country. And it turns out Sexton Blake is still copyrighted after all, though apparently IPC, the owners, don't mind "non profit" fan fiction, if I set up an online store it may just be possible that I'll eventually slip into profit-making territory. Oh well, one day I might just stick up the comics in PDF form for free. It'll be a proper "web comic" that's actually a comic with several pages, stories, an editorial etc. Oh yeah Insanity Please continues apace. Sometimes the "daily updates" get delayed a day or two and then I have to bung up two or three strips at once - as has happened today, in fact. But the "draw a week's worth on one day" system seems to be working. Let's see if I can get it up to 365 daily updates! Might only end up taking 12 years. Aaand finally I have tweaked the drop-down menu a bit. Mainly removing things from it to make it load a bit quicker. Things like "The Fourth Reich", a crappy unfinished action story, don't really need to be featured on it. If people are that interested they can go to the main writing section and find it XD. I have also added my two other blogs - "Things Japanese", which was originally about my failed attempts to join the JET programme, but which will now just be about Japanese stuff. And also "Everything Else", aka "Stuff Blog", which replaces my livejournal as the place for regular ramblings about my life. It's easier to post pictures on so I prefer it.
23/03/12 - 1910 Press re-launched Maybe the "there will be loads of updates this year" update from last year didn't quite work out, eh? Anyway, the 1910 Press website has been re-launched at last, and comics are on the way! In addition I'll be trying to set up a way of selling them online.
07/07/14 - Wow, I really don't update this much Insanity Please is being updated again, after a hiatus of 'only' about 3 years and 2 months this time. Loads of people have moved out at work, so I have a "building to myself" (until / unless they decide to lock it up entirely, anyway), and will be able to draw at break times. Mind you, I do also need to write text stories for the next Red, White and Blue issue (it's already over a year late). I also plan to do some more New Felney. I scripted loads of episodes back in the day (though some of them need tweaking, as they are not funny), and am slightly more confident with drawing people now. New Felney was originally going to be set in The Beta Universe, which is like real life but slightly different (and where most of my 'down to earth' stories, like Mary of Middleford, are set). But instead I'm going to leave it in The Gamma Universe, which is the same universe as The Gun, Zombie Shock Massacre and so on. So the 2008 - 2014 period of New Felney will actually be pretty brutal, nasty and depressing. Just like the 2001-2006 period, then!
20/08/14 - One solid year of comics! Don't get excited, I haven't done a year of hourlies or anything. Instead, Insanity Please has reached 365 updates! Though, as Terra points out, they took a bit longer than one year...
29/08/14 - New New Felney! I've finally made a new New Felney, only took just under 4 years since the last "end of hiatus" one! I still go by the name Felneymike in many places, and the multiverse my stories take place in is still called the "Felneyverse", so I suppose I'd better add something to the "lead" comic! I'm also slowly working on a new site design, which Felney will be prominent on. I'm hand-making it with notepad, and the "fancy" menus are going to be downgraded to a bunch of buttons on an html page in an iframe. At least it will be easier to manage! The new design is going to be comic-focused (in fact, quite a lot of stuff is going to be deleted), and also have a big "wikipedia" about the various characters and stories I've made. All hand-made in notepad. I must be bloody mad!
29/03/15 - The Gun is here! My "Coming before the end of 2011, FRSRS!" comic, The Gun, is finally here! Well, actually, four parts of the re-re-re-re-make of it have now been completed, so it was about time I put some of them online. I'm going to keep the free online version two parts behind the paid-for print version. You can now read the first two parts, as well as some comments about them. I'm also doing a little overhauling on the other pages about The Gun. Not too much, though, it will get completely re-done when I finally finish the whole new website. In other news, the next weekend, in the UK, is going to be a four-day one. I hope to get Insanity Please up and running again. The reason it's stalled, this time, is the fact that the next few strips will all be big, epic splash pages. I need a whole day to draw them!
21/04/15 - Insanity and Agent Smoke Insanity Please is still being drawn, but a sudden cold knocked me back, so I'm behind. Also strip 400 took ages to do! It's a big celebratory pic with loads of characters from different comics. I'll upload all the backed-up strips as a bunch when They're ready - I'm nearly recovered now. I also want to get Agent Smoke up and running again. Thinking about trying to do a page a week. There will be a little more sex in it, but after that, it's booked for a gigantic car chase! Oh well, if you like classics (though they're all built in the 2050's-60's), keep an eye on it. I'm also thinking of a way to speed up my "properly drawn" print comics, as well as New Felney (I have another one of those that needs scanning and lettering, too). Basically, I always do rough pencils, detailed pencils, then ink. But the end result usually doesn't look much better than the scribbled-in-one-go Insanity Please, just the perspective is slightly better. I've decided to draw my proper comics in the same way as Insanity Please, just with pencils. The spontaneity of my scribble comics always results in pictures that look more "alive". The later "detailed pencils" will then just be a clearing up of lines and perspective, and trying to give characters more distinctive faces (something I have a huge problem with). Then comes the inks! In addition to this, I want to speed up Felney production even more, by replacing the cross-hatching with promarker shades of grey.
09/05/15 - Austerity Measures Implemented Oldcomp GFX card unwork. Newcomp bought but docs need transfer. Siteupdate doubleplusdelay. Thisspace watch.
17/05/15 - Off to Japan! (on the 19th) I'm going on holiday, whilst also running Insanity Please, the first time this has happened since I went to "Disneytopia" in 2000 (blimey, that long ago?). Last time, I suspended the comic, but this time, I've uploaded enough "daily" content to "run" up to the 10th of June (if you really want to read them one day at a time). Doesn't mean you'll like it, though! It's all recycled crap... some of it from before I even had a computer! 08/06/15 - Officially became a twat I forgot to upload the front page of Insanity Please, or to make the links in the archive go to the different pages (every one from 430 onwards linked to ...430). But now it's fixed. Regular updates carrying on from the 11th of June, I hope. Anyway, I had a GREAT holiday, saw some cool bands and made some nice new friends ^;^ . But none of them have Facebook, so I finally became a twat: http://www.twitter.com/felneymike I'll probably really only use it for staying in touch with those bands and people, or plugging my blog entries. It's not worth following XD 08/06/15 - Tiiired You've probably noticed that updates on my webcomics have totally halted (until today, anyway). I've also not done anything on my print comics. For some reason, ever since I came back from Japan, my state has only ever been tired, or asleep. I just can't get any energy, for some reason. Surely jet lag can't last a month? 30/09/15 - Ouch My webcomics (well, mainly Insanity Please) are on break again. This time, it was because my parents went on holiday (yeah, I'm still living as if I'm 17 in 2015!), and I had to look after the house... which wouldn't be so bad, but we have a very needy cat, so I had to stay downstairs, watching TV and hugging her, or she'd wail like buggery. I also had to sleep on my parents' bed with her, or she'd wail all night, because she "expected" somebody to be there. But she still kept nudging my face all night >.< . It was a choice of little sleep, or no sleep at all XD. I needed a break from the computer and "productivity" (even if you don't even see the results of most of that productivity for years!), anyway. Anyway, last weekend my parents got back, but I had to continue my break, due to getting a paper cut... ON MY EYE. After a day of agony, and a further day of mere pain, and extreme tiredness (I had to come home early from work, was only there 45 minutes... and still needed a short 5 minute shut-eye on the drive home), followed by a very long sleep, I'm back in business! But now I need to shower... and might watch the new Man From Uncle film tomorrow. From the trailer, it looked like a cultural marxist piss-take, but I also saw an interview which said it's a 'straight' re-make, not a comedy, so it might be worth a go. Wouldn't be a patch on a decent Champions film, though! (but that, too, would have to be set in the 60's). 18/10/15 - Some update Strip 500 of Insanity Please is finally finished! ...yeah, wasn't worth waiting for, was it? Also, the end of the Esper War (coloured with pencil) turned out surprisingly goo-, er, oka-, er, not shit. So I'm going to try and start doing Agent Smoke in colour, the same way. As the hatching kept destroying the detail on the main character's face (and all other Black or Indian characters, too. Though they seem to be in a minority, even though "brown" countries tend to be more homophobic on the whole than "white" ones. So people from those would have more of a reason to emigrate to a "Gay Isreal"). 21/10/15 - Well, I SAID Agent Smoke was gonna be in colour, because I somehow imagined colouring everything in with pencils would be quicker than hatching some things with one colour of biro. So that's out the window. What's even more out the window is reliable updates to my webcomics at all, as I no longer have a desk at work. Yes, the year-and-a-bit of distraction-free, comic drawing "good times" is now over, as they want to refurbish that whole half of the building into new labs. Of course, I should be living in Osaka by now, anyway. The working holiday visa is right there on the shelf! Still, another recent development at work is that I finally sorted out access to the site-wide wifi (only took me 5 years and 11 months). Also Wordpress now supports posting from the Android Chrome, so I may be able to knock out more blog entries than before. Still need to take / scan, and resize, images on a 'proper' computer, though. And now, if you don't mind, I'm going to fly into town to catch Jaws 19 07/12/15 - Se Daeg! Agent Smoke has reached 49 issues, but is now going to be stalled for a while. Still, I do want to do a colour special for the 50th strip. Maybe over the Christmas holidays? I've started half-arsedly nofapping, and drawing porn wasn't really helping with that. Even if it was porn only I found sexy, I imagine anybody else who comes across it will just laugh XD. On the other hand, I do want to get on with more Fiasco, to say nothing of my "proper" comics, so I'll probably work on some more Felney. I have hundreds of them scripted! I really need to work on methods to draw things that aren't biro scribbles faster! 03/02/16 - The Holidays, and a new strip! I had planned to finish the first issue of my print story-paper The Trident (and a few other surprises) over the Christmas holidays (I also planned to upload a news item about this in January, and only just found it, half finished, on my phone), but, on boxing day, I discovered that my old books were getting damp even against inside walls. After frantically drying them off, I had to go out and spend just shy of 」170 on book cases, which I then spent 5 solid days putting up, sorting out and tidying (also taking the opportunity to have a general re-arrange and chuck out, filled 7 bin bags with crap and 5 shopping bags with books for charity. Anyway, now we're into the second month of 2016, and the Trident's still not finished. Who even knows when the next Red, White & Blue will be done? Not that print comics matter over much, as I don't "do" conventions any more, so currently have nowhere to sell them. Anyway, the "other surprises" are also on hold / abandoned. But I have a different surprise - a Felney spinoff! I should be going on a working holiday in Japan this year, so I've started a strip about one. The main character is Jane Thristwaite, the now-grown-up girl from Felney, who arrives in Japan alongside Susan Buckthorn, from my one-off print comic Fiasco. It's going to be set in a small "Japanese Felney" village called Tabakushō. Though my own working holiday will probably primarily be in Osaka, maybe later moving to northern Honshu or Hokkaido. Tabakushō is also the first part of the new site design. I'm going to eventually "standardise" all the comic pages, split up related artworks and info pages, and significantly re-organise things. But that's going to take a considerable length of time XD. 27/04/17 - Osaka! (I'll be home soon) I moved to Osaka! And, more recently, started updating Insanity Please again... but then it stalled again. I now work as an English teacher (after about 6 months of unemployment, living on savings and cycling a lot), but I'm crap at it. I'd just got on to a cushy number of 50,000 yen per week, when I was pulled off and sent back to training, because too many parents complained that thier kids didn't enjoy the classes / couldn't understand my English (I'm not surprised). As training is only half-pay, and I've recently just had a bunch of days off because there was apparently nothing for me to do, I'm going to be very poor. Add to that the upcoming Golden Week (which is like Japan's version of the Easter / May bank holidays, only you get a whole week off) and I might not even made enough for the rent this month. As soon as I get my new visa (my current one is going to expire soon, but I got a "grace period" while the new one is sorted out), I'm going cap-in-hand to my family for a plane ticket, and getting out of here! Anyway, travelling on rush-hour Japanese trains / working with kids also means I'm pretty much in a constant state of mild flu, punctuated by real flu and colds, which hasn't helped with Insanity Please much either. I "fast forwarded" through a bunch of strips I missed, and hope to "buffer" them through Golden Week, as well as finally getting some drawing done on my proper comics like The Red, White & Blue, The Bluebird, The Trident, Felney and Tabakusho. Oh and also re-starting my "speed drawing excercise" Fiasco, this time for hosting on a site called Comic Fury, which I recently joined. I might even manage some more Agent Smoke, at this rate! 27/05/17 - Corrections in the Comic Section Yeah, no more Insanity Please got made, or Agent Smoke, for that matter. But I have done some fixing around the site. Due to screwups with the menu, and domain redirects, Eugene Manx, Mary of Middleford and Queer as Fuck have all been "inaccessible", so I have fixed them all, and also added the two "print" comics to the normal comics section, rather than the small press section, which will become defunct when the new site is (finally!) made, anyway. Also, the pages of those three comics are now as they will appear on the new design, the current drop-down menus will be dropped in favour of a less glamourous, but more efficient, iframe with CSS-generated buttons in it. For now the "new" menu is just a simpler placeholder. I also found a thing called Waifu 2x, which does high-quality size increases to artwork or photos. As the name sort of implies, it's mainly for weaboos to upsize old artwork of thier anime waifus, if those waifus are now long in the tooth and had more art made of them in the 90's or 2000's (perhaps even on CG Shrines, remember that?), but I have used it to upsize Eugene Manx, though now the art looks a bit "vectorey", at least the text is easier to read. More annoyingly, the hourly comic for the 14th of May was the first time in a while that I actually finished an hourly comic the same day. Shame it took nearly two weeks to get around to scanning and uploading it, eh? 03/10/17 - Oh yeah, I didn't actually leave Osaka ...because I quit the shit job and got a new one, and it's great! Considerably less pay, but what are 5kg sacks of rice for 1500 yen for, eh? Anyway, issue 30 of Felney and issue 4 of Tabakushō are both up. Felney was the last one in which I tried using grey Copic pens as "colour", and Tabakushō is the first one in which I'm using the grey shading as mere "enhancement" to the things that are the focus of the scene, and/or to darken the background out. A more important update is that I might finally start knocking out comics at a decent rate! Since 2006 I've been using Pilot gel pens for inking, and have always been paranoid about the ink smudging when I move my hands / a ruler over it, because it takes ages to dry. This resulted in me drawing a few lines on one page, then switching to another, and taking long breaks too, so pages took ages to get done. I've now switched to Copic lineart pens, the ink from those dries a LOT faster, panels that used to take days to ink now take only an hour or so. The upshot of this being that Felney and Tabakushō might start moving at a pace somewhat above glacial, issue 5 of the RWB might get done by January 2018 and that "speed drawing excercise", Fiasco, might start to see some SPEED for once. Keep your eyes open! XX/XX/17 - DED The original incarnation of the site, first created in summer 2000, went offline on this day. 23/11/21 - BR-RR-RR-RR-RR-IP That was the Archvile's wakeup sound. Yes, the site is revived! Now with a new address - felneyverse.co.uk! It's very barebones at the moment. The in-progress (since 2014) new design is huge, but also cross-referenced a lot. I kind of have to build most of it, or at least placeholder pages, before I can upload any of it. I hope to have Insanity Please and Classic Felney up soon, though. Also, this update's actually being written on December 8th 2021. 14/09/23 - Got away wi' that... At last! There's been an update! Insanity Please and Tabakusho are now fully restored, and the other sections all have at least an index page, if not a few other odds and ends. There's still PLENTY more to make on the "proper" website, though. 27/09/23 - WARNING: Buffalo NAS drives Okay, okay, the new website's been a project since 2014 and is still nowhere near done, so losing a month or so isn't such a big deal. But I need to warn people about the CRIMINAL RANSOMWARE SCAM known as the Buffalo NAS drive. I bought one earlier in the year, though saw one negative review saying it had died on somebody. Never mind, there were plenty of good review (no doubt from people who had only just set it up). So I got mine, a 3tb LS210D0301G Linkstation to be precise, and yeah, it was pretty useful. FOR 6 MONTHS! I was able to rapidly share files between my laptop and phone(s - when I was between them), as well as an Android tablet. Oddly my windows tablet, on which I do flat colouring of artwork on the train, wouldn't connect to it for anything. THEN on Saturday 23rd this month, it decided to randomly die. The connection to it would flicker on and off for a few seconds, then it stopped working entirely. I took it apart (no screws, so you have to destroy it, bye bye warranty, eh?) and got the drive out, which is a standard Toshiba affair. Just put it in a caddy and use USB to get the data, you say? Yeah, that's where the the scamming, criminal scum get you - it doesn't use a file system recognised by Windows. You can use Buffalo's "recommended" (I suspect "owned") software ReclaiMe to SEE (but not GET) your lost files. You want to save them? Nah, you need ReclaiMe Ultimate, that'll be $179.95 my good man. Anyone else would call this ransomware, but somehow apparently they're getting away with it. Don't make the mistake I did! 10/10/23 - More updates (also happy birthday to me mum) While not a lot of actual content has been added, I've had a major jiggle-around in the background of the website to give the the rough directory structure the completed one will have. The files for the main project are still held hostage by Buffalo (the ransomware scammers whose products should be avoided), but once rescued I'll start on a sort of "gap-filling" uploading scheme, so bits of it will gradually appear, rather than waiting for everything to be done. That does mean many images and links will be dead, mind you. But hey, they are already! 12/10/23 - Now 'e sez 'e's seen the light, and sold his soul to punk! After the last update, where I said most of the files for the full version of the site were still held hostage by Buffalo (the ransomware criminal scammers), I only went and found an almost completely up-to-date copy of it on a USB stick! I don't even know why I put it on there (probably to work on with my tablet and a bluetooth keyboard during commutes). Anyway it's also quite a bit more complete than I realised, so I'll start getting bits uploaded! Still a fair few broken links and missing images in the near future, mind. Anyway, for now I've put up Scum Slaughter, my "woke" comic, Queer as FUCK, which is just plain stupid, and the Hourly Comics, which I keep forgetting to do. Also some other odds and ends have gone up around the site and I've modified the menu, though a lot of the stuff it links to still doesn't exist. Also I'm looking for a better and more "animated" way to do it. I've also started going through the old News Archive page and editing the links to wherever the content referred to is (or will be!) now. I'm also adding links in to older stories, and corrected a few dates here and there - mistyped months and years etc. I'll not change the actual updates, though. All that turbocringe I typed when I was 16 - 17 is too funny to lose! Looking through it has also alerted me to a bunch of "lost media", or projects that got abandoned / never made. I need to dig some of that up or create pages about it! Finally, my host has a "useful" method of redirecting dead links to the "next nearest" thing it can find. This means some dead images that have not yet been created / uploaded are replaced with others. This was apparent on the Otaku Bar Reviews page, where 3 seperate places shared the images meant for Mofuru Sennichimae. I've now put small notices in each gallery showing what the pictures "should" be named, so you know if they actually match the review you are reading! 15/10/23 - Squitch! Scum Slaughter went up in the previous update, but I was rooting around and discovered that the actal comic images of several pages are missing! They aren't even on the external hard drive I bought from the UK, suggesting that they've actually been missing for years! I've just been copying folders over across computers and hosting services without even noticing! Oh well, I put up a warning in the archives, anyway. Also, a fuller version of the Insanity Please site has been uploaded, including the bonkers Insanity Classic. And THAT has the unfinished second story that languished in a box 'o papers for years before I decided to re-scan it. The crappy animations are also back! Hooray...? Oh, and in the previous update I also put up Mary of Middleford and Eugene Manx, but plumb forgot to mention it. The latter also has an, erm "classic" version attached. Finally, the Games section has a rudimentary index page ready, and the Doom section has been filled out with wad downloads, project pages and a "lost media" page, trying to track down some of my old wads. Anyone got 'em? 22/10/23 - Are you a' goin to Kyoto fair? I went to Kansai Comitia 68 today, got a huge stack of great self-published comics! Shame I can barely read the titles of most of them. And only two are porn! Imagine that. Anyway, the last few comic conventions I've been to had Youtube videos made about them, but those take too long to edit, so I've decided to bring back the good old text reports! So Kansai Comitia will get it's own one soon. In actual site news, some more pictures have been added to the Otaku Bar Reviews page, and Insanity Please has had some updates and fixes, including an old FAQ page which I put into it's /oldstuff/ section. No actual new comics, mind you... 26/10/23 - Sir, I find it rather unpleasant to endure your presence when it is consistently all up in my shit. The report on Kansai Comitia 68 isn't done yet. It'll be better if I write it with my stack 'o comics to hand to better jog the 'ole memories. Anyway, you may have noticed that Japanese letters on the Otaku Bar Reviews page didn't display properly. I discovered the magic of defining charsets in meta tags, and so have fixed the issue. This will also be useful for any other pages displaying Japanese characters going forward. Which will probably be a few. Anyway, on to the actual content. I've made a month-by-month Potted History of the website. Actually of my entire time online, including the ultracringe and now lost FAT Magazine, Deathbringer's Cookbook (actually this can be found, but I'm not saying where or how!) and other assorted Anarky Philez and sites. Mind you the timing of most of that stuff was pure guesswork. My Hotmail account doesn't even have saved mails back beyond mid-2001, now. From September 2000 it's essentially a readable version of the News Archive page, with links to all the major sections and content on the site. I guess it's a kind of chronological site map? Well whatever, read it if you want! While working on Story Info down the years (just realised the process of making that section of the website is nearing it's 10th birthday! Fuckin' 'ell) I kept remembering obscure unfinished one-page comics I started as a kid then abandoned. Story Info lists ALL of these, it really is a complete guide to my head-world! Anyway, just the other day I remembered another of these, but this one dated from 2007! It was called Four Colour Nightmare, and is kind of like Scum Slaughter, but there's three of them and they fuck as much as they kill. I started drawing a picture of the characters randomly... and found myself coming up with ideas for a reboot! Should I?? Back in 2004, I briefly intended to replace Felney with a "New Felney" that was actually about my life. The actual New Felney ended up being, well, a better version of the original Felney (restoration coming soonish!). The "comic about my life" was renamed Mike Comix. I did a few but never uploaded them. Anyway, today I did a NEW one! So you can visit it's rather barebones site. OR, scroll down! Yes I also decided to use the magic of embed tags to put a comic on the front page of my comics-focused website! The front page design in the "proper" site rebuild had space for an "editorial cartoon", of ill-defined planningness. That's what the new Mike Comix will be... alternating between "my students said something funny / adorable" and "the British government have banned (thing) so honestly deserve to be strung up in a violent insurrection". Erm, "enjoy..." Oh, also, on December 2nd there's a small, 200-space (about the size of the late, lamented Thing!) self-published comic con in Osaka. Like Comitia, it's dedicated to original doujinshi (that's "self published comics where you don't see Naruto getting gangbanged", to you and me) and ought to be fun. Apparently it has a restrictive "all Osaka" remit, too, brace for Kansaiben! なんでやねん?? 28/10/23 - Saffron Walden. In the last post I said I would use embed tags to put the new Mike Comix on the front page, only it turns out embed is basically just "iframe" but a bit different. It also doesn't automatically match itself to the size of whatever is on the embedded page! This is no good for a random "anything" comic that will likely change size through the pages. "Use iframes!" you say, "I've seen scripts that make them change size automatically!" you say. Yeah I tried those scripts, at least five different ones. Each one is USELESS SHIT that DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Every combination of script and browser FAILED AND DID NOTHING. So... I now have the navigation links in a tiny iframe and the latest comic is always linked to as an image called "latest". Watch me fuck that up down the line and have the same "latest" comic even though there's 3 newer ones in the archives. Oh, also the EU News was restored last time, but I forgot to mention it. It originally had a link to the UKIP website at the bottom of every page, but that seems kind of a moot point now, eh? I don't even know what I can do with it anymore (not that I did much with it at the time, either), but it's there I suppose. 03/11/23 - Electric Pencil Sharpener. The Kansai Comitia 68 report is up, at last! Also I made a new Otaku Bar Review, and added a few more pictures and generally tidied up that page a bit. 05/11/23 - Kaboom. THREE new Otaku Bar Reviews have been added. Yeah it was a pretty good night. Also in the "Potted History" I said I'd apparently started an "anything comic", which I remembered nothing about. Well I found the material for it! I've added it to the archive of Mike Comix. I also added the "Smallwood" cartoons, a series of attempts at witty satire(!!!11lol) I did on Facebook back in 2015. 19/11/23 - Push it to the limit. Finally some proper movement on the Storyinfo section! ...sort of. I've uploaded the Beta, Delta and Eta pages. I uploaded a few others a week or so ago, too, but they're not fully complete or ready. I just wanted them for my own reference! Accompanying them is a list of stories which will eventually be one of the main indexes of the storyinfo section. All of this stuff has much text information, but very few pictures... which still need to be either drawn or AI'd into being. 23/11/23 - A Medley of Wock 'n Woll. I discovered that one of the comic images in Agent Smoke has also gone missing (my host "helpfully" replacing it with the next-nearest-named image so it wasn't immediately noticable. Thanks for that, you cunts), so I've replaced it with a placeholder. One fewer page of ugly, biro-scribbled porn! I bet you feel terrible that you're missing out. Anyway I also uploaded the Gamma Universe Storyinfo page, once again in a "complete-ish" state, but with a bunch of dead links. Finally the Otaku Bar Reviews page has had a bit more tweaking and some new pictures added. 25/11/23 - Oh, Kiddie Pool. I've added the Nu universe, for Norman Saxon stories, and the Omicron universe, for The Serpent, to Storyinfo. I've also added placeholder pictures to the Minor Characters page, so the sizes and general layout look like they're supposed to. Even if 99% of the pictures are a blank shop dummy I AI'd up in 5 seconds. 27/11/23 - YOU, mate, have fucked every craftsman baker up the ARSE. The Kappa and Theta Story Info pages have been uploaded. Once again, they're "mostly" complete, but need tweaks, and a great many of the links on them are dead at the moment. I've also stuck up a few of the individual character pages, almost entirely with missing images at the moment, and done some other faffing about and cleaning up. In other news, I went over Melonbooks yesterday because I thought maybe I was going to get the catalogue / "ticket" for Kansai Comitia too late, and I should get in early. They didn't have it, but I did pick up a flyer / mini-"poster" for Kansai Comitia 69. I also found a flyer for something else... another doujinshi event. A FINAL FANTASY 6-ONLY DOUJINSHI EVENT!! THIS IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS!! It's not until April 2024, but considering that this site's very reason for existing is heavily based upon Final Fantasy 6, I'm pretty much duty-bound to go. And buying comics about Sabin banging Terra, Edgar banging Locke and Celes grinding hips with, er, also Terra, is a pretty decent reason too, I suppose. Anyway, coming off the back of my 6-monthly re-read of The Eltingville Club, and by extension The Northwest Comix Collective, I decided that as well as visiting that event, I'd "do a mini" for it. So I'll punt out a little A6 Insanity Please comic of some description (and I'll finally use this huge laser printer for something!), so far I'm thinking of just re-drawing some funny scenes from Insanity Please, but with better artwork. I might even do a second mini called something like "Erosanity", which will just be pictures of characters fucking. I'll just hand them out for free to the circles / other people around me to create great bafflement. If I can be arsed I'll even make it Japanese! Of course the contents will be uploaded to the site once the event's over, too! 02/12/23 - Scoer Bcolru Oricomi 10 in Osaka was today... but I didn't get to go. After a month of being told it was ok for me to take the time off work, and looking forward to it, I had it pulled out from under me at the last minute. It's not even the first time they've pulled that shit, either. Though the first time I got a last-minute relentment and was allowed home. They won't do it a third time. I felt a tad sick today, too. At least all of the worst kids didn't come to school, so the classes were alright. Also Tomorrow is the Christmas party in a swanky hotel, and I'm absolutely getting my money's worth. Anyway, on to the site updates. I moved a bunch of stories around in Storyinfo. Mostly putting silly "kids in schools fight with machine guns and bazookas but nobody ges hurt" stories into the Chi Universe, and not the Beta where they had been previously. I also keep getting emails selling me discounted Japanese-translated software from a company called Sourcenext. Ages ago I got a vector graphics design programme called Affinity, and I've finally started using it to make logos and titles around the site. So far I've made, er, two. I'm still feeling it out, so those will probably be replaced, anyway! 26/02/24 - The Broker I did a bit of tidying up and sorting-out around the site. Now there's pages (of a kind) for every part of the multiverse in Story Info. I also added some bits to the Potted History page and added a new otaku bar review. And a warning about a scam I've heard of. That page could do with some cleaning up and better organisation, actually. I might start arranging it geographically. Everything on it is in Osaka Prefecture, though. But I might try out bars in other places some time or another. In other news, I'll soon change jobs and have more free time AND more money, which ain't bad. I've done a bunch of cons and got a huge stack of doujinshi. And only about a third of them are porn! I'm thinking of reviving my Youtube channel, World Comics Review, as a daily series of super-short "check this out lol" unrehearsed videos. Though I still want to do some in-depth documentaries at some point, too. 27/02/24 - ES Saigo's Saigo I uploaded some more stuff for Storyinfo. Mainly the vehicles page, which is near the final design, but has many dead links / links that still need to be added. Also 99% of the pictures are missing. Also the weapons, companies, places and tech (basically, all the other stuff) page, which is a very basic placeholder. And there's almost nothing in that section, anyway. 09/03/24 - KLMM Finally uploaded the 1st February 2024 hourly comic!, only took over a month. Also a bunch of it was drawn on the 6th of Feb. The Hourly Comics section needs a work-over, many of the pages have incorrect links to the stylesheet, so aren't styled, and have other wierdnesses. I'm also working on a big overhaul of the Otaku Bars page, mainly putting each one on a seperate page, and organising them by location in an easier-to-read list. Also that should stop the annoying "fixing" of the images by my host. 23/04/24 - Ed Piskor was murdered and I will never forget him I went to FF6 Prosit on the 21st, and the convention report is now up here. When I found out about it, I said I'd make a mini to give away free at the event. Well ambition-creep, a change of job (which was a miserable mistake I regret) and a bout of terrible food poisoning (dry-heaving all night) put paid to that. I was up until 2 in the morning the day of the con, scribbling away, but it became not-humanly-possible to get it done. Maybe if I was 19, not 39...! A few other odd tweaks and small additions were made around the site. Not as much as I'd like, because I was suddenly without internet for several weeks. My building has been taken over by another rental company, and they (among other screwups) disabled the internet, which was being provided by the old rental company. They then installed some new lines, which I suppose are meant to make it faster, and are going to give every flat a new wireless router. I was out the day that came, which has led to another series of runarounds and screwups, and assumed I needed it, combined with the new cable, to get the internet to work again. Eeexcept today it just randomly started working again like nothing happened. Ain't complainin'. Also I have an Ecoflow Wave 2 mini air conditioner, which has it's own wireless, so I can turn it on from anywhere in the world! (it's otherwise a heap of crap, though, don't buy one). 30/04/24 - Ch-ch-ch-Cherry Bomb! Is the name of a bar in Osaka, but it's not an otaku bar, so I haven't put it on the new, VASTLY improved Otaku Bar Reviews page! But it does list many newly-found bars, a lot of new reviews, tweaked reviews based on second or third visits, loads of new pictures and one (so far) video walk guide! Also each bar is now on it's own page, and in it's own folder, so there's no more of the "corrected mages" nonsense my host gets up to. Speaking of the host, their online file manager is INCOMPTETENTLY-DESIGNED SHIT. It took well into the night, struggling to upload pictures ONE BY FUCKING ONE, with regular crashes, fails or just no feedback at all. Sometimes it would say it had uploaded 5 files, out of 7, but when I refreshed the directory (which you have to do by going to another and coming back, because the SHIT-FOR-BRAINS INCOMPETENTS who designed it didn't think to add a refresh button), I'd find it had only uploaded one. Many a time it just choked on files larger than about 90kb and didn't do ANYTHING. Several times I had to leave the site completely and come back, though "only" 5 times did I need to completely log back in. That in itself a wonderful experience of buttons that "jump" out of the way as you click, because some nag-bar about "switching to the international version" or "get yourself SEO!" had popped up. I thought I left this shit behind at Fortunecity in 2004. And I'm PAYING to use Ionos! Mind you, the host is only half the problem. My new landlords, despite installing a new cable, have a really shitty connection, especially for uploading (oddly, watching Youtube or, ahem, "other" streamed videos is fine and doesn't lag), which seems to work in fits and starts. Sometimes I could upload multiple megabytes of big images all at once, other times it would choke on one tiny thumbnail and I'd have to log in and out multiple times and beg it to work. But Ionos must take most of the blame, would it have killed them to give each file that's uploading a progress bar and to, you know, only say a file is uploaded when it's ACTUALLY FUCKING UPLOADED? Oh, also I put up an album of pictures from Download 2009. Better late than never, eh? Other Download fests, Japan trips, Urbexes etc will follow eventually. 01/05/24 - Cutting mat Four new otaku bar reviews added, why yes, I was a little slow to start in the morning, how could you tell? (I went to Subculture Round 2 as well). I also added another video walk guide to Jan Kounen's page, too. I also added several more albums to thephotos section. Finally I put up another convention report, this one from 2013! I re-found old pics of the one time I went to the MCM in London for the whole weekend. 14/05/24 - At last! Felney has been restored to the website! Well as it's called "The Felneyverse" it should probably have Felney on it, eh? I'm also working on the archive page of Classic Felney, which shouldn't be too much longer! 15/05/24 - Secondary Insured Put up a report for Kansai Comitia 70, which was held at Intex Osaka on May 12th. Shame the report for Kansai Comitia 69 still ain't done... one day, eh? Also added a very barebones stories page, with re-uploads of Postman Prat, The Fourth Reich and The Chosen Ones, aka Insanity Please meets The Young Ones! 18/05/24 - "I'll hate you forever!" "In 6 month's time I'll have forgot you ever existed" A bunch of stupid old crap, and an index page to link to it all, has been restored to The Skip, so you can go and see that if you really must. While needing to continue Felney (which has had over 100 strips scripted, but not drawn, for about 16 years) and Tabakusho, I've also had an idea for another story, which will probably be short and told in a more "graphic novel"-ey style (unlike the "Yonkoma" style used in Felney). It'll be called Li'l Felney and, like Li'l Archie in, er, Archie, will go back in time to tell the stories of the characters' early years. Only it'll mainly be about Mike, Harry (and 'Arry) and Annie around 1992 to 1994, when they're aged 15 to 18. Mainly inspired by a Youtube channel I found about the antics of a teenage motorcycle breaker who lived around the same sort of area and got up to all sorts of nonsense. Only while Mike will be building and riding rickety contraptions on the road, Harry will be into computers and making demos and doing some amateurish hacking on his Amiga. 20/05/24 - "Can you cover until July 29th?" "If you want to beleive I'll still be here on July 29th..." Some actual new(ish) content, for once! Over the last 3 years of working at junior high schools in Japan, I made simple comics to put on the worksheets I made. Actually it only worked out properly and gave the kids a proper story to follow the first time. The last year I actually made 3 comics, one for each grade, but never came near finishing them all in time. They're still not done now, and the contract finished in March. Anyway, the first two stories are now up in the new Felneyverse Mini-Stories section. Hopefully the others (and that Insanity Please mini...!) won't be too far behind, eh? I did a bit of digital archaeology for the Lames to Fame section, and found something else interesting... the original SCV! It's very unfinished (a lot more so than I remember, actually), but whatever. I uploaded it as a PDF in the SCV section. Also I finished, and added many pictures to, the write up of the IRL Anti Bully, the "spy agency" I started as a kid (and kept running for way too long). Plenty of stupid antics and terrible spelling ensued. Finally, as my host loves to over-agressively "correct" "mistyped" URLs, and keep cached things firmly locked down, I added a link below the newsbox on the main page than can be used to hard-reload all of the menus. Just click it, pick a section of the site, then go about your day, with all the menus up to date! 28/05/24 - Take this, and stick it in your ear. At the weekend I went to Comic City 126, despite feeling pretty miserable and having a recovering voice. After that I went to the awesome manga bar Anna once again, and learned that the legendary Misono building in Osaka is going to close down at the end of 2024. That's ripping the heart out of the city, that. That'd be like if Man on the Moon in Cambridge shut down... wait. Anyway, I started a page for Misono Memories, such as they are (I only found the place in 2019!), but there's not much on it right now. I'll get to adding some pictures, anecdotes etc soon! 05/06/24 - Almost forgot. Heh. Not in my name. 10/06/24 - It's back! Classic Felney, and it's rather vicious "director's commentary", has been restored to the website! The section also contains a number of other things including a gallery, the Click Games and some good 'ole /oldstuff/. Yes, I've noticed the irony of re-uploading my longest colour comic at a time when all the images on the site are set to be black and white! Also I gave Mike Comix a proper front page. 28/10/24 - I detect a little communism... Been a while, eh? My job made me pretty lethargic and depressed, so I quit it. Then I learned a lot of the worst kids would transfer out of my classes or just leave. Also I thought it'd be easy to waltz back in to my old ALT company, but they didn't even reply to my application. They do only tend to hire around March / April, though. Maybe I'll try 'em again, then, hiding in the crowd. I'm desperate to work at Japanese state schools again, I made some of my happiest memories there. Anyway, as I'm about to have some enforced "free time", and no money to drink, I might as well draw some comics, write some stories, make some videos and generally generate content! Imagine that (might even learn some Japanese). Anyway, before realising the severity of my situation, I did go to Kansai Comitia 71 in Kyoto. I've even done the write-up in a timely-ish manner for once! While working on that, I did some digital archaeology of my old comics blog, and found I DID write up some other 2010's cons I went to, I just plumb forgot about it. Anyway, those blog entries are now reformatted into webpages and are on the Convention Reports page. Which has also had a general spruce-up and now looks a lot better. Speaking of the old blog, there was some better-than-I-remember stuff on there, so that will also be rescued and transferred to the new World Comics Review subdomain! This has also taken the name of my on-again off-again Youtube Channel, which I also aim to kick up the arse at some point. I'll probably do fairly short videos and occasionally give them a linked article with more info. Aside from that, I've done a bunch of general tidying-up, fixing and improving around the site, as always. Mainly the Written Stories page has had it's look improved with some AI-tastic artwork, the Otaku Bar Reviews page had some new reviews and updates done to it over the pre-broke summer (it's going to take something of a holiday now, for obvious reasons) and finally the Lames to Fame section has had some music by Fat Wallet and Saint Zoe added to it. I recently found out my brother had a big solo musical project last year and wrote a song tangenitally related to Anti Bully, and the "Yellow Glove Gang". Only he called it the Red Glove Gang intead... but now I think I vaguely remember a rumored "Red Glove Gang" as the "sequel" to the Yellow Glove Gang? (who were not a 'gang' in the least and lasted about half an hour). 01/11/24 - Thtereotypeth Well, I'm done working full-time for the minute, so will have plenty of enforced free time to work on this site, comics and that. Too much enforced free time, every place I've applied for (bar two) has just ghosted me, stopped communicating or I've had second thoughts because everything about them online says "DON'T WORK THERE!". Might just have to go back to the UK at this rate. I said I never would, not so long ago, but I miss science labs. You get left the fuck alone in science labs. Are the bottles clean and agar stocked? Yes, good, here's your pay, sod off. Anyway, I said I'd added a bunch of old con reports, but completely forgot I'd not yet formatted the Camcon 12 page! But now it's ready. Also I've tinkered with the menus a bit to make the text larger and clearer, also the "top" link to come back to the front page is now more obvious. I wanted to use a plain black "emoji" of a house (FUCK the colourful ones), but there aren't any. The one called "house" looks less like a house than the big wide up arrow I'm using now. 05/11/24 - Remember Remember... Well, November 5th means nothing in Japan. But there's a reasonable chance I'll be back in England in time for the next one! Also I'm now officially fully unemployed. Gizza job, g'wan... Anyway, I don't know why I didn't do it already, but Fright Night 7 has been restored to the website. Well it's roughly around the date of Halloween, eh? Unfortunately I doubt many people even remember Fright Night, if I'm working things out right, the first one was way back in 1998, and 2005 was about the last anybody heard of it. And that was mostly a page of links... most of which are now dead, hurrah. I did attempt to fix what I could, mostly by find-and-replacing "keenspace" with "comicgen". Oh, I also tidied-up the design of the page a tad. World Comics Review has had it's first real update, I've added the first two re-done blog posts to it. They've also has a few minor mistakes corrected. Many more re-done blog posts are to come... and maybe some original content, too! Teddy Bear Wars has also been restored. Well, the comics (drawn circa 1998!) were already online, mixed in with the archives of Insanity Please, but now they have their own pages, so are easier to find. Shame it's an incoherent mess of badly-drawn, nonsensical violence, eh? (wait, that's what all of my comics are like!). It still needs both a logo and opening "naff sketch" to be made, but at least the comic itself is there. Aside from all that, I've done the usual bit of tidying-up and modifying of bits 'n bobs. A lot of pages where there just used to be a list of links next to text descriptions, are now being modified so that they have large pictures showing what the content is. Examples include Felney's /oldstuff/ page and the Doom page. Oh, and, while the Misono Memories page still isn't ready, I have some Misono news, mainly that my go-to bar in the building, Caoff Discovery, is moving out on November 8th! As I can't afford to go drinkin' at the moment, I doubt I'll be making many more Misono Memories before the place closes down. Another bar, audiophile central Torary Nand, shut down recently. I have some screengrabs from Insta of the last night there, all the furniture was gone, they were just drinking cans on the floor of a bare concrete room. Or, as Londoners like to call it, "having an avant-garde minimalist night". In London there'd be a £20 cover charge for that! 07/11/24 - The Trump followed through! Tonight is the last night Caoff Discovery will be open in the Misono Building. From tomorrow it will move to a different building. The Otaku Bar Reviews page is "New Caoff", though the bar's actual name will remain the same. Other than that, I've been doing a bunch of odds 'n ends of tidying up, modifying and adding little bits around the site. There's an amusing video from 2015 in the Potted History page. We tried to blow up a My Little Pony! 08/11/24 - Great News Inside, Chums! Caoff Discovery closed last night. But not to worry, a new bar named Caoff Discovery opens tonight. Yep, as a consequence of the Misono building shutting down (that memorial page is coming, honest!), they've had to move. I'll hopefully go there a bit later to record a walk video and nab some pictures of the new place. Can't spend too much though, because of unemployment reasons. Speaking of walk videos. I thought the old Buffalo (the criminal ransomware scammers) hard drive was holding all my old steady-cam videos hostage. Then I was looking through a handful of microSD cards (I've accumulated loads of them somehow) I found the old one that used to be in the camera, before I bought a "proper" UHS-class one for it! Anyway with the old footage on hand I was able to make walk videos for the old Caoff Discovery (better late than never, eh?), Digital Cafe and also Anna and Warp Room, but those haven't been shrunk down to uploadable size yet. Tomorrow! I also shot some footage inside Caoff on the last night, I'll put that up as well. And, speaking of unemployment. Turns out I'm not as unemployed as I thought I was. I was going to go in for a place that offered me a job before, but which clashed with the current one. Beleiving I was let go from the current one, I was all set up to re-apply. Until I got called in and told I'm not being let go until they find somebody new. FUCK this FUCKING place. Yes, this is the same job that deprived me of Oricomi 10, a proper 40th birthday and who knows what the fuck else. Anyway, my mind's made up now. I'm leaving Japan, sooner rather than later, and doing something simple in England, like maybe driving trucks. You get left the fuck alone in a truck. 13/11/24 - Subways of Your Mind I've been going through the various strips that were ready to go for SCV, but Corona put paid to the idea of printing them in a timely manner (oh, OK, I also drew them too slowly!). Most of them can still be re-used for a mooted SCV "Series 3", but a bunch are topical ones about Corona, so I've just shoved them up online for free. Check out the SCV 2 page to see them, and also the old cover designs! They're also linked-to from the Eta Universe page. As for other stuff, I've stuck up a few more odds 'n ends around the site. I found the old video my brother made for Zeroscape, buried way down on Youtube. I nabbed that and uploaded it. It also contains a couple of snippets of the piece some Scandi graffiti writers did on Zeroscape's van for their 2005 tour. And, as ever, some bits have been put in the Otaku Bar Reviews section, notably a new logo (still need a better one. I need to bash my skills with Affinity Designer into shape) and some extra content on both of the pages about Caoff Discovery. I also added a video walk for Milu Lari... which is 95% identical to the Caoff Discovery one, as they're now pretty much neighbours! 15/11/24 - I went to sushi. I ate the pool. I swam in fun. It was... I finally made the Felneysoft Lost Media page. A couple of the games are not actually lost after all! One of them doesn't work, though. If anybody has a win98/XP b0x or VM, and also Multimedia Fusion 2, are they able to open the .gam file, recompile it, and send it to me? Anyway, while digging through my old external HD for stuff to put on that page, I found a couple of non-lost games I'd half forgot about - Spak Invaders and Centrefold! So those are now up on the Click Games page. The latter has some "bonus" content, too. I also found my two old, abandoned magazines, intended for sale in the British small press scene of the early 2010s. So now you can get unfinished PDFs of The Sentinel and Small Press Digest. Those pages are very barebones right now! Some pictures will be added tomo-er-later today... Also, The Sentinel was supposed to have it's own comic - Black Widowe! I only ever made 3 pages, but you can now read that, too. 25/11/24 - The town's an endless, generic mall! I got a new job! So that's one panic about my future over. Meanwhile I discovered my girlfriend's path to the UK is not as smooth as I hoped, so my dreams of driving trucks for £30k plus a year are on hold, if not cancelled entirely. Still, at least if I'm stuck in Japan a bit longer, I can do more otaku bar reviews! speaking of otaku bars, turns out the old Caoff Discovery in the Misono Building isn't actually closed yet! So there's two Caoff Discoveries right now. I expect the Misono one hasn't got long left, maybe just up to the new year, so if ya wanna see it, hurry up! (also my "leaving on the last night" video clip is now rendered obsolete!) Speaking of videos, the World Comics Review page has been rejigged a bit. Now it has a "Videos" section, where I'll embed the videos (otherwise hosted on Youtube), and sometimes give them extra detail / photos in a written article to go with them. Once more stuff is up there (and I'm free of the part-time residuals of the old job), I'll hopefully, finally, give the channel a kick up the arse with short, not-in-depth mini-reviews that'll be posted daily (well, recorded in bulk and just set up with a "go live" schedule). Speaking of ass kickin', recently I've busted out Asesprite again and been making some Doom stuff. Will I have some wads up to blast through soon? Er, don't hold yer breath... but maybe!! 11/12/24 - D_RUNNIN My new job is extremely busy, so I haven't had much time to make updates. But I also bought a little pocket keyboard thing so I can write stories / edit webpages more easily while on the train. I also bought a new, more powerful (but still secondhand ex-corporate) Windows tablet, this one can (just about) run Rebelle, and handles multi-layer Paint.Net files with ease, so I can also colour and tone comics on the go! Anyway, I've managed to make some "new" (reposted) articles in World Comics Review. My new keyboard seems to type "strange" apostrophes, which look OK on my computer, but when they're uploaded to my host you get, well... go and check out the newest updates! Anyway I'll fix those pages sometime soon. I'm also working on three Felneyverse Mini-Stories, which fell by the wayside after I finished my last Jr High school without completing them. But now I'm an ALT again I got fired up to work on them some more, and I'm also entertaining the idea of making new ones for Elementary Grade 5 and 6 over the Christmas holidays. The school I'm at right now is higher level than "usual" Japanese schools, though (the first graders can spell!), so these stories will be a bit more sophisticated than might otherwise be expected. Ahh the holidays... sadly to bring about the end of the Misono Building. Today I got some pictures of the half-doors they've started putting up at the entrances to floor 2, ready to close it off at the end of the year. Naturally I'm going to be making several trips there and getting hundreds more pics for the memorial page (on it's way, honest!) Also, I've gone all these years without posting a picture in a news update. So how about we look at my schedule up to the end of the year?
Oh, and, it was Doom's 31st birthday yesterday. 19/12/24 - Punch 119 World Comics Review has had a large batch of new entries added, thanks to the mini wireless keyboard I got for my smartphone. I love that thing! Also I found out that the reason the characters were all screwed up last time, was because I made the character set "UTF_8" not "UTF-8". Well a comma crashed a spaceship, once. We're almost at the holidays, and the new year, which means the end of the Misono building! I've been knocked out with two colds that seemed to come on top of each other recently, and then the cough that followed. So I've saved plenty for some blowout bar visits to see the Misono off in style... and get pictures for that memories page, which I hope to also finally have up during the holidays! And in the new year, Kansai Comitia 72 and Comic Treasure 45 are going to be held at the same time and place! Double the cons! Better save some comic money from all the Misono piss-ups, eh? 20/12/24 - Special: Buy any pizza and the waiter will toss in the salad for free! For some unrelated reason I had a dig in my old 1tb external hard drive again. And found a WORKING version of Insanity Please 2, and an un-working version of "game 1", from November 2000!. However I was able to open and re-save the data file of the latter,so now that works too. The last time I (or probably anybody) played these things, the Twin Towers in New York were still standing. Nab 'em on the (not so-)Lost Media page. Anyway, if that wasn't enough dug-up ancient content for ya, how about the abandonware Bughunt 2, for Doom? The three base levels and the Garden Path level (AKA the ridiculous slaughtermap) are playable, with enhanced graphics, slightly better level design and some fancy EDGE trickery. I also dug up some other Doom stuff (including a piece of "lost media"!), but that needs a bit more processing and tweaking before it's ready to go. Tomorrow's looking busy, maybe I'll hold on to it for Christmas day! (yeah, I'll be indoors updating my website for Christmas, what a life I lead...) 25/12/24 - "I'll have the special, but can I watch?" If you've looked at the Doom Lost Media page, you'll see I'm on the hunt for skewl.wad, a badly-textured, haphazard map of my secondary school (made when I was still a student there, so you can see why it's gotten misplaced over the years!). Anyway the other day I discovered, buried on the old 1tb external drive of joy, skewl2.wad! Yes, I'd completely forgotten that around 2003 or so I was re-making it! Well, using the same architecture, but tidying it up a little bit, and retexturing the whole thing. I also had grand plans to re-sprite a bunch of the enemies to look like zombie students / teachers. Then de-hack in laser guns, like a wad called Twice Risen. But I decided to scrap all that, finish the tidy-up (mostly building a proper exterior, finishing the re-texture and some other stuff) and upload the damn thing, already! Also the proportions of the map are hilariously off, compared to the real place. This left a bunch of empty voids in the buildings. While it's supposed to be a representation of a real place, it's also a Doom level, so I populated those voids with monster closets and secret rooms. There's more I'd like to have done (building the upstairs, for starters), but maybe there will be a skewl3 in the future, eh? Also I found out ages ago, but forgot to mention it. Caoff Discovery didn't actually close down yet. There's actually TWO Caoff Discoveries open at the moment. The old one in the Misono building will close down on December 31st (well, January 1st really). So I've tweaked the page to reflect that. Also don't buy an E-Kon Escooter, they're shit, dangerous and could kill you. ...And keep da change, ya filthy animal! 29/12/24 - White Stew I did it several days ago, but couldn't be bothered to make a news update - the Games section has been "promoted" to a proper section, and not buried under "other". Just like it used to be back in 2009! This does mean all of the CSS is now screwed up, as are numerous links to that section scattered around the site. Er, oops... Also, to better organise the site, for my own work on it, as much as anything else, I created a Site Map with listings of most of the pages. I left out a few obscure odds 'n ends from various /oldstuff/ sections, and The Skip, but the rest is there. Red traffic lights means it's not ready yet, amber means the page needs work, and green means it's goo-er-okay to go! Oh, also I finally created, by that I mean asked a computer to create, "Nah-chan" for the Otaku Bar Reviews page. 13/01/25 - Higgledy-piggledy Murdered I went to Super Comic City 30! It was a pretty typical Comic City convention: Thousands of doujinshi based on anime I don't watch, way too big to get around in time, and the latter not helped by everybody clearing up thier tables and leaving 90 minutes before the stated end time. Still, next week is Comic Treasure 45 and Kansai Comitia 71, both on at the same place and time! Gonna be epic... and just after pay day, too! Also I made some more individual pages for a few more videogames, and I FOUND Dress-Up Tina! If you must amuse yourself for 30 seconds by changing her outfits. 02/02/25 - 180m long The Hourly Comic for 2025 is up. I also went to Kansai Comitia 72 and Comic Treasure 45 last week, but I've been busy so the report isn't ready yet. 12/03/25 - Liberate tutemet ex inferis A fair few updates, mostly minor. The main one being the report on Kansai Comitia 72 and Comic Treasure 45, held back in January, is finally finished! In the meantime I have been to Yonkoma Komachi 25, the report on which hopefully won't take quite as long (not as many comics to look at, for one). Over on World Comics Review I darkened the menu slightly, it was too bright to read white text against. Also a few more articles are getting (re-)uploaded now and then. There's still plenty more to come! In the Click Games section, I made some more individual pages for games. Also I fixed the boxes which display the game's text file, now they are white! I might make similar pages for my Doom wads too one day. For now the index of Click games doesn't actually list all of them! So check out the site map for a full list. In the Red, White & Blue section, I've added pages about the first two "series" of that comic. When will series 3 come out, that's the question! The page is still very barebones otherwise... for now. I finally used Reclaime to get back my files from the old Buffalo (the criminal ransomware scammers) NAS that broke. A bunch of stuff that I thought was on there (steadycam recordings of walks to otaku bars, a better-updated version of the site) turned out to actually be on SD cards and USB drives in the meantime. At least I got my old photos and porn back. It also turned out to have some really old stuff from around 2005 on it! I also have that stuff on another external HD, so it wasn't that special, but I had a poke about regardless and decided to upload some more videos. Firstly two stop-motion efforts, Kitty Wars and Kenny vs The Killomatic. Yes, a South Park "fanfic" movie! They're both from around 2005, filmed on a not-great webcam of the era, and largely naff. I'd also tried to make some kind of Felney Movie, with lego, which didn't go well. Lastly there's Shint, which came about when my brother made a toy ghost come close to a teddy bear, and I made the bear nonchalantly say "oh dear". We decided to film this and, well, it took some doing. Oh, and I re-uploaded Zombie Shock Massacre!. I don't know why it wasn't uploaded already, to be honest! Anyway, it is now, and I took the chance to clean up the archive page a bit. Also at some point before coming to Japan I started to re-scan it, but only did the first two pages. 21/03/25 - Treacle I finally uploaded the report on Yonkoma Komachi 25. 02/04/25 - I guess I owe you an apology. And a gallon of brake fluid. I went to a convention called Osaka Fes 25, which was yet another one where everybody packs up and leaves well before it's supposed to end. Something many conventions run by a group called Akaboo have in common. Time for a boycott! 20/04/25 - Or equivalents thereof. I recently got a new job at a school teaching tiny kids, but wanted to leave because it was crazily disorganised and kept springing new activities and things we were expected to organise on us. So I left. They actually let me go right then and there! Anyway I took the time to shoot some more otaku bar walking footage, so now there's guide videos for... Subculture Bar Round 2, U.N. Osaka Nazdrowie, Secret Garden and last (and least), Mofuru Osaka Nipponbashi. More in that area are on the way, with plenty of recycled footage! Anyway, after that I got a new job! ALT'ing at public (as in state, not private) Junior High and Elementary schools again. And that means more Mini Comics will get made! Oh, wait, I still have three from the old JHS which I haven't finished yet. Better get on with them, too. 01/06/25 - Yeah, I would actually. I went to Kansai Comitia 73 last week, and the report is now up. I also "tarted up" the Potted History page a bit. Where there are months with nothing happening, I uploaded a random picture taken that month (if available). 22/06/25 - Shin Tsuki. It was my birthday yesterday, though there's nothing else to report. I have been doing a bunch of character profile pictures for Story Info, mainly for minor characters from old comics I did as a kid... because it doesn't matter what they look like, so I can experiment with more distinctive faces. 12/08/25 - BON BON BON! It's the summer holidays! ...wait, that's not good when you're 41, it means you don't get paid! So I'll sit indoors working on the website and comics, then. I've re-designed the index page, so now the active(ish) webcomics have a preview and "latest update" notification on the front page, letting you know which one's been updated most recently. Also there's a bunch of quick-access links to other sections. Over in The Skip, I added a webcomic I made in 2007 called Gamer Scum. It was never uploaded back then, but once upon a time, there was briefly a Felneyverse imageboard, and it got posted on there, so this isn't it's first apperance, but probably the first time almost anybody has seen it anyway! 20/08/25 - J-アラートテストです。 The Insult Maker has been restored to the website. I said I needed to find it's old development files and re-save it as an .exe. Turned out, I DID do that, then saved it an obscure folder and forgot about it! Oh well, go and spend 5 seconds laughing at mixed-up obscene phrases, if you like. I also spent a princely £9 on RPG Maker MV, and have started to (very slowly) work on a new Insanity Please RPG! Of course, it won't be ready for years, but I have made the basic version of the world map. I also exported, labelled and uploaded it, as the Insanity Please World Map. I also had a playthrough of the old version for old time's sake, and discovered a glaring, game-breaking bug! So I need to dig up my old Don Miguel pirate copy of RPG Maker 2000 and fix that, for a re-upload. 24/08/25 - Caoff Discovery is 17! I had a trip over Kobe the other day, and picked up some barebones info (IE, that they exist, and photos of the doors) about some otaku bars in the vicinity of Sannomiya Station(s), of which there's three, but they're all in pretty much the same place. Anyway, those are now on the page. I've also compiled and uploaded the latest (and last!) version of the Insanity Please RPG Maker 2000 game. The next version will be the beginning of a full re-make in RPG Maker MV, which is a much-upgraded version allowing for, among other things, a proper materia system, just like FF7! (well, actually, I'm not sure some of the wierder things like HP-MP swap and Enemy Skills are possible, yet!). A page for that re-make will come, er, at some point. 05/10/25 - Expo, and a new section! I went to the Osaka Expo at the end of September, and will eventually make a page with pictures and videos about it. But before that, how about some more recycled old content? Well, OK, the original amounted to three blog posts, which were hidden, and later lost entirely. So it's more like old photos with new writeups. Either way, Figshit Picks is here! It's a bunch of lazy, stupid and dangerous things people did at my old job in the UK. Honestly the first entry is the best one, but there's several more to be made somewhen or other. With assorted other funny anecdotes for good measure. 13/11/25 - I wegard you as a fwightful wottah I finally finished (so far!) the E-Kon Escooter warning page. Doubtless there will be more to add to it in future. I also have no idea why the "back" link is huge, it just sorta happened. Back in October I went to Kansai Comitia 74. The report on it is... getting there! Speaking of "getting there", Misono Memories will hopefully soon get it's first upload. Every time I looked for a few pictures I found some new information about the history of the building, or some wierd rumour about it. Just as I thought I was nearly there, along comes a new book about it with an even more extensive history and hundreds of pictures! I beleive I even have a photo of what the unit that eventually contained Caoff Discovery looked like when it first opened, circa 1980! I recently got a very trashy paperback from a publisher called Gold Eagle, I got another one from them a few years ago about Phoenix Force, which was page turner, if cheesy and with gratuitous scenes which seemed like contractual obligations. Anyway, on the way back from Comitia I popped into a Book-Off and found another one, this one is part of a series called SLAM, and it's absolute crap! It's barely even a story, more like a list of events happening. Still, it was entertaining, and I thought "I can do better than that!". Not MUCH better, but better. So soon I hope to have some info about a new "in print" venture that might, well, actually do something. Imagine that. Oh,and I've tweaked the design of the front page a bit. 24/11/25 - Misono~! Misono~~! Misono Memories is FINALLY uploaded! Took long enough, eh? The part I regularly visited closed almost a year ago, now. And the whole building closed in July! Anyway, it took so long because, well, look how many blinkin' pictures there are on it! I'm always after more, though... The page is far from final, and more will be added as I find it! It also took so long because, while searching for pictures, I kept finding more information, obscure stories, and general confusion. There's even bona-fide conspiracy theories about the place! I'm yet to find anything saying it's haunted, but I genuinely wouldn't be surprised. Just as I was getting "version 1" of the page ready to put out, a new book about it came out, with loads more shit I'd never even HEARD of! Like how there was once a supermarket there, how the basement contained a cheekily-named disco (and long-since-closed karaoke rooms) in the early 80's, and how the second floor's bars were originally themed after different countries, so people could go on a "world tour" up there! To continue the theme of stuff being uploaded late, the report on Kansai Comitia 74 is finally uploaded, with some angry ranting about apps that were playing up on my phone, to boot. And, in the vein of old stuff, some of the silly writeups of the original (and abandoned remakes) of The Gun have been reuploaded. Though you'll have to get there through the Site Map, at present. I also did some more tweaking to (but added no more to - probably never will!) my old The Fourth Reich story, to make it a tad easier to read. As if anybody's interested! I've also added a page for Kestrel Books. As I said in the previous update, I bought a crappy action-adventure paperback called SLAM, which was so terrible, I thought I could do better myself, so I've been hammering out paragraphs by the yard for a few paperbacks. Hopefully I'll have them sent off to Ka-Blam sooner, rather than later! So far I'm working on Excalibur, Black Widowe and Sawston. Not sure how to begin with The Nobodies, but I'll work something out. Something with loads of SLRs and exit wounds. Also I've done some more tweaking to the front page and, well, you've probably noticed the other change! 09/12/25 - A lot of people think the DWB is a heartless instution, staffed by automatons. Last time I said I was speed-writing some trashy paperbacks, well I haven't finished any yet, but I did dig up, re-format and upload an old and very crappy Insanity Please Text Story. It covers the first 55 strips of the webcomic... and also heavily, er, "borrows from" Star Wars to boot. I also did some heavy tweaks / fixes to The Sitemap, gave the Art section an index at last (yeah, for all two sections of it) and chucked up the usual misc odds n' ends. 02/01/26 - A lot of people are right. I added a new Mini-Story, 3½. It was intended for grade 3 Junior High students, but didn't get finished in time. Honestly I had no idea what to write for them, so made it a kind of propaganda piece against the "inevitability" of the nannied, privacy-free "Society 5.0" which multiple posters around the school trumpeted. I also added a new otaku bar, Guild. There's a different Guild on Dotonbori, which is a ripoff. But I mixed it up with this Guild for a long time. After learning that they were two different places, I didn't realise the Nipponbashi Guild was an otaku bar, until I got curious with Google Maps one day. Anyway, I finally got around to visiting it just before the new year. I also added a video guide to Kuronekodo, as I was in the area, and had the gimbal cam handy. 04/01/26 - Thou shalt update like it's 2001 again. Yee! I made a new comic called "N" for Nipper. Go check it in the Mini Comics section naahhh! XD ^-^ |
